Changing Material of the Floor

Hey, it's pretty easy, it's not a real glitch. The method, most of the creators are using is to make a second floor in the air with the static option. This has to be as high in the air as the normal floor needs to be not shown in your view, now only move the checkpoint on the second floor and everyone will think you changed the floor material. I am pretty certain he meant the base floor as well, but to be honest, good levels rarely show the base floor anyway. You'd be better off just creating your own out of a material that's up a bit.
