Help with pixel animation

Hey guys i need some help making my pixel animation better. what i can make it do is walk to the left and right and it show up great. however when i'm standing still it doesn't show a sprite, it just shows nothing. in the pictures that i will provide below i dont have a pixel artwork linked up for standing still since i can't figure out how to do it. also when i tried inputting a jumping animation it does show up when i press the X button, but it also shows the animation for moving to the left or to the right, and the jumping animation stops as soon as i let go the X button. can you guys please help me out? 43127 43128 EDIT : I also looked at many tutorials but still can't figure it out so any help would be awesome | 2012-12-02 17:18:00 Author: kskingsven Posts: 8 |

Hi There Kskingsven. I'm guessing your making it in lbp2, bugt dont recognise the interface. You have a few ways to do this. the quickest way is to make a 'standing still' animation'. On the controllinators 'active' output, wire to a NOT gate then wire this not gate up to the 'standing still' animation. This works as when the controllinator is not moved then the standing still animation plays. A more pleasing way is quite similar. Make a 'standing still' animation for each direction the character will face. On each direction that the character walks, have another wire connecting to a NOT gate (so for example say, to go right- left sticks left and right wires to a DIRECTION SPLITTER's + input, a wire from splitter go the ' walk right' animation. BUT, also from this splitter + output, connect to a NOT GATE and that to the 'standing still facing right' animation. alright thanks for the reaction and it is really helpfull and i can almost get it to work except for the part that it keeps showing bith standing still animations at the same time, i know for sure that i did do something wrong haha anyway here is a screenshot of how it is looking now if you could comment on it that would be great. (and it was for the psvita version yeah but they are almost the same so shouldnt be a problem ) 43129 Edit : the part that works is when i stand still it shows the standing still animation, and when i walk lets say to the right "the standing still right animation" disappears but the "standing still left animation" keeps showing up. and how do i make it so that lets say i walked to the left and then stopped moving, that it keeps showing the looking left animation. | 2012-12-03 00:42:00 Author: kskingsven Posts: 8 |
Hi kskingsven, we written before, i actually got mine to work.... it was pretty complicated, it blew my mind haha ^^ but i got it, and i think i cant really explain it in words lol... It plays for each side an animation if u move left or right and if u stopped facing left or right it shows a standing still animation. I didnt put in a jump animation since it looks good enough. I have the same amount of sprites as u do. 6. But if i give u my controllinator, than i dont know if u get it haha.... its pretty messed up, but ready to go... I actually used microchips with not gates cabled too, to stop the animations and just show the standing still sprite either direction u face or last pressed....
