that they are, OMG i'm pretty addicted to that game, i'm more excited to play that game again then i am to play SFIV right now. I have this thing for fighting games and in my honest opinion i think MK vs. DC Universe does it fabulously, it brings all the fond old memories in a fun and fast pased, addicting fight style.

I own the game and it's a lot better than I expected it to be. Green Lantern is my favorite at the moment. Unfortunately the game is on the backburner for now, because I'm still working on an LBP level and now that LOTR:Conquest is out...well, no doubt I'll be into that for a while.2009-01-15 03:57:00

Bah. Flash is a living Deus Ex Machina (look it up). Makes good stories for him hard to write. There aren't as many as there should be (for my personal favorites, see the Geoff Johns run a few years back.) He's my second favorite comics character (the first being Spidey) but truly good comics with him in are rare.

That being said, the game is great, even if the green lantern is the Hal Jordan version with very little imagination (yes, Kyle Rayner would have been better.)

To be honest, I couldn't bring myself to care about the MK side of things, I tend to just play DC. Honestly, it's what I bought the game for anyway.		2009-01-15 08:01:00

No, I mean look up the term "Deus Ex Machina" preferably on wiki or similar. That will learn you.

I just tend to ignore the MK guys because I'm bored of them, I've played as most of them since I was about 7. MK on the Mega Drive. Amazing stuff. I think I might already have you, I'll check.		2009-01-15 08:43:00

Well, the game shown on the Youtube trailers linked in the first post looked a lot better than what I expected. I enjoy a good deep combo fighting game, and it looks like they have got the potential for good variety and balance.

Flash has always been one of my favourite DCU characters. Some of the other ones looked great as well, and it looks like they have some of the less famous ones as well, like Shazzam.

But... my goodness. Those people in the trailers sure do speak quickly. It's like they filmed the video but it took 15 minutes, so the director told them to say the same things as fast as they could. I hardly understood half the commentary. :S

Anyway, I might have to look into getting this game. Have to see. 		2009-01-15 09:18:00

..? no fatalties....? Yes every mk and dc villans have them and there really good stuff the dc heros have burtalities

and mk have 11 charachters and 11 dc.... is fine by me

There is NO WAY that Spidey will be in the game. Marvel aren't idiots, they are marketing their franchises very carefully at the moment and they will not let Spidey into something with DC on the cover. Besides, he's got a good deal of games already.

I've done them all, and I nearly have done all a second time (doing them for a buddy) and I need like 15-20 minutes/characters.

I hate the #9 of the Joker because you need pretty much luck at this one, because it only happens once at over 9000 tries

Well, I did go and buy the game. Reading those bankruptcy news atricles, I am glad that I did.

It cost $120 AUS, the most they can charge for a game. 360 is the same price. Yes, I did shop around, it was the same price everywhere.

I'm guessing they have not dropped the price because of the news articles.

I'll try it soon enough. It looks promising from reading the game manual. Though I am suprised that Green Arrow is not in it. 		2009-01-16 23:04:00

Well, I did give the game a brief try. It's been a while since I've tried Mortal Kombat style games, I am more use to Tekken, Soul Calibur and Street Fighter.

It does look good and promising, and the moves feel interesting well. I need to get use to the system though as it has a different feel to most others. My initial thoughts as well is that it's not that kind on button mashers. People who can block and counter will beat the very few combos you can do with basic presses.

I'll definitely come back to it another time, but for the moment at least I can't see it taking up too much time, I still have LBP, R2 and Guitar Hero:WT to keep me busy. When I have a spot open up though, like after I finish the solo campagin of R2, I'll put more time into it. I'm on the final chapter and I think about half way through. 		2009-01-17 09:17:00

Yea, me and my mate have epic battles, and we only know the simple combos, none of the pro moves..... and the fights last AGES..! because we block heaps lol.

I gave this game another spin in a bit more detail yesterday. I'm still getting a feel for the combos and timing, and the special move execution is different and therefore harder for me to learn, but slowly I'm getting there.

I had a good play of Sub-Zero, and went to the DC story mode and finished the Flash's story without too much trouble. I was half way through Batman's story when I ran out of time.

But I'll be back to play it again some time. It's a different game, but a good one. 		2009-01-21 00:36:00

Yea subzero's teleport is useless, it's so slow although if you time his teleport right with his freeze defence it can make for a strong move. Yea flash is the MAN..! him and captain marvel are easily my favourites atm.		2009-01-21 00:42:00

Love this game...I think I'm the only person that I've seen that actually plays with Sonja Blade on a regular basis though. I tear people apart, that is unless you play as Scorpion. For some reason his teleport uppercut catches me off guard no matter what.

My only knock against this game is the crappy Fatalities. They really botched it in my opinion. Totally toned down the violence in comparison to the other Mortal Combats ><		2009-02-03 07:27:00

I mean it felt epic for an hour or soo... then It felt like the same canned moves and stuff over and over again... Alot of the stuff they did ive seen better in other Mortal Combat games... there were only two unlockable characters... the story mode although unique seem stale and dated. I think they should have stuck to their roots, not tried for a T rating and made it as bloody as valentines day at the Dahmer house... thats what mortal combat was supposed to be... I want to rip somones spine out and use his brain as a ventriliquist dummy... It just wasnt there for me... speaking of mortal combat, where were reptile, goro, Kung Lao, and Noob Saibot? and I could have done with more DC characters aswell. Just felt like they put a half hearted effort into this game, didnt impress me atall. as far as fighting games go I'll stick with good old tekken tag... never let me down...

Yeah I gotta say I was thoroughly unimpressed with the amount of unlockables in MCvsDC. I rented this from Blockbuster, so I'm gonna keep it for 3 1/2 weeks and then return it no charge. They should've included Lobo in the roster. Of all the DC characters, I think he's the only one who fits the MK universe/style perfect;y. He's violent, he's immortal, and he has face paint.
