The Temporal Traverse
Archive: 9 posts
http://lbp.me/v/gfr-hr This is a puzzler with a unique concept. The player has the ability to manipulate time. Holding L1 grants you direct control over time with the right stick, pushing it Left/Right will Rewind/Fast-Forward time respectively. It gets a little more interesting than that though; all the actions that you undo by rewinding time will be repeated by a mirage of yourself when you release L1. You must use your new found powers and your wits to overcome puzzles that would otherwise be impossible. This level seems to be, for most people, quite difficult so consider this something of a caution. Hope you play and enjoy. I'll very likely continue adding more to this level but for now it feels quite well polished and has a substantial amount of content so I figured I'd publish it for more people to enjoy. For more information, particularly about the progression of creating this level I have made numerous posts in the Ideas and Projects section which can be found here: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=74899-Unweaving-the-Fabric-of-Time http://lbp.me/v/gfr-hr | 2012-11-08 11:04:00 Author: Seku Posts: 65 |
reminded me to the game braid ( incredible game ) what a great idea really unique and rarely seen in lbp, excelent work | 2012-11-08 15:11:00 Author: vusco Posts: 183 |
The gameplay was actually inspired by braid. The time manipulation mechanics in this level are similar to those that you can find in braid. It's a magnificent game, for those who haven't played it I highly recommend buying it, I believe it only costs around $5 on steam these days. | 2012-11-08 21:20:00 Author: Seku Posts: 65 |
Just played your level and all I can say is good job. Like how you used the replay effect and it worked perfectly. The puzzles were done nicely, and the music was okay but think it could use a different song imo Other then that great job with this level, really liked it. | 2012-11-08 21:59:00 Author: Sabre_ Posts: 653 |

This wowed the heck out of me. Not only are your visuals impeccable but the game mechanic itself worked flawlessly. I love the character costume as it really fit well with the level. The puzzles themselves ramp up pretty quickly. The first two are easy enough, just your basic "this is how it works" kind of thing, then bam! Let's get this party started! I don't recall how many I got through, but it wasn't all of them. This is one that I'll have to keep revisiting until I can get it down. You may have to include some sort of walkthrough Anyway, it was fantastic and I loved it. Outstanding work man. | 2012-11-12 14:43:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
Played the beta, and I can say that I queued this so fast I think I broke the bell. | 2012-11-15 02:54:00 Author: Kalawishis Posts: 928 |
Great work, it's like the more cerebral cousin of Pacjonnos 'Ghosting'. Very impressive from a tech PoV, I've no idea how you make this kind of game mechanic and it all worked very smoothly. I gave up quite early on - like bio said it ramps up pretty quickly, and you need patience, but anyone looking for a genuine puzzle level should really enjoy this. | 2012-11-15 10:03:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
