Golden Chain Reaction LBPC9
Archive: 3 posts
Hey everyone, just publicising my newest level, an entry in the LBPC9 "Locomotion Commotion" competition. It has the ordinary name of "Golden Chain Reaction (http://lbp.me/v/g-gqx4)." The level had to be highly kinetic in the style of a Rube Goldberg machine with only one visible power source acting across the whole level. I used a motor bolt and a sequence of golden chains from which parts of the level were powered. Gravity is important in some of the sections too and springs and elastic. Players could only use powerups to interact with important scenery elements so I chose the grapple. I only half-heartedly started and didn't really focus on entering until the last week and a half. It's not as polished as I would like and I have feedback from one friend who played it while it was unfinished so it may be riddled with bugs, who knows! Some of the devices may not mesh perfectly on every playthrough, such is the nature of LBP physics, but I've tried to tweak as much as I can in the timeframe. Have a go and let me know your thoughts. By the time I get home from work it will be too late to republish until the judges have played all the levels. After that I can make changes and improvements, once the competition is over. I was so tired at 1:00 am when I published it I only took three photos: http://ic.lbp.me/img/ft/7fcfc6ea3f702c812022bad21c31b61ad1640627.jpg http://i1.lbp.me/img/ft/0b18ae0df3fc0795a83ae334d761f72b5c06b81a.jpg http://ie.lbp.me/img/ft/fde1c27959cc4db83e4d95398dfd0f3e05a6ed13.jpg Many thanks! <3 (Ignore the attachments - there is no "insert image" button, I had to copy some text from the "Showcase-Essential-Guide-(For-Dummies)" thread manually and I couldn't see a way to delete the attachments I had added earlier ) http://lbp.me/v/g-gqx4 | 2012-10-31 21:52:00 Author: aratiatia Posts: 374 |
