Hey everybody, if you want to play some Garbage Gotcha! (https://karting.lbp.me/v/2bx5) visit my new Arena Level an give it a try You have to paint 10 Sackpersons (with customized weapons) as fast as you can to win the match. Collect Paintballs and shoot them at your opponents by pressing the R2 button, control your sackboy using the right & left stick while you explore the arena in first person perspective Feedback is always welcome! Interesting concept, and I like the first to 10 shots idea. I didnt like the big sack in front of the camera, it made it very hard to see and even hard to aim accurately. If you want to have a visible character then it needs to be smaller and you need to place the camera differently (think tomb raider or assassins creed). The environment was interesting, well decorated and the cheering crowd worked really well. | 2012-12-01 16:17:00 Author: TheAdipose Posts: 533 |

But i guess i have to take another look at the camera then, because there isn't supposed to be "a big sack in front of the camera" When i played it was simply first person perspective just with a gun on the screen... Pretty odd that it doesn't work properly, but i'll check that problem, thanks for telling me. By the way, i was inspired to make this gotcha arena by your tutorial, which was absolutely helpful | 2012-12-01 17:45:00 Author: Chup Posts: 95 |
ah... I was playing splitscreen with clariepose - I wonder if that makes a difference. Try it with a second controller and see what you get. Yes I did see the similarity with the tutorial - which is why I wanted to play the level. The level looks really great and I liked the emphesis on paint, with the tiny chance of rockets - although I did score 5 points with one rocket which seemed a little borken | 2012-12-01 18:24:00 Author: TheAdipose Posts: 533 |

... with the tiny chance of rockets - although I did score 5 points with one rocket which seemed a little borken Yes, i realised that too... if you're lucky and get the rockets two or three times in a row it's pretty easy to score very fast But 5 score points with one shot? you must be really a lucky one xD regarding the camera problem: I'll try it with a second controller tomorrow... that could be the reason... | 2012-12-01 23:45:00 Author: Chup Posts: 95 |
I didn't see the sackbox infront of me when I played O.o I just had the gun. Anyhow, I like the concept and it's pretty cool to see this can be done (I'm a noob) in LBPK and that we can actually go against eachother instead of only AI like in the LBP2 FPS levels. I don't really like the character design though, and the controls are too stiff. Controls being most important, if you could make it so they are faster that would make a difference, it was a little too putt-putt for my tastes. | 2012-12-02 04:04:00 Author: anarchowolf Posts: 194 |
Faster movement and faster firing are simple to do - along with more ammo in the guns. Its just a case of personal preference I guess. You might be interested in this, Stone on youtube found a way to do the strafing as well. I'll post his comment. "Hey dude, just in case your interested.. I found a way to strafe! Took me a bit but in short I used direct control with lock rotation for left stick and then right stick to transmitter.. on object reciever to direction splitter to combine with pos/neg swapped to rotate motor set to speed scale =) Success!" | 2012-12-02 07:23:00 Author: TheAdipose Posts: 533 |

When i make the movement faster i think the feeling of "walking" is lost... i tried many different speeds, but i think the version i choose is a good average between walking and driving^^ I don't want the players to feel like they're sitting in a kart or something... therefore you can't move that fast But as already said, that may be a a matter of personal preference | 2012-12-02 09:47:00 Author: Chup Posts: 95 |
