Why was this movie moderated?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4h09Q34e9Q Hey guys, I come to you all today, with a question. Why was my film moderated, which resulted in me getting banned for a month? I'm not trying to act 'Sassy' or 'Rude', this question honestly had puzzeled my friends and I, and I just want to get to the bottom of it, so I can learn from my mistakes and not repeat them. I am upset though, because the level doesn't come off as appropriate, and it is not spewing out hate either. I try to keep my films kid friendly, with a little more adult humor to keep the older audience entertained. Infact, i havent had one single review of someone saying it was 'To much' or 'Inappropriate 'Although I do say a few things which could be 'questionable', I just don't see how I get moderated/banned for this, when I play tons of levels daily which features beyond more grotesque words and visuals. Oh well, help me out! Watch the video here...2012-10-31 18:25:00

There are some cases in which some derpy jerk of a kid gets jelly and reports it for no reason, and somehow it just qualifies as inappropriate for some crazy reason. I wouldn't blame it on your "questionable" humor, there are plenty of levels with buckets of blood and a few naughty words here and there, like you said, and this doesn't really cross the line.
I'm not sure, but stuff like this happens a lot, and it's unfair. My biggest guess is some ban-happy troll, but it could be something else. Hope you can get this back on track, I'd hate for movies like yours to get taken down haphazardly like this.
Well here's a perfect example right here, a lot actually, in this thread:

Do they really just completely take down levels after ban happy trolls just good grief them? Shouldn't they have some sort of system to deal with levels which get good griefed? I just assumed some LBP moderated played my level and found something inappropriate with it...2012-10-31 18:46:00

You're probably right. I'd take a look, it could be something unexpected. There have been some really stupid instances though, for example, one of lemurboy's levels got modded because it had a Pokemon in it. I'd also try contacting the mods about it and see if they can sort it out.2012-10-31 18:49:00

I don't know how to contact one, but I will look into it. I am more upset about my account being banned though, more than anything. It makes me scared and hesitant to make any more films, since one more ban and I am gone for good(You can thank my inappropriate side on COD games for that one haha).2012-10-31 19:02:00

Moderations have gone crazy a lot of times. I've seen more complaints about it. One day, someone could get moderated for even more rediculous things, like an Mm pick gets moderated for not being 'Mm Pick worthy', someone could get moderated because the level has a high difficulty to completion, or even a person gets moderated for making a level with content that some person didn't like. And I hope none of the three happen.2012-10-31 20:44:00

Having your account banned is a surprise to me - I think it was overkill.

Your movie is very funny and remarkably well done; I enjoyed it quite a bit as a matter of fact. With that said, I can understand why it was moderated. If I was on the moderating team I probably would have pulled it down as well.

There are a few things in your movie that likely added up to an overall verdict of moderation. For starters, the term "midget" is widely considered offensive these days. You also mention "cookie racist", and although edgy I don't imagine that really played a part. Still, if it was me I'd have phrased that part differently.

The second case makes mention of "touch Barney in inappropriate places" and "she told me she was 18". Again, funny but it made me cringe. I can see a lot of parents getting quite bent out of shape at that. "Gender: currently debatable" was another one of those borderline things that could go either way but I'd personally avoid if it was my level.

The last case is undoubtedly what got you banned. You directly attack LatinPlayer10, and while you kept things mostly polite something like that can't be overlooked. Consider Sony's stance as a corporation that is faced with the decision of banning LatinPlayer10. If they ban him and it's shown that he is being harassed by a level such as yours, it puts Sony in a potentially sticky legal situation. Yeah, I disagree too, but I don't make the rules. For the record, I think you were spot on and actually brought some much-needed levity to an overly serious situation, but I don't think the mod team had much choice in the matter.

Hopefully this helps.

That actually was a help, thanks. A lot of what you said makes plenty of sense. Jose (Latin_player), is actually my friend (surprisingly enough), and he thought that part was hilarious. He just loves any attention he can get, to be honest. I can see why it seems like I would be 'attacking' him, if you will. And yes, those other lines as you stated was deffinetly on the edge, but I mostly throw those dialogue in for 'Older' audience, assuming that it will just fly right above most kids heads. It's a tough choice, really. I try to make most of my films more geared towards the 'Younger Crowd', as it should. But yet, I am 17 years of age myself, and I sometimes just get tempted to use more 'Provocative' humor to not only try to keep everyone entertained, but to make myself pleased as well. I am just going to have to be more careful with the things I say, no other way around it. Shame you can't have an "Age Limit" for levels/movies, but that is a whole different topic for another time.2012-10-31 22:12:00

THE FOLLOW UP:

Just in case if any of you guys have been wondering, I actually found out why my level was taken down, causing me to get banned for one whole month. It turns out, than one of my friends placed 3 very 'Inappropriate Pictures' on the main sequencer I was using. I had absolutely no idea of this happening, since the photos were hiding behind one of the cameras I placed down. What accord afterwards was a series of un-fortunate events. Those three photos eventually got moderated (and rightly so), thus is why my level was taken down, because those three photos were hidden in the sequencer. Now, I have had 2 other levels published before this which were taken down by one of the LBP Moderators (back in LBP 1, where I was still very 'South of the potty&apos, so when the level was taken down because of those pictures, I was automatically given a month long ban because of it. So, after all of this, it turns out that it wasn't even anything which was said that got me banned. It is kind of humorous when you think about it. Oh well, Life goes on.

So it got moderated all because of a secret. Just letting you know, voices can get moderated too. I had a pokeball (really a community object), and somebody reported it. It got moderated because the voice sounded offensive.

Ahh, that explains it, which is why you should always create your "serious" levels you can on uploading by yourself. You'll get more done and you wont have to worry about cleaning-up after your friends.
