Our Own LBP PSP Spotlights

Archive: 24 posts

You may already know that LBPC have stopped doing PSP spotlights, and if you've read some of my other posts you would probably think that I am crazy about reviving LBP PSP, so you might know what I am about to say, you would probably know if you read the title of this thread. I think that some random creators from the LBP PSP community should do community spotlights for psp in the psp forum. I don't know who should review the levels but I just want to know if people think its a good idea.2012-11-26 07:10:00

First when I entered here I was like:

http://freethoughtblogs.com/rockbeyondbelief/files/2011/07/Lolwut-300x277.jpg

But then I started to think that this is not such a bad idea.

Well I think that everything's possible so maybe it could work. It's not easy though.

First of all, to review the levels we will need experienced creators, not just some random people. So we would have to vote the Spotlight Crew again.

Secondly, we shouldn't call it LBPC Spotlights since it's not the same.

And finally, uh... what I was going to say? Oh well, just forget the last part... >_>

Spotlighting levels is not easy.

You have play everything that comes through the forums, good or bad. Not alot of levels being published on psp, so that would be the easy part.

You have to have hardcore lbp players who are committed people, this is the most important thing.

You have to be good at leaving reviews. That is very important. Leaving reviews is one of my favorite things to do in lbp, and it should be for every spotlighter. And you must have a decent writing style.

Coming up with creative ways to describe levels every two weeks can be a chore.

Spotlighting is time consuming. I spend about 6 hours minimum every week. And on the weekend of the spotlight writing up the reviews can take 2- 4 hours. I always replay the levels the day I write spotlights, so that is more time.

If It sounds like spotlighting is a job, it is.

It's the funnest job I have ever had though.

I think you should pursue this if you want.

I would totally support this.

Finally a proper answer!

Spotlighting levels is a hard job, indeed. I've never wanted to be a Spotlighter because of the low amount of time I usually have and because of my lame English grammar skills, so I'll pass also this time.

Thanks guys, I didn't do an in depth think about this with the random people and all, I've thought about it again taking into consideration you guys' comments, and I think it could be possible if we could get some willing and natural people at this sort of stuff who would put in the time and work into this project. I know PSP is getting kinda old and that's why the people of LBPC stopped making spotlights, but I think the right people can keep it going. I would like to know if anyone else likes this idea, or thinks they would be a good candidate to spotlight levels.2012-11-28 07:02:00

It just wouldn't work. There are anly a few people left on the PSP side. And we need a few people to spotlight levels. That basiclly leaves no one to create. A new level comes out like once a month. Not sufficient for a spotlight. Why don't we just stick with Schark's level of the week...2012-12-10 20:54:00

PSP is rather slow so I voted no. I don't think there is much left on the psp side. And yes I still have to finish my doodle level but Im just lazy now. I still didn't say I have stopped working on it but it will take whatever when it's done. 2012-12-12 02:01:00

I think it would be a bad idea without willing people, levels, and co-operation.

BTW I gave up on LBP PSP a long time ago cause'
*my PSPs broke
*LBP kept on crashing too much
*I had no wi-fi
But still I will treasure every moment I spent with it. :3 It was worth while it lasted.

Well, I tried, I guess I'm not in the know to know with the remnants of the LBP PSP Community, so scratch that idea, thanks for the comments guys.

Well, we could at least try to start a thread in which everyone can recommend levels they have played which they liked. Then there wouldn't be "chores", everyone just leaves the name of a level and maybe a description...2013-05-02 17:01:00

Well, I am glad to see that people are still interested in the psp version.

It is a great game that gave me hundreds of hours of entertainment.

This is a game that pushed the psp to it's limits. Even with the glitched turbo materials, the profile corruption bug, and other minor problems, it is an amazing game.

I learned how to create on psp, so I will always have a special place in my heart for this game.

Yesyes, same here this is THE game in my book.
Learned to create on it but that's also partly LBPC's work, if it wasn't for here I'd still be making noob levels and checking the community moon everyday too see if I got more plays/hearts. <_<
I wonder what would've happened if Cambridge didn't stop so soon. Imagine ... :o

Ah, those were good times ...

I wish I could travel back in time, to have an earlier start with this game - day one, when it was released.

I would meet you guys much earlier.

AND ... I'd get the frikken' Week One Shirt!

Yeah, I was waaaay too late when I got LBP PSP, my brother, LiamTheKiwi, had given up on his levels as they were screwing up too much, and I was only playing highly rated levels that were kinda big, like Steam... Haha, yeah it would have been cool as to be on LBP PSP right from the start, instead of starting at the end...2013-05-09 09:07:00

yeah, pretty much the same here... I've also learned creating on the psp, but sadly I was never able to publish one, or even finish one (those corrupt profiles )... I even bought lbp psp for vita, so i could create again without the corrupt profiles and crashes. Is anyone still interested in new psp levels? else it would make no sense to start creating again... I still love it though!2013-05-10 09:40:00
