List any visual tricks you know here!!!

I'd like. Go-to thread for all the visual enhancing tricks so post any you know! Complex ones, please explain how as well. Using attract modifier can add very nice magical flare or cold fog if used and made light blue. Nice for frosty levels! Counters can be made very small (but have to be made visible), putting decorations on these can allow for unusual decoration placement. Stretching the counters length will stretch the decoration for even more unique looks. An invisible hologram set to explode after .1 second, with a 0% sound on destruction, all emitted by a cross selector can create VERY epic looking fireballs. More to come. Post any visual tricks here! especially those that could be used for spell effects ( for me) | 2012-11-12 05:49:00 Author: RonPierce Posts: 131 |
Spells: how about a LED set to invisible on invisible Holo material? Turning up the fog on it should add a nice effect? When holo is set to dissolve or splat, its destruction animation takes on the colour of the Holo (as long as its NOT invisible a red piece of Holo (only needs to be slightly visible, say at 5%) will give you a red splat when destroyed You can turn the lbp1 spot light into gas (looks like a bulb with two pins sticking out of its base) very handy for giving lighting effects but unlike the solid object it can be placed INSIDE materials ( though once its turned into gas you can't move it Few simple ideas | 2012-11-13 13:42:00 Author: Shade_seeker Posts: 328 |
Very awesome, I'll have to give those a try, hadn't really tried messing with deatheffects on barely visible holograms. | 2012-11-13 15:55:00 Author: RonPierce Posts: 131 |
A lot of magical things can happen with a few decorations. I won't go into too much detail here, just try something out once. Honestly, almost every great level has a boatload of decos in it. | 2012-12-20 17:11:00 Author: Unknown User |
Whoa, I seriously didn't know about the stretching decorations oneA. I'll try that our right now! | 2012-12-20 19:57:00 Author: lemurboy12 Posts: 842 |
A sackbot in a small one layer booth made of metal with a hole in the head portion. Place 40 percent blue hologram over the hole. You now have a TV! | 2012-12-20 20:09:00 Author: qwerty123456 Posts: 309 |
I have this one trick where I bend my thumbs together hidden behind two of my other fingers. Then I slowly separate the thumbs. To the observer, it looks like my thumb is magically separating into two parts! It's very complicated and amazing. | 2012-12-21 08:50:00 Author: Unknown User |

If you stick an apple to another apple it makes a lovely looking rainbow O_o | 2012-12-26 10:47:00 Author: waaghgork Posts: 160 |

To the observer, it looks like my thumb is magically separating into two parts! It's very complicated and amazing. You ever put your index fingers together and hold them really close to your eyes???? It looks like there is a mysterious floating sausage in front of your face! also if you press really hard on your eyes, you see a bunch of stars and geometric patterns, whats that all about? | 2012-12-29 00:53:00 Author: Madafaku Posts: 738 |
Thack/thick layer, if you emit a hologram you can create a black hologram, there is also a little trick that can turn objects around to the front view (example: hamstertube showing only the circle). Its possible to make it rain/snow, but I don't know how its done (there is a lvl with a prize bubble somewhere). That are somethings I can come up with right now, I know most are old stuff. | 2012-12-31 01:34:00 Author: dutch Posts: 54 |
Oh the front view object requires a jetpack and a level post thing | 2012-12-31 08:49:00 Author: waaghgork Posts: 160 |
Yeah, you have to Select the jetpack and level post thing and resize them together. Can't remember the process, but there are lot of tutorials out there for that. | 2013-01-01 15:55:00 Author: Frenzie Posts: 308 |
Yeah, you have to Select the jetpack and level post thing and resize them together. Can't remember the process, but there are lot of tutorials out there for that. Select the jetpack and object you want to twist. Resize the jetpack and hey presto! Your object has been twisted. | 2013-01-01 22:22:00 Author: Protoraptor Posts: 960 |
With that way does the jetpack get destroyed and can you twist it vertical and horizontal? | 2013-01-01 23:29:00 Author: waaghgork Posts: 160 |
With that way does the jetpack get destroyed and can you twist it vertical and horizontal? The jetpack isn't destroyed, it just becomes really small. You can't control the way it twists, but you can keep twisting it as much as you like. | 2013-01-02 20:00:00 Author: Protoraptor Posts: 960 |
Oh cos i have an object which allows you which direction you want to twist it. | 2013-01-02 21:42:00 Author: waaghgork Posts: 160 |
