Multitudinous Minion Mash

Multitudinous Minion Mash (http://lbp.me/v/gpv80d)
In an effort to get myself back into LBP2, I took on a small mini-game project. Something quick to build with relatively instantaneous gratification. This is the result - A 3 minute duel with you and at least one friend in a small environment.

Player 1 plays as their regular Sackperson, while players 2, 3 and 4 get to play as a variety of 'Minions' to get mashed.
The Minions come in all shapes and sizes and each has it's own playstyle, however, for the sake of keeping things intuitive, all Minions are controlled using only the Left Control Stick, and the X Button.

The Blue 'Dual Swiper' is closely based on the Wilderness enemies from LBP1. There is also a 'Single Swiper' which is a variation of the same Minion, also based on a Wilderness enemy.
The Red 'Big Wheel' has an electrified large wheel which is too large for Sackpeople to jump over. Unfortunately, the arena has Bounce Pads, which render this Minion vulnerable.
And the Green 'Hovering Plasma Shooter' has a great scope of the level, but it can only hover above a certain height for so long, before it automatically falls. A lack of clever positioning will result in Sackpeople using the Bounce Pads to get the upper hand.

Each player gets his own colour of Minion.
Player 2 is blue, 3 is red and 4 is green.

I love their derpy expressions.

My personal favourite minion, this one has 2 extending claws. Time the attack right, and Player 1 doesn't stand a chance, screw it up, and they'll hop right over your massive claw and give you a good bonk on the noggin!

Everything in the level is a floating platform, and large amounts of weight or explosions can knock them off balance. Plus, the platforms bank left and right naturally. Hope you don't get seasick.
Even the Checkpoint has rockets celotaped to it.

Again, this was just a quickie level, so don't take it too seriously. Hoping to create some big stuff again soon.
Have fun.
Oh, and if you have any extra ideas for new Minions, do let me know!

Wow, what a cool idea! Queued--can't wait to give it a try with some of my other sack-chums.2012-11-20 03:22:00

We (Me and my siblings) have been playing this with each player taking it in turns to avoid the two others.
This is so much fun! I cannot express how much, the minions are simple but balanced but with two (Presumably 3) minions it gets rather chaotic and hilarity ensues.
"Oh No!"
"Double kill!"
"Jeremy fell off the edge!"
Are just a few of the quotes we were saying.

We loved the minions so much we gave most of them names. Jeremy was the single armed wheeled one.

In order of effectiveness I think it is:
Wrecker - Electric Pulley guy
Miss Isle - Missle
Wheeley - The unicycle one
Geoffrey - Two armed Wheeled
Jeremy - One armed Wheeled
Phil - Flying laser
Terrence - Wheeled Turret
Crab - The crab (We couldn't get the hang of him so he didn't get named.)

I will say that a couple of times the missile blew up the respawn point and the respawn fell meaning a restart. Also after explosions sometimes bounce pads would break (No idea why). Other than that, great job!

Sorry, man - I thought this thread was dead and buried or I'd have responded sooner.
Well, I'm glad you found the level as amusing as I'd intended, and thanks for letting me know how you got in.

Breaking bouncepads was an issue I found a couple of times while making this, but I was certain I had fixed that.
I think I'll try emitting them, and if they get broken, replacements appear. I have no issue what the actual cause is, though, I mean, bounce pads are near explosives all the time in other levels.

As for the Checkpoint getting lost, I'll sort that. I was aware it occasionally clipped the edges of the background, but it never occured to me explosives could be an issue.

I'll sort all this tonight. Maybe throw some new minions in as well.
Don't suppose giving Crabby a longer reach would help, would it? He's possibly my favourite, actually.
