Assassins and Stuff

After a long break from LBP2, I've started making another level with a top down perspective with swords and stuff. It was kind of like my Blood of Dragons level, but not nearly as long and this one is more about gathering points and doesn't really have an end. It's also much less story-based.

In this level, you have this nice open environment split up into four square areas: a forest, a village, a castle, and a decorated market area I suppose I'll call it. There is a specific target that is in one of the squares, and it's your job as an assassin to kill him with your sword. But in each square is a load of guards and civilians who take away points if you kill them. After killing a target, another one will appear in a different square and you have to search them out. Survive as long as you can and gather as many points as you can.

All the NCPs have a sort of AI. You can see their line of sight (represented by a stream of light) and if you touch that line they'll start chasing you. Some carry swords, they aren't too bright and won't chase you for long so your best means of survival is to stay back and try to get behind them. Some carry bows, which will chase you relentlessly and your only method of survival is to either take cover or sneak up behind them and kill them before they see you. The civilians will see you and then begin running away. Your targets behave similarly to the civilians, but run faster.

How exactly does that sound to you as a gamer? Sound playable? I'm afraid it lacks substance, or much of a reason to continue playing. Not much depth. I'm also really bad at decorating levels so right now they look a little bland. Any suggestions? Ideas? I'll give credit and stuff.

Your level is pretty awesome, but I'm going for something a tad different.

While yours is a platformer, mine is a top down perspective. While yours is all about finding a specific person, mine is about finding a specific person while surviving. It's similar, but different enough. The challenge in my level isn't finding the person in the allotted time as much as it is taking them out without dying.

I do love your aesthetics, also. I like the environment and its decoration. I could use a bit more decoration with mine. I also appreciate how all the NCPs have a different look to them- all of mine are essentially the same but divided amongst guards, targets, and civilians without any individuals.
