The Resistance 2 Guild - LBP CENTRAL

I've gone and made up a guild for people of this site for Resistance 2 seeing as there does not seem to be one at the moment.

The guild name is LBP CENTRAL. The tag is LBP. The welcome message reads: Welcome to LBP Central, the clan for www.lbpcentral.com

I've set the guild in Australia (I'm Australian, and it will make it easier to find anyway).

It's casual and open. Anyone on this site can join.

The idea is that people with Resistance 2 who are on this forum and come together and have a go at R2. I don't intend to be going for the top of leaderboards, though others can if they want. I just want to relax and have fun in either co-op or competative.

I'll post the people in the clan here. Please state your class levels and competative level, as well as whether you have a microphone or not.

Yes, it has a smallc rack so it can't play...

Was a level 8 or so Medic (not much else, was a pure Medic despite usually being a tank guy :/. Just liked being able to heal).		2009-01-15 01:45:00

Well, it's meant to be a casual clan to hang out in. I don't have any intention of being competative or agressive in a general play sense on a clan scene, the intention at the moment is just to find other LBPC users and hang out together. If the majority of people wish to change this, that's fine, but that's what it's originally set to being casual.

The clan is set to open, so anyone should be able to join it without me knowing. That way I don't have to track it all 24/7. If it becomes a problem I can change that.

As for people who are already in other clans, I would not worry hugely about joining this one. You can still keep in touch with people through the friends list in XMB, it's just this is another avenue to keep in contact within the R2 game without overloading your friends list.		2009-01-17 10:22:00

I'm now up to a level 4 solider and level 3 medic and special ops.

I have sent clan invites to Boomy (who has accepted), Moleynator and vhalt101. I didn't put a space in the PSN for vault, as I don't think you can have a space for a PSN name.

I saw Boomy playing today, but he was in a party that I could not join.

So I ended up with a random bunch of Japanese players, 2 special ops, 1 solider and myself being the only medic.

It was hell. They never really bothered with the objectives or sticking together, and though I managed to get 2nd XP wise, we still failed miserably. I spent half the match running from one side of the map to the other trying to bring back some player that thought it was better to go to the other side.

Man, I hate groups that keep splitting up. It's Co-op, that means work together, not running off to do your own thing, causing yourself and therefore the whole team to get slaughtered. 		2009-02-02 13:28:00

According to Boomy and verified by myself, the servers were down. I think this was maybe half an hour ago though... I haven't gone back to check yet as it's already late and don't think I have time for a game.

yeah i found that the spec ops are the hardest to level up...the medic being the easiest and the soldier being easy only after you get some of the weapon upgrades(oh how i love the LAARK).		2009-02-02 16:12:00

I tried inviting iTorres32 and Warning12 into the guild, but for some reason the invitation did not work.

The guild is open though... you should be able to join without any hassles. If that does not work try applying and I'll happily accept...

I've now got my medic up to level 4. So that leaves the special ops to get to level 4 as well. I know those levels are not high, but I have a lot of things to do. :blush:		2009-02-05 12:59:00

I am At Competative level 24 and average level in Cooperative is I think 12 (i do not like soldier all that much at all, too inaccurate, but my medic is uber pwnage) And i have beaten the entire campain on hard and then on Superhuman, and i just hit level 60 Supream Commander, and i have 6000 kills... 4000 to go... *sigh* still quite a bit.

I actually managed to team up with Boomy today. If you are in the guild, you can press triangle to see firstly your friends list and then the guild list. If someone else is on you can try and join them. It does not always work, as the party might be full or it could be a private game, but it is possible to find others to join in.

You don't have to be in the guild either if they are on your personal friends list.

I was the medic who kept killing half the team by throwing a hedgehog... into the doorframe and back onto half the team... :blush:

Still, we managed to finish the mission sucessfully and I got pretty close to the top for XP. I'm not that terrible a medic... except when someone hands me a grenade... >_> <_< ;_;

Ah well, it means I get to heal more people... >_<

I'm now a level 5 medic though and have finished enough Chicago campaigns to get the second map unlocked. That isn't too bad for a casual player I think. I'm happy with my progress. 		2009-02-07 15:32:00

I'm a 5 medic, 4 solider 3 or 4 special ops.

We met in the wooded level... there were auger users and some titans, a couple of flying things... It you as special ops and two soliders, and I joined late as the only medic. We had some other people join us I think as well, another special ops.

I'm pretty sure I introduced myself, and referred to you by the name "Boomy" instead of your PSN. I was that medic who kept talking about the grenades, and the "high" kill count I had at the end. I was the only other mic user for that round... Still though, didn't you see the LBP guild name on the scoreboard? O_o

Anyway, the point is that two of us have met in game, even if one of us did not realise it. 		2009-02-07 17:16:00

I've got the solider up to level 5 and have unlocked the 3rd map. I usually alternate between solider (stand out front, keep shield up and firing) and medic (wait till people get hurt then do something about it). Apart from being an ammo bin, I'm not that good as a special ops (still just level 3).

I'll have to see if I can invite you Pinkcars. The guild is open though, you should be able to join without an official invite.

In other random news, someone invited me to a different guild, something like "Obama's friends" or something like that. Well, I'm happy where I am. I don't know why the invite came, might be because I was the only person with a microphone. 		2009-02-09 13:30:00

Well, I got my medic up to level 6 (and the solider is getting close to 6 as well); unlocked another map I can personally play (Brackwell I believe it's name is); officially invited Pinkcars into the guild (no response, but I don't expect it to be taken up immediately. He might not be online) and have a sore ear from some person who was playing static through the headset the duration of a mission.

Can't they hear themselves or hear the people complaining? It was driving me nuts. I'm also not liking people who just brag all mission. It makes me switch off to their voice so I can't hear important stuff like "behind you" or whatever. It's great they can get 20 head shots in one deathmatch. I don't really care though, I want you to work as a team and get the mission done.

Ah well, I think if I go for about a new map a day I believe that to be a reasonablish pace. I'm aiming for a level 6 solider, unlock all maps personally, and try and get within the top 100,000 in terms of experience for a class. Those are my short term goals.

I'm around 130,000 rank for solider and medic, in case you are wondering.

I saw Boomy again and joined him... twice. The first time he was not responding to the mike, I think he was afk, and the second time I joined him on a map, but I did not see him on the final scoreboard. I guess he dropped out. :eek:		2009-02-10 16:26:00

I could have sworn I explained it earlier. When you go into the game you can press triangle on the main menu. That will bring up a list of people in the party you are in (which should be no one at the start). There is some toggle, like square or triangle or R1, which allows you to change the list sort to friends and clan. If you see someone in the game, highlight their name and then select "Join their party". It does not always work though, as they might be in a private game or a full party.

If you join in with someone who is already doing a co-op game that has started, as an example, just choose your class and start the game. It's just like joining any late co-op game, except you know someone else online.

You can also invite them to join your party as well. That way you can form a group which starts off doing something together. I don't think this will work (the invitation) if they are already active in another map though.

Note that if you aren't that party leader and, say, select a map to join, you will be leaving the party you are in. The game will warn you if this is the case, but it will allow you to leave a party that is not going anywhere.		2009-02-11 09:46:00

Well, some of us live in different time zones, or play at different times within the time zones. I've had a few games with Boomy. He's on R2 quite a bit.

If I see others online when I'm needing a quick co-op game, I'll give them a shout.

Got my solider up to level 7, and special ops to level 4. Medic is still level 7.

But it's like the magnum, gotta know when to use it. On Axbridge when you're against the ghouls in a tight space, bounce some flame canisters off the ceiling and you should rake in some good points; or at least more than trying to squeeze a shot in-between everyone.		2009-02-14 21:57:00

yeah but with large groups the marksman secondary fire does just as much damage though i suppose its good if your out. i hate how it was so amazing in the campain but became terrible in the multiplayer2009-02-14 23:28:00

Ah, the orbs, I spam them so much in games ^^ they are so useful, I'm now always at the top with Spec-Ops , when I first tried him out, thought he stank out loud :O but I get more kills than with my Soldier :O always 100+

Just got my splicer today (My gas mask it but hours away...)

Is it me or is it incredibly powerful?

I've been chewing through chimera with ease, just plonk down a ring of life and I'm off, killing more than a spec ops with their marksman.

It could be that my 1337ness is amazing but the gun does around 20exp a second and when lots of people are around they just bounce and hit more plus 18 shots a clip (I think) and my uber gloves of reloading mean that it's almost a constant flow.		2009-02-16 15:03:00

I'm going online now, or in a few mins. Really want to get my medic to 30 but I got about 5 bad groups in a row and that last 1/4 of a bar is so **** small.

That's why you have to switch it up. Play some Co-op then some Competitive and if you're like me, continue with Campaign and maybe finish it for the first time.2009-02-16 22:00:00

I don't believe it.

I reach thirty and play with my new mask, looking coll amongst the noobs then I think 'Hey I might play the rest of my hard playthrough of campaign'.

I check my campaign and all of it is gone except for my experience (which shows that I've actually done it!). Being English I then started an easy campaign just so I could get all the intel again; the OMGWTFBBQ trophy would have to wait.

I get to the second mission and the game freezes. I leave it to see if it will fix itself and it doesn't. I turn it off and restart. I have initially lost ALL my data, apparently I have never played the game despite having most of the trophies.

After a minute most of the data is back.

After a game my Medic is back up to 30 with his mask (not much co op data was lost). Then I notice the entire campaign is gone, EXP and all and I'm down several ranks on my profile.

I am not sure I will ever play the game again unless Insomniac is kind enough to at least give me a completed campaign just so I can jump from mission to mission getting intel.

Having my stats wiped so easily is really starting to annoy me.		2009-02-16 22:45:00
