Problems with Sensors

I am trying to make a health system for my karts but it needs the kart to register impacts and being hit with custom weapons. The only way I think of doing this is an impact sensor in the logic for the kart itself. However I can't get any sensors not just impact to work.

Does anyone know how to make sensors work? Is it that they simply can't be inside a microchip? I yet to try placing them outside the chip but ill try it next. If anyone has ideas on ways to pull these off please tell me.

A side note I am also trying to find a way to change vehicle top speed on the go for custom boosters.

Well so fr I haven't had to much trouble with sensors on microchips. But for the health system I believe all you need is a weapon impact sensor (not its actual name,but its something like that). They have a sensor just for detecting weapon impacts. If its not working then you have messed up something in your custom weapon set up. For the health bar I'm not sure what the correct setup is but I imagine you hook up the weapon impact sensor to a threshold sensor, then that to a HUD tweaker set up for your health bar. You might not need the threshold sensor, I'm not sure.

For the custom kart speed you could just use the boosters. But if you want something else you could have a selector set up to two tweaker tools. Then just have a timer activate the second kart tweaker (which is set up to your custom speed) for however long you need.

Ma these are custom weapons that should only damage not destroy the kart. Kart should blow only after sustained damage. I also want the kart to take smaller damage from impacts with karts and walls. If I can get the sensors to work then I'd be set. The problem is no sensors seem to work inside a chip. Or at least inside a chip placed on a spawn point ment to work on the kart. Hopefully tonight I can play and do more tests.

If anyone knows how sensors work differently in lbpk from lbp2 I'd love to know. Or if its just some glitch... Thanks

I have a working tag sensor that's placed on a chip on a spawn point, so it's not all sensors that are broken. Hard to say what's wrong though. Are you testing in an actual race, not just test driving? You can set your test spawn point to prefer player 1 to make sure you're spawning from that spawn point and not an unmodified one.2012-11-26 23:29:00

Ya I tested in play mode not in create. I can't seem to get impact or tag sensors to work inside the chip or even on the spawn point itself. They just don't register anything like they should. I duno what to do and I duno what's wrong. Why it works for some people but not for me. I am not new to lbp logic... I made a working pinball game on vita and been here sense lbp1 I just don't get why it's not working. Is it just a glitch? If so any known work arounds?
