100+ plus hours of creating finally comes to an end with... Arena - Blast zone ADD IT HERE! (https://karting.lbp.me/v/1mmt) https://lbpk-production.s3.amazonaws.com/player_creations/75989/preview_image.png "A massive rocket designed to explore Craftworld stands in the middle of this old warehouse, use your driving skill to collect fuel from generator pads all around the arena to fuel the rocket! The more fuel you collect at once the more points you will get!" 2-4 players recommended! single player may take a little longer (though still playable) as the A.I are stupid! For all extra information regarding this level please go to the other thread i have in ideas and projects! https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=75660-Arena-Blast-Zone-My-First-LBPK-creation https://lbpk-production.s3.amazonaws.com/player_creations/76035/data.jpg https://lbpk-production.s3.amazonaws.com/player_creations/76037/data.jpg https://lbpk-production.s3.amazonaws.com/player_creations/76039/data.jpg <3 | 2012-11-19 22:23:00 Author: Arastoph Posts: 216 |

OMG, that was incredibly awesome Arastoph. From the details to the gameplay elements to the story line, this deserves a team pick. Really enjoyed driving around looking for different nodes to power up and fuel the rocket. The grapple to go up was awesome. I dont want to give too much away, so anyone reading this must must must play this amazing level. Man, I have a long ways before I can create something of this caliber. Very well done buddy. I honestly I really dont even know where to start with this! The layout of this map was very well thought out. Did you concept this map on paper? The first thing I can say right off the bat, is this has to be played with human players as you mentioned! Arastoph this level is a spectacle, everything about this level visually is amazing your 100+ hours is obviously showing here, I really enjoyed all the different areas of this map especially the different tiers on the map which switch up things. The grapple lift is clever, just dont let go hahaha. Dude and the amount of logic that had to have gone into this level. My jaw is still on the floor, and just think this is just the beginning of this games life! Your track has really gotten me excited for what is to come for you and the community. Good good good job Excellent work man, this map is pure gold this is probably my favorite Battle/Mini game map. You really set the bar with this one man, keep it coming! I cannot wait for this map to get more plays! thanks for sharing this with us keep em coming!!! | 2012-11-20 05:12:00 Author: Unknown User |

I cannot wait for this map to get more plays! thanks for sharing this with us keep em coming!!! to be honest i don't know where this idea came from. At first i had an idea where i wanted something big that would stand out in an arena based level and be interactive, a core part of the mechanics as it were... Then my mind pictured a spaceship and i thought "hey why not?!" and started to build one. When i had finished building the rocket i thought of ways it could be interactive and i thought at one point in the level it could take off and cause a lower floor hazard killing anyone who had not moved up to higher ground. It was not till much later that i thought that the layer could actually play a part in launching it. The power nodes were used as a way of creating combat zones, often in tight areas where players whould have to meet confrontation and use strategy to hold control of the area. Before the nodes the energy orbs simply spawned all over the arena but that allowed players to keep their distance from one another and created a very boring mechanic. The grapple lift was the last thing i came up with as i wanted an unorthadox way to get to the second floor that did not require the usual bounce pad or grapple swing. For at least 20 hours i worked on that grapple lift because each time i used it the game crashed! and i could not understand why... it turns out the cloned platform i used at the top and the bottom of the lift caused a conflict in logic as one was out while the other was in even though the game was treating them as one object... that was rather annoying! But in terms of making in on paper first i did not do that. The level came out of pure trial an error as all my levels do, which is why i guess they take so long for me to make! Again, i am glad you all enjoyed it! Thank you so much for the kind words! | 2012-11-20 15:36:00 Author: Arastoph Posts: 216 |
This is an incredible arena battle level. I unfortunately just played it with bots, but I can still see the potential and I am very impressed. The way you implemented goals into the battle is perfect. Normally I like to talk about issues that I have with a level but there just wasn't really anything wrong with it. It sucks that the AI can't be very competitive but that isn't really your fault. Great work with this! | 2012-11-20 22:40:00 Author: amazingflyingpoo Posts: 1515 |
This Arena ist just amazing! The Map is very well constructed, there are so much details and the idea to collect power is cool. As already mentioned it's too bad that the AI is pretty stupid, but with other players this level must be awesome! | 2012-11-21 14:25:00 Author: Chup Posts: 95 |

I just had to come back and tell you how much this level pleased me! My jaw was on the floor literally the entire time, saying things like "WHAT, HOW!?" and "OMG, This, this is what LBP is meant to be." Great job Arastoph, I predict a Team Pick very soon. Please make more, I command it! @_e | 2012-11-21 22:18:00 Author: fireblitz95 Posts: 2018 |
thanks everyone! i have a question to ask. I am uncertain as to where i should take my creating ideas to next.. would you guys prefer me to make a track now? or should i continue making arenas? I know the A.I in arenas is nowhere near as good as it can be, but from what i have started in the track editor the A.I seems semi intelligent and i believe i can make something rather advanced with them as well. Here are some ideas i have for both, perhaps they will help you decide Tracks 1. A ruined temple submerged in ancient magic causing the fragmented pieces of the temple to float, spin and crash into each other causing multiple paths for the drivers to explore 2. A factory in a state of chaos with machine parts breaking down and becoming obstacles on the track.. this level also currently has a rotating swing that when grappled carries the kart in a half circle over a hazard. Arena - 1.Toxic waste level. In this level the karts battle over a massive toxic dump with the main area consisting of a large rotating arm which can knock the player into the pits unless they manage to shoot it in time. 2. Vortex - Players battle arround the edge of a collapsing portal/star which is dragging large debris towards it. which path should i follow? also if you know anyone who would be more than willing to bump my level up on littlebigplanetarium that would mean a lot to me! 14 views no replies i was certainly suprised at the inactivity on there! | 2012-11-21 22:55:00 Author: Arastoph Posts: 216 |
This looks absolutely incredible. I've added this to my que, absolutely cannot wait to play it! I'd also love for you to make a track. Either of your ideas sound fantastic, why not make both? | 2012-11-22 16:23:00 Author: Unknown User |

Fantastic stuff! This is one entertaining level in a gorgeous looking, diverse setting. Jaw-dropping good actually. The 100+ hours of creating are clearly visible in all the detail and objects. Good intro & exit cinematics too. Interesting use of HUD, although half way through the level one of the yellow star huds stopped working. (We were playing two person split screen, only player 1 had this problem, second player still had the hud up and working.) Sackbots are incredibly stupid and docile. Maybe make them a bit more aggressive? Good job. Upped & hearted. Can;t wait to see what you'l do next. (My vote goes to the magic ruins...) | 2012-11-25 07:18:00 Author: pickled-punk Posts: 598 |
I just wanted to compliment how well you designed the layout and how fantastic everything looked. This level was easily the most aesthetically pleasing level I've played online yet and every corner just had loads of detail. The arena was also just really well laid out, the upper part was really cool and I especially loved that elevator you made. I might try to steal that idea if I can pull that off. The level also played really well, the game mechanics you introduced were really fun and everything played really well and I didn't really run into any problems. (The AI couldn't really play the game, but that's not really your fault.) Fantastic level, though, I really can't wait for your next creation. | 2012-11-26 05:18:00 Author: Unknown User |
Arastoph, as I mentioned in-game, this level really shines and raises the bar for all us other creators. I really look forward to your future work! I think the race through a falling apart factory sounds the best! | 2012-12-07 15:47:00 Author: Manlius10A Posts: 88 |
Hey everyone! Juts a quick update to thank you for all the plays and feedback! Thanks to you my level got enough attention to be picked for a "team pick" on the lbpk.me site!! I cannot thank you all enough! This is the first time i have ever been picked (i never got an mm pick) so i am very excited! Special thanks also goes to the adipose for creating a video review of the level, I believe that video alone bought half of the views to my level! And about time, too! By the way, I reviewed the level for a competition on the PS forums, and won. Hit my banner in case you're interested. | 2012-12-15 18:41:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
And about time, too! By the way, I reviewed the level for a competition on the PS forums, and won. Hit my banner in case you're interested. Ha ha! awesome job! your review on my level is perfect i agree with the A.I problem as well... though there is nothing i can do (yet) to fix it. If a future patch improves A.I pathfinding i will work on it some more to make it a more interesting single player experience! | 2012-12-15 19:18:00 Author: Arastoph Posts: 216 |
I just played this and loved it. The AI wasn't totally incompetent. They were at least able to pick up, and it's funny because as I was going back to drop off the last bit of fuel, Sackbuddy did it. It'd definitely be more fun with more human players though. I imagine collecting would be challenging since everyone would be fighting over very small areas. | 2012-12-15 20:30:00 Author: Remy Posts: 252 |
