How Do The Developers Work Now?
Archive: 7 posts
As many people know, the latest LBP games have been produced by different developers instead of Mm, such as Tarsier Studios, Double Eleven and United Front Games. Did Mm oversee the development of these titles, or have they given the rights away? In create mode of LBPK, many of the default items say 'By Team_LBP'. Is this a mix of Mm, UFG and others? If these developers have come together to develop LBP games as a group, I think this is brilliant as they're embracing the 'share' aspect of LBP in even more ways. My main question is; If there were to be an LBP3, who would develop it? | 2012-11-12 21:15:00 Author: Jakest123 Posts: 319 |
Well, Media Molecule is currently working on "Tearaway" for the Vita, but that's a side project. They're currently also working on a "Secret Mysterious Game" that's supposed to be bigger and more ambitious than LBP. If I were to guess, I'd assume it'd be a 3D LBP. However, since it's supposed to be a new IP, I am guessing they're doing away with the LBP cutesy stuff and instead allowing people to make their own graphics. Also, I'm guessing it'd be for the PS4. That's all just conjecture, but I can see it being so. Anyway, what we know for sure is that Media Molecule is working on a game more ambitious than LBP. What that means, we don't know yet. Here's a link to their project on LinkedIn: http://us.linkedin.com/company/media-molecule/secret-new-mysterious-game-864263/product?trk=biz_product | 2012-11-12 21:53:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
have they given the rights away? Those went a long time before we got LBP1. If these developers have come together to develop LBP games as a group, I think this is brilliant as they're embracing the 'share' aspect of LBP in even more ways. Thats fairly normal for modern game development. | 2012-11-12 23:54:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |

. If I were to guess, I'd assume it'd be a 3D LBP. I don't think Media Molecule is doing anything LBP related. They've completely moved away from the franchise from what I understand. | 2012-11-14 09:31:00 Author: bigMoose_ Posts: 183 |
I don't think Media Molecule is doing anything LBP related. They've completely moved away from the franchise from what I understand. Yeah I know, that's why I went on to say a more mature new ip. I'm guessing its be a 3D level Creator with LBP2 logic, but with more freedom graphics wise. | 2012-11-14 12:54:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
I could definitely see that. | 2012-11-15 01:09:00 Author: bigMoose_ Posts: 183 |
