Will I be able to use my saves? I can't lose the 100% materials collected and levels I have worked on. Does anyone know if I can make the switch without losing progress?

Yes, saves are compatible; I switched from physical to digital.

Can you tell me the steps you went through? I really really don't want to risk losing all of my progress. You don't need to do anything special, the PSN version will recognize your existing save. Just remove the game card from the slot and download the PSN version. I did also backup my save to the PS3 beforehand using Content Manager on the Vita just to be safe...

thanks for the help. did you ever remove the bubble from the physical copy? No, don't do that, it will be the entry point for the digital version...and I think removing it before hand will delete your save data.

Ok so I'm going to give this a shot. Back everything up, buy digital, download and don't delete anything. EDIT: Thank you that worked perfectly!
