Sackbot scoring problem

Archive: 8 posts

Hey

I have a issue with sackbots grabbing an object and triggering a score giver. The logic is set up fine, it works when using sackboy, but change to a bot and the logic plays out, the object triggers the score giver, yet the points show up in black font and the points aren't awarded.

I thought it might be an option on the grab sensor (detects sackboy, etc) but I've tried every which way and can't figure it out.

Any thoughts?

Try putting the score giver on the sackbot's chip, triggered by a tag sensor, then put a corresponding tag on the object, triggered by a grab sensor.2012-11-03 19:39:00

Sounds to me like the game is unable to track the logic back to the source in order to determine signal ownership. Try checking out this (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=68357-How-to-tame-the-wildest-beast-of-LBP2-Logic-(aka-Signal-Object-ownership)) thread, it may help you out.2012-11-03 19:43:00

I tried both the sackbot chip and the controlinator chip and neither work.

I can't watch the vid, but that seems like it could be it. I've found a temporary workaround by setting point awarded to all players ('friends&apos, its a 1P only so it'll work out fine like that. I've also got a sackbot stored in the level as the master for the emitter, so there's definitely potential for conflict, but had no problems on my last level which had the same set-up.

there is a setup in this thread that works for multiplayer, so it should be fine for one player too https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=68949-scoring-with-sackbots&p=995915&viewfull=1#post995915

although if it is just one player, there is no need to store player data like in the above setup,
simply wire the active output of the controlinator to a tag, then on your object have the corresponding sensor wired to an AND gate with whatever u are using to trigger the score, then wire the AND to the score giver. just make sure you set the sensor large enough to cover the play area

Thanks evret, that works. As mentioned in the other thread, it only works if the top input of the AND gate is the tag sensor, not the trigger sensor, which strikes a non techy like me as a bit ludicrous. Cheers!

Hey julesyjules! I experiencing similiar problem. In my new level I have a sackbot that emitts scorebubbles which are collected by another sackbot (controlled by player) thanks to tagsensor connected directly to scorebubble. Everything worked great until new patch came out. Now I have problem with collecting scorebubbles because of some strange bug that makes tagsensor somehow unactive. This really drives me crazy and yes - I tried absolutely everything!!!!. I hope MM will repair it really soon...2012-11-04 11:36:00
