Eurogamer Article; The rise of Sackboy...

Hey everyone. Eurogamer has just published a new article (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-10-17-the-rise-of-sackboy-the-mascot-playstation-has-been-searching-for) about Sackboy and LBP. It contains a lot of interesting info on both LBP karting, LBP PSVita and PS All-Stars Battle Royale, and I think most LBP fans will find it quite enjoyable. Here's a short snippet from the article: Sony has for years struggled to create a video game character as iconic as Mario. Many have tried and failed to capture the imagination in the same way Nintendo's Italian plumber has. [...] Is Sackboy Sony's white knight? "Have you played the new Mario?" they ask. "What do you think of the new Mario?" they wonder. We're not quite there yet with Sackboy. No-one's saying, "You should check out the new Sackboy." But a year from now? Two years? Perhaps. That was a great read, thanks. I definitely have seen the rise in popularity and appeal with Sackboy and LBP this year. Don't get me wrong I loved LBP1 and LBP2 when they came out, but I always viewed them as these creative games full of sackpeople. I didn't really think of them having a mascot. But LBPV changed that and pushed Sackboy as the hero, and that in my opinion has made the games more appealing. Heck, you could see how crazy I am over the little guy by just looking at my signature! | 2012-11-09 18:28:00 Author: The5rozos Posts: 952 |
