Its not working at all. I press L1 and nothing happens. I tried it in live & play modes. I am trying to grabble a mid air object that has the grappelizer tweaker on it. Do you have to do something besides just placing the grapple hook object on the track? I wouldn't think so.

you need to set the length of the grapple tweaker so that you can reach it or else it simply wont work. Using a bouncepad before it or something to trow you towards it also helps. Remember that regardless of if you put the tweaker on the left, right or top of the object it will always try to grab it at the closest middle point of the object to you.

The tweaker grapple length is set on its Max setting. Plus the object is fairly close to the gap. When you set the grapple length with the grapple sponge, you see a red line that shows the distance. I don't see the same visual marker when changing the setting on the Grappilizer. Should I see one?

nope you shouldnt see a red line. The grapple sponge is unique and is the only object you can swing from. Any object with a grapple tweaker can only be carried/dragged by the grapple hook and can not be used for crossing a gap. In my new level i used the grapple tweaker to make a grapple elevator which moves up to the next level of the arena when the hook latches on to it (The sackboy and kart simply move up with it while hanging beneath it) If you have the length set to max that probably means the latch point is in the floor somewhere and that is why it is not working. The latch point has to be between the two points you want to move from so it has to be just above the floor you start from and the object you wish to reach.

I'm trying to swing across a gap. It seems strange they would limit you that way. How does the game know if you're grabbing an object to swing from or just drag around? Weird.

Because the only thing you can swing from is the sponge you find in your tools settings, I found it limited aswell since you can't sticker it either. As for dragging objects around, you'll have to make the object you want to be dragged around dynamic, then put the correct logic on it.

Does sackboy need the grabber powerup to grab the sponge or can he always grab it automatically? If not, then you'll need to either put one in your level or set it in on his spawnpoint.

Okay, so I did some experimenting last night, and it turns out that the Grapple Sponge still works just fine if you conceal it in an object. So, if you want to be able to swing from something, just stick a Grapple Sponge in it, and it'll work just fine
