PS3 Spotlight

http://i6.lbp.me/img/bl/896e39c9b9b71de5850c4ee45a6eab0f2f5d8cdf.pngMines Of BoreasArastophThe Mines of Boreas located in the harsh, icy northern wastelands hides a large stash of treasure from a long lost civilisation. This fast paced platformer challenges you to set the fastest time through the mine in search of the treasure you seek. Large, complex contraptions, spikes, ice slides and fire pits (not to mention the odd pointy drill head) will all help or hinder your journey! Single player only. Music by Festered Jester.*During the mine cart sequence hold R1 OR L1 to change layer!!*I've fallen in love with Arastoph's levels time and time again ? and this latest creation of his is certainly no exception. Darting, ducking, dodging and diving through this seriously stunning mine kept me on my toes the whole way through. But still, after the contraptions within had been flingng and bouncing me around for a short time, I couldn't help but start to think: ?Whatever Dwarves/Cave-people/Insert-mining-or-cave-dwelling-critter-here actually lived here must have been furious!? These machines are relentless ? that doesn't stop this level from being awesome fun, of course, but jeez, I'm getting too old for this... stuff.Well this level has two things that I love, great contraptions and mines! Venture into this wonderfully designed terrain and encounter a plethora of unique gameplay mechanics that will test your reflex abilities. You'll be pushed, pulled and tossed around this level like a ragdoll, but a fast paced environment is not all the mines have to offer, oh no. There's a mine cart section that will give you a little thrill ride and bubble combo after glorious bubble combo to satisfy those high score seekers out there. Go ahead and don your best mining cap and jump into the Mines of Boreas.

http://ie.lbp.me/img/bl/65e8d2dc6f5be1dfee244c19211158b87d5d5bd8.pngINFERN O 3 - the coresiege299792You have saved the world by destroying the DOOMSDAY-MACHINE. Now you are lost alone deep inside the earth near the "CORE". Are you able to find a way out. Or is this the end of our Sackboy? His destiny is up to you! --- You like fire, magma, earthquake, special effects, action and bossfights? - then you will love this level !!I suggest playing this level when it's really cold out because it hot, Hot HOT! The story picks up just after you've destroyed the doomsday device. The evil mechanism is demolished and now you are all alone deep within the bowels of Craftworld. Just when you are thinking it's the end, the place starts exploding and collapsing all around you, leaving a way that you pray leads out. As luck would have it, it just might. You begin your ascent in a hurried manner because just as quickly as a path opens, it could crumble into nothing. The entire place is a huge furnace with every surface red hot and with flames, lava and hot steam all around. Journey into Inferno 3 and see if you're brave enough to make it out alive! What an absolutely storming level! Trapped in the core of the earth and seemingly doomed, a lifeline is thrown to you in the form of a grappling hook dispenser and you have a chance to escape after all. But with the world crumbling around you and hot lava spewing from every crevice, it's going to be a journey fraught with peril. It's an incredible, action-packed adventure from which siege extracts every possible ounce of drama with some great cinematics and wonderful special effects and the whole thing is topped off with a gripping boss fight. Your flight through fiery ruin and destruction will leave you breathless and amazed.

http://i7.lbp.me/img/bl/f27049ed1effe6809f8b1da6658641dd69fc0518.png(LBPC9 ) Like Clockworkse-mi92My entry for the LBPC9 Locomotion Commotion contest. Concept of the level is that there?s only 1 moving source, but a whole level that moves. Much thanks are going to Z1091990. 1 Player highly recommended, lag will make the lvl look broken. Music made by NK827
I enter this level and see that I'm in a dark place with a lone light shining down upon a single button. Hmm, what should I do? Risk pressing it and maybe set in motion a sinister trap? Seeing no other options, I press the button. Wow! The lights slowly come on and a whole mechanical world suddenly comes to life with moving gears and platforms and all sorts of contraptions to help convey me through this giant moving labyrinth. The level is decorated to the nines with great care and detail and you may just find yourself stopping every now and then to gaze at this engineering marvel. This level is a mechanical marvel. Restricted to a single power source at the beginning of the level se-mi92 has gone back to the drawing board and come up with all sorts of ingenious ways of getting your Sackthing from A to B. Giant gears turn, levers move and it's as though the whole level is one single magnificent contraption. It's beautifully and subtly decorated and accompanied by some great music. It's difficult to decide what?s more fun: the platforming itself or wondering at how all clever mechanics work. This is a real feat of engineering and one that?s carried off with great elegance and style.

http://i3.lbp.me/img/bl/ef39d59f2b703dfd1212547be31de6fcb61133ca.pngHallow een strange adventurealain251Hello everybody, I present you "Halloween strange adventure" . Platformer 1-4 players / Difficulty average. --- You are late to taking your train, and accidentaly, you fall... in a mysterious cave. Good luck sackthing, and Happy Halloween! --- Special Thx : chaosgear, Gangsta_lighting, kipovat and DJ Mastablastya for the epic music! The trick or treaters may be gone and all that's left of the Halloween candy is the twenty year old bubble gum that old man Jenkins gives out every year, but that shouldn't stop you from getting back into that holiday spirit with this great spooky themed level. You begin your "strange" adventure by missing the train and in your haste to catch it, you fall down into an eerie realm with ghost trains and haunting screams and skeletal remains that try and reach out and grab you! So go on, get your Batman costume back on and head into Halloween Strange Adventure. What sort of luck is that? Not only do you miss your train but you fall down an open manhole in the platform and find yourself in a sinister underground world where the train pulling out of the tunnel is a ghost train! You hop on and skeletal hands clutch at you, pumpkin heads leer at you in the darkness and you get lost in a labyrinth of tunnels and caves, never knowing what spooky sight awaits you round the next corner. It's a well designed and nicely thought out Halloween level with some wonderful animations and excellent music. So keep those Halloween fires burning and queue this level for some great spook-filled fun.

http://ic.lbp.me/img/bl/c9c019dc1ee0fd2358d311b0e7349beabf313fce.pngPuzzle Rooms 4 [1P]SneakySteve1983Welcome to Puzzle Rooms 4. If you haven't played through the previous levels then I recommend doing so first as there isn't a tuorial in this level and there are many different things to learn. The aim is to get from the red door to the green. Simple eh! Hold O at any time to exit the seat where you can move to the scoreboard. I've added some achievements in some puzzles and there is also a hidden one. Good luck p.s. Hold R2 to stick to one layer and Hold L1 and R2 to respawn.
Sneakysteve is back with my favourite level series on his earth: Puzzle Rooms! I confess, I'm still rather atrociously bad at these levels ? my brain is just too small to comprehend the magnificent logic on display. (No seriously. Complete the puzzle without touching the blue box??? Are you SERIOUS?) Puzzle Rooms 4 certainly does not dissapoint with more of the wonderfully addictive puzzles found in previous levels, with even more layers of difficulty and variation. And achievements too! If you haven't played this series, now is a superb time to go back and play the first three ? you'll be glad of the practice!I absolutely love this series! It amazes me that with each new chapter, SneakySteve can come up with new diabolical ways to challenge our brains. Like Ria said above me, you might want to take a look at the first three levels in this series so you can get a handle on what's going on here because this one, it's a doozy. He gives us so many different ways to leave these rooms, you've got boxes that stick, boxes that move, boxes that don't move, boxes that turn things on and one box that I think is just there to confuse me! I love it! As always, you won't find a sleeker design than in these puzzle room levels. Put those thinking caps on and go have some fun.

http://ia.lbp.me/img/bl/f3a14fcd17bec63905b84a294dbba9c8d602aea6.pngDARKAU RA Vr 3.9[ Vertical Scrolling Shooter ] (1Player) Part1 Headman-1000Inspired by castlevania, espagaluda, and ikaruga. Full game almost ready!!!!! (1P ) . Music Team: Headman-1000, UnderOath_77 , MastaBlastya, and Genasidal. All there is left to do is the polishing faze and voice acting and to add in the story.
Ok, this is some intense stuff right here. This is another one of those, "Am I still playing Little Big Planet?" levels. By now, we've all seen a multitude of shooters in LBP, whether they be vertical, side scrollers or space shooters, there's plenty of them out there. This one stands out for a few reasons. It's gorgeous! It has a fantastic soundtrack and the game voice was just awesome. I never got tire of hearing "Power UP!" or "FURY MODE!" The action is intense right from the get go. I mean, you press start and in comes a million enemies and the pew pew pew is on! You can't go wrong with this level. Excellent effects, cool power ups and superb boss battles will have you coming back again and again. This shooter is something special. It looks stunning; the level of detail in the characters, enemies and backgrounds is superb and whole thing just looks lush! Even the bullets themselves are gorgeous. The same attention has gone into the gameplay which is cleverly multilayered. Not only do you have the usual shooting ability boosted by a range of cool power ups but as in Ikaruga you have the ability to change the polarity of your ship/character to match that of the enemy. This allows you to absorb enemy bullets of the same colour and convert them into energy to power an awesome laser weapon. So success depends on your ability to switch your aura with lightening speed and things can get hectic when you?re faced with bosses firing a hail of bullets of both colours in overlapping patterns! The great music and voice acting ramp up the excitement and help make this one of the most polished, gripping and spectacular shooters out there.

http://i9.lbp.me/img/bl/e5966dd3a9247d950a886e578bdae90ed4acfe94.pngFull Speed Ahead, Boi! (Platformer)JAKEINATOR183560That Otto is a real jerk. Someone should ruin his day and put an end to his winning streak. Guess who has to do that. You must beat Otto and get the scoreboard with the help of The Jalopy of Righteousness so that all can laugh at Otto's face. Filled with "charming" characters and some crappy inside jokes, this level is recommended for the immature and maybe some mature people. Music by @Ultrafast72, and @JAKEINATOR183560. Have fun, and remember to check out. LittleBigLand.com!You are going to love this level! From the laugh out loud funny dialog, the silly characters and the funtastic gameplay, you are sure to fall head over hills for this. The gameplay is a refreshing break from your normal Little Big Planet level in that while you will be doing a lot of great platforming, most of it will be IN YOUR CAR! That's right. You are given the keys to the awesome Jalopy of Righteousness, and with this car you will have jump platforms, collect bubbles and dodge all sorts of obstacles in order to make it to the big race with Otto. Whew! The big race. Not your typical race as this nut is trying to literally destroy you! Get your race gloves on and go Full Speed Ahead into this level!Starting a level with some random references to Billy Madison suggested to me I was in for quite a strange ride, and I was not disappointed. Especially when I jumped into my very capable little car and speed off down a ramp, accidentally hit the thrusters and launched into a fire pit! Deft platforming skills as well as some stuntman like driving are required to make your way to save the damsel in distress... or get to the scoreboard... I'm... I'm not sure it all got a bit zaney with the plot, with some confusing love being central to the plot, oh and a giant monster truck... or something. If you?re bored with the usual platformer then is the level for you. It's a real breath of fresh air and may just be the start of a fun new genre of LBP levels: the car platformer! In the oh-so-cute Jalopy of Righteousness you must manoeuvre your way past a whole series of different hazards, with the car jumping and platforming its socks off (...of course cars have socks...), in order to reach the starting gate for a final showdown with the obnoxious Otto. Spurred on by his love for Sharon (whose identity you will have to play to find out) and just out of general loathsomeness, Otto is cheating and you will need to pull out all the stops to beat him. Fun, colourful and filled with wacky characters, this is a very engaging and all round blast of a level, which deserves a lot more plays.

VITA Spotlight

http://id.api.vita.lbp.me/img/bl/39defc1efd4112839ba781402e9776c8402e25b8.pngNoctur nalTheNotorious-187Notorious Productions invite you to the beautifully twisted world of Nocturnal. My first Vita level, made in seven days while on holiday. Emphasis on visuals and atmosphere rather than intense, complex gameplay. Hope you enjoy. (Silhouette / Interactive Environment / Prizes) (Ghost_Creators)Nocturnal, in its simplest form, is a beautiful level with a lot of scope for different paths and routes through the level. It's not rigid and this flowing structure compliments its beautiful visuals. It's one you really have to see to truly appreciate because words alone cannot describe it. Get playing this now!Video games are an art. This level is solid proof of that. Amazing is an understatement when it comes to describing the art design here. Haunting environments and wonderful gameplay will have you playing this level over and over. A true masterpiece in level making here.Nocturnal is just stunning. The level is extremely beautiful, with a silhouette theme and a vibrant backdrop. The vibrant colours just lift of the vita?s screen, it is a true treat for your eyes. As well as the wonderful visuals the gameplay makes full use of the vita?s touch screen, which flows so well and just works so well visuals. This level is an absolute must play!

http://i3.api.vita.lbp.me/img/bl/e5337c76e040ce834094f44a36d5f16a92c47c49.pngRequie m For A PachydermElvenbaneWooly Bully Prologue. Interactive story prequel to my first LBP2 level. A young cave person must decide if mammoths are friend or food.Have you ever wanted a wooly mammoth for a pet? Who hasn't? Now you have a chance in Fullofwin/Elvenbane's brand new level. A charming romp through prehistoric landscapes. Guide Pachyderm through hot, muggy jungles, ancient ruins, and caves filled with ice and snow. The animations the creator has pulled off is one of a kind, and I dare you not to grin, ear to ear, when your woolly companion sneaks past tribesmen looking to grill it up for supper. And the detail to the environments are stunning. Truly a one of a kind experience.Requiem for a Pachyderm is, in my opinion the most impressive vita level to date. The visuals are amazing, the use of the extra layer glitch gives the level so much depth it's unbelievable. The use of the lighting in the level gives the level loads of atmosphere you just get emerged in the level. As well as that Elvenbane created a completed new gameplay mechanic with a mammoth character, which created whole new fun gameplay ideas.Elvenbane?s talents as a PS3 creator are well known but he?s now shown that he can bring the same level of originality and artistic flair to the Vita. Your task is to guide a small and very endearing baby mammoth home. Being minder to a young mammoth is no pushover, though, as the local tribesmen appear to have mammoth steak on the menu for dinner, not to mention the local wolves! The scenery you travel through is simply beautiful and demonstrates just how effectively the 3d glitch can be used on the Vita. The mammoth himself is wonderfully animated and lifelike and the stealth and puzzle-based gameplay of your journey together is great fun. It's a testament to the quality of the level that you get genuinely attached to young Stampy so that it comes as a real blow if you fail to get him home safely and makes you only more determined to re-play until you get the good ending! An outstanding level in every way.

http://ic.api.vita.lbp.me/img/bl/53cc2b50a1cb7632545e1adcc10b4c67b6aef786.pngThe old factorytoad16You're lost, all alone in this old factory, you don't know who you are, neither where you are. try to discover it little sack. The Old Factory is at it's roots a platformer. But dig deeper and you'll find out what really makes this factory tick. Beautifully designed and a total joy to play. Fantastic environmental puzzles that are always fun, and never frustrating. And a real professional polish that makes everything flow perfectly. The story twist at the end will have you smiling. Guaranteed! Hmm, what is going on in the mysterious old factory? Give rein to your curiosity and have fun exploring. After all what could possibly go wrong? Toad16 makes great use of the layers and has you weaving in out of the factory?s many nooks and crannies, solving puzzles as you go. The platforming and puzzles are well designed and perfectly integrated into the factory setting. It's all beautifully crafted and done with style and a nice touch of humour in the final twist. I can?t wait for Part 2.

Great work guys - 98 episodes... I never thought I'd say this, but I feel old.

Congratulations to everyone spotlighted this week!

Thanks for the spotlight...no one should play my level however. It can apparently trigger a bug that makes your sack person all perma-glowy, see below.

I will likely lock the level when I get home from work...was getting pretty tired of the two-headed mammoth pictures anyway.

EDIT: Source of glitch found and removed, level is now ok to play.

Ah, man. How could I miss all the spotlighted levels? No matter, I queued it all. Congratulations. And congrats to the LBPK crew. Hope they're doing well spotlighting the Karting levels.

1000th post, YEAH!
