Favorite intro video in a video game

What would you say is your favorite intro video to a game? If you don't know what one is, think of the ones at the beginning of LBP as an example. Usually you can skip through them, but they are still fun to watch at times. Well, I'll tell you mine. As being a big Sonic fan, I like the intro video to Shadow the Hedgehog. It shows another side to Sonic games, and the song that plays is freakin awesome (as it is the same one played at the final boss battle too). Here it is:

The thing that I also like a lot about this is that it shows how much a game can change from a kiddy, goody two-shoes game, to a violent, swearing, game where the world goes to hell. Now to see yours! (Unless you don't want to).		2012-11-17 15:29:00

The Shadow the Hedgehog intro is really awesome in every way.

And of course this game isn't out yet, but it has to be one of my favourite intro's ever.

Myself... Would probably be the opening of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, when after about a half minute of scenes in Hyrule Field, It goes to the scene in the Spirit Temple where it shows Koume and Kotake.

When I was little, this intro was one of the coolest things ever. Not only was I loading up a new pokemon game for the first time, but I was also given a chance to use one of the strongest, coolest looking Pokemon of that generation right off the bat. This was the intro, and it was playable too. It really gave you a warm welcoming. At least in my opinion:

Shadow of the colossus? anyone?
Really epic and atmospheric, and makes you feel strongly for Wander, the protagonist, despite the lack of any speech or context

WOW, so many to choose from.... First of all, have to agree with Bio - I think the intro for FFVIII was the first game intro I ever watched which made the hairs on my neck stand on end....

A close second (god I sound like a fangirl now...) Is FFX

I've never watched either of the LBP ones all the way through.

Also, considering it was on the Nintendo DS, this really amazed me. I still haven't finished FFIV though...

The ones that you can skip.

On a more serious note, probably the opening to Banjo-Tooie, long, epic, sets the tone right away, and you can skip it if you've already seen it once.		2012-11-20 16:13:00
