Changing Material of the Floor

Archive: 7 posts

I cant figure out how to change the material of the base floor in the level editor. I know you can change the background to 5 pre-made ones. But I just want to change the floor.

Cheers

I'm afraid other than changing the background to one of the pre-made ones, or possibly the glitch Rough-Tea mentioned, there is no way to just change the material of the floor.2012-12-04 02:14:00

Hey,
it's pretty easy, it's not a real glitch.
The method, most of the creators are using is to make a second floor in the air with the static option.
This has to be as high in the air as the normal floor needs to be not shown in your view, now only move the checkpoint on the second floor and everyone will think you changed the floor material.
Thats the whole trick. (Mind to make it 3 Layers thick)

I'm not quite sure, but I think the OP is trying to actually change the material of the floor, not make a new one.

I am pretty certain he meant the base floor as well, but to be honest, good levels rarely show the base floor anyway. You'd be better off just creating your own out of a material that's up a bit. You can even use the extra 3D layers to create a better effect.2012-12-11 05:27:00
