So... the 2 new games of the Call of Duty franchise and the Halo franchise are here, and everyone is arguing: WHICH IS BETTER?! Imo, they're both kinda the same thing over and over, and Skyrim and Assassins Creed 3 are both better games, but no, these will get more sells. You can't really tell which is better; one is kinda alien/future while Black ops 2 is based on real life (future.) So, which do you think is better: Halo 4 or Black Ops 2?

Call of Duty has been going down hill every game after CoD2. CoD4 was ok and that is it. Halo 1, 2 and 3 were all very good games, ODST and Reach were kinda 'meh', and Halo 4 is the closest game to a proper Halo out of all of the recent ones, it's actually fun as well, unlike CoD. No competition here.

I don't think the two are comparable, really. CoD and Battlefield are the main rivals - both military shooters, both have a strong online following.

Thing about Halo is that it is more than just a game now... the expanded universe in which it is set has evolved so much through so many medias that Call of Duty holds nothing in comparison. Halo is also great with character retention and for over a decade the players have grown attached to them, has anyone been attached to a Cod character outside of the game they are in? My view is probably biased as I'm a huge fan of expanded stories and characters, the closest Call of Duty got was the back story to Zombies and even that isn't all that great. Halo is just able to offer more insight into everything it mentions in the games. Call of Duty is always the same... bad guys threatening a first world country (usually America) and that country saving the day... always. Halo is constantly expanding it's story... look at halo 4, it saw the return of the mythical forerunners and the alternatives they had to the halo array and the flood shown in the first 3 games. It explained that they were not humanity's allies like previously thought (in games only, books talked of a war... seriously... external backstory is awesome) and showed us to be an misunderstood enemy but an enemy nonetheless. I could talk about the halo universe all day but I'll move on. From a gameplay point of view it's more or less the same, neither really offers much tactical choices and if someone dares play anything safe and sensible they are labled a camper... yeah... like real world snipers run around in the open 2 feet away from the enemy... Halo's vehicles were always fun to drive though... remember when Cod did tanks? talk about over powered... some times realism ain't everything. Also enemy variety seems to be better in halo, 3 or 4 different asthetic factions (factions not enemies, each faction containing 3 - 5 different units) with different gameplay styles... beats cod's 3 enemy skins with different weapons... oh and that one helicopter you shoot down a million times with the convieniently placed rocket launcher... think I've covered everything =p needless to say halo wins it for me... note: havn't played cod since blops 1 havn't played halo since 2 so consider this an outsider perspective

Personally, I voted for neither. Why you ask? - I'm tired from CoD. It's entering youtube and seeing hundreds of videos of gamer-wannabes about their 720 trick shot with lens flares, dubstep and such things. Also, the game is boring (it gets old in... 3 hours? not more) and it has been the same since Modern Warfare 2! - And for Halo, I simply don't like their fanbase. Most of them think that Halo is their saviour and the creator of shooters. I also find the Halo universe way too sci-fi. Don't take me wrong, I like Science Fiction, but Halo is just too much. It's super-soldiers in shiny armours against super-aliens in shiny skins. I always prefired Team Fortress 2

I said MW2 just to say a name, really When people in my class ask me when will I buy Black Ops 2, I usually tell them that why should I do it? I could just buy Black Ops. It's the same. And I could just buy COD 4. It's the same. And it goes like this until I run out of CoDs. Then I just say that toilet paper is simply much cheaper I'm the weirdo in my class because I like LBP2 (ITS FOR KIDS) and I dislike Black Ops 2. I chose neither because both are overrated and both get boring super quickly. They also can be repetitive (CoD especially), and both are also commercialized like there is no tommarrow. There's better games out there.
