LBPV and BP2 crossplay

Archive: 7 posts

It would be cool if we could cross play with other LBP2 users with LBPV. The LBP2 users will not be allowed to have LBPV users place new features on LBPV in their level, kind of like trying to put a DLC in someone's level when they don't have the DLC. If a LBP2 user joins you in LBPV and you have new features in it, your levels will be saved and you will be automatically forced back to your pod. LBPV should be allowed to play LBP and LBP2 levels. And, if possible, LBP PSP levels.
Also LBP2 and LBP levels will have a decrease in graphics when played on the vita, and graphics wil be increased such as clearer textures and such when playing LBP PSP levels.

Does anyone else think this feature could be made? I miss playing with my friend and he does not have LBPV, just LBP2.

Sorry to inform you, but they are completely different games running on completely different engines. It would be like wanting LBP PSP to be compatible with LBP1. Karting MIGHT have a Vita port in the future with cross-play but I wouldn't count on it anytime soon. Sorry. 2012-10-30 22:00:00

I wonder if you would consider the cross-controller or whatever that feature is called under remote play kind of like cross play. i mean sure it's not playing with lbpv people but you get to use your vita and ps3 right? Now if you don't consider this good enough, too bad since they're right. The engines are different. Similar but different nonetheless.2012-10-31 05:09:00

LBPV and LBP2 are made by differet people and different engines. It's not possible. Either way you can't bring ALL LBP2/1 7 MILLION levels into vita which woud take forever cause more and more levels are created about every 15 seconds.
LBP PSP is COMPLETLY DIFFERENT ENGINES. That's insane. Not that you would want to want psp levels on lbpv. It would look completly different on lbpv. There is lots of great psp levels but they would looks strange on lbpv if it was exact. Also LBP PSP is made by cambridge.

So it's impossible to do.

But aren't published levels stored on the Sony servers and not the PS3 or PSV itself? You wouldn't have to download 7 million + levels just to play it on your PSV.

Anyway, I don't know about cross-play but I would like some kind of conversion tool that allows you to convert your PSV levels to the PS3 (converting from PSV to PS3 might be a bit hard though).

It wouldn't work, because each game has different features. And it's not that they can't access the levels on the PS3, it's just that the Vita version is a completely different game. Neither option is ever coming, and personally I'm fine with that. If you want to work on your PS3, you should be whetting your appetite for the Crossplay LBP2 DLC.
