So is anyone creating something Non-Karting?

As the title says, is anyone creating something new? Like a FPS or a 3d platformer? I don't know, but I'm getting bored of just seeing racing levels for most of the community. Probably everybody is going to Create a racing track at first to get to know the controls, but later, oh yes, awesomeness will begin flowing. My problem with Karting so far is that nobody creates a complex enough racetrack. Something that can be compared to Story levels, or to tracks from other karting games. I'm trying to make some things non karting but I can't get the controls right. I know what I want to do and I can almost get a set up like a fps, but it comes out horrible and sloppy so it's not even worth using. Plus despite eveything you can do its also a very limiting game. Because everyjing has to be a "kart" to be useable in game it cuts back on a lot of possibilites. Also it doesnt help that they got rid of half the tools from lbp 2. If I still had things like the look at tool or advanced mover id already have out several games that arent just karting. much agreed yugnar, What I'd like to so see instead of cliche, remakes of other karting game tracks are new spins on them, yes they can still be faithful remakes but something new to make them stand-out even more would be a nice touch. | 2012-11-16 02:40:00 Author: Unknown User |

Haven't actually tried this yet, but I think you can emulate an Advanced Mover by combining 2 Thrusters and a Physics Tweaker (for the dampening). +1 for the pun. +1 again if it was unintentional. i will be making mostly arenas with twists (like capture the flag or boss battles) but when i do make a race level i intend to max out the complexity with challenging obstacles, stunning details and interesting scenery.. i love pushing the boundaries of the games simple mechanics and i always strive to make something better than the devs of the game have made An example of this is a test track i have in the works which is based around mystic floating ruins. The track is made completley of custom made objects which float and spin into particular positions depending on wether they sense a player nearby or not. Throughout the level parts will break away and rejoin the track depending on the lap number and a central bounce pad directs players down multiple breadcrumb tracks depending on their position in the race! OOOOH its so fun to create!! Finally something non karting i guess, i made a side shotgun weapon which fires 4 bullets in a spread shot either side of the kart and cause victims to swerve away from your kart and become partly sighted! i think weapons are the best thing to create, though i hate how often the game crashes when using emitters in emitters | 2012-11-17 02:45:00 Author: Arastoph Posts: 216 |
