Is blood allowed in a level? I wasn't quite sure what's bannable in those regards.

No right or wrong answer as it depends on the context in which the blood is presented. Violent acts are more likely to be moderated than scenery etc my general rule of thumb is that if you have to ask, it's best to avoid it.

Well, I don't mind pushing my limits if its for good effect. What about sword-fighting blood effects? Such as: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qRfziukTCk&feature=plcp EDIT: I have to admit after reading "Violent acts are more likely to be moderated than scenery etc" then posting the video and re-watching it, I laughed to myself so hard... As if this wasn't about as violet and gruesome as it gets, and a bit over the top. But I think thats why I like it. Its almost funny how over the top it is. XD

Let's repharse the question. Would this be content you would show to a six-year-old or perhaps your sweet innocent grandmother? I would say the video above is a little too violent in appearance. However if you would like a suggestion try this idea, use holograms to create red sword slash shaped swipes. It would not give a sense of gore and yet it would give that impact of a sword slash that you are trying to convey to the audience. This would be something similar to what one see's in a game like Soulcalibur.

A lot of it's down to whether someone good grief's your level. There's so many levels published that it would be impossible to check them all. They only get noticed if someone reports them.

Well, I'm not sure. I don't think so, but you know: a level of The Dojo in LBP1 had blood in it. And lots of it. It was sticker blood, but there was lots. And right below some spikes.
