I don't feel like explaining things, so please, just watch the trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_h95mEd4TI | 2012-10-26 02:36:00 Author: amoney1999 Posts: 1202 |
Nice find! I'm definitely going to have to see this come May. | 2012-10-26 07:43:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |
The first "Iron Man" movie is one of my favorites in modern movies, but the second one is okay. The third installment looks promising, so looking forward to see it next summer. | 2012-10-26 16:55:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
This looks like an awesome movie. I enjoy the idea of Ben Kingsley playing the Mandarin, but we'll see how the final product turns out. Also did anyone else notice that the tattoo on the back of his neck looked an awful lot like a Captain America shield with the Avengers logo in the middle? | 2012-10-26 21:33:00 Author: Patronus21 Posts: 266 |
It looks way more dark and serious than the previous movies. It seems Marvel is trying to Dark Knight it up. | 2012-10-26 22:11:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |
I enjoy Ben Kingsley as Mandarin too. Btw, this came out on Tuesday. But I wonder how Guy Pearce will do in this film, since his character shot himself in the eye on the first few pages. Rebecca Hall I hope will be good in her role. | 2012-10-27 00:12:00 Author: amoney1999 Posts: 1202 |
It looks way more dark and serious than the previous movies. It seems Marvel is trying to Dark Knight it up. Eh, that phrase is overused. What they're really doing is simply grounding it and making it more "realistic" in terms of character, and, let's face it, that can be a touch darker than the average movie. Besides, it makes sense after the events of the Avengers now that Stark has to come to terms with the character change he experienced there. | 2012-10-27 01:06:00 Author: Patronus21 Posts: 266 |
I agree the tone of this one seems a lot more dark compared to the other two, and I admit I'm a bit worried about the movie because of it. One of the things I liked about the first movie and to a lesser extent the second was that it struck a perfect balance between action, drama and humor. Its not that darker works don't have their place but a big reason why some of Marvel's more successful film adaptations work is that they don't take themselves too seriously given the source material. But I guess we can only wait and see. And on a more superficial note, I feel like the latest iteration of the armor has too much gold on it. | 2012-10-27 02:29:00 Author: Dapiek Absaroka Posts: 512 |

But I hope they don't mess up the Extremis suit. I also want to see Mandarin use his ring's powers. Thats what everyone knows him for, and if they exclude that, I am immediately going to not like the Mandarin in this film. | 2012-10-27 16:38:00 Author: amoney1999 Posts: 1202 |

You mean when he almost died in outer space? | 2012-10-27 19:59:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |
You mean when he almost died in outer space? Yes because... Cap was certainly right that there was a point where there was no way Stark would sacrifice his own life to save others. Now that his character has reached a point in his life as a superhero where he is able to, it seems like that's quite the character shift that's worth exploring. Sure he was willing to risk his life for Pepper in the first movie, but now he's done it for thousands of complete strangers. | 2012-10-27 20:21:00 Author: Patronus21 Posts: 266 |

Now Marvel, please don't kill off Pepper. | 2012-10-28 00:17:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |
Good observations. Now Marvel, please don't kill off Pepper. Agreed. I absolutely LOVE Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts. If they make her die, I will immediately stop watching this film. | 2012-10-28 01:40:00 Author: amoney1999 Posts: 1202 |

Thats what everyone knows him for, and if they exclude that, I am immediately going to not like the Mandarin in this film. I am wondering what this version of the Mandarin will be. If nothing else, he doesn't seem to be the Chinese Imperialist would-be world dominator that he is in the comics which might actually be an improvement (though it does make the name a bit strange), but is he still the guy who got a bunch of superpowered rings from an alien ship? I mean, it seems a bit out there given the tone of the other Iron Man movies but wouldn't really be out of place given the rest of the stuff that goes on in the other Marvel films. | 2012-10-28 01:49:00 Author: Dapiek Absaroka Posts: 512 |
(though it does make the name a bit strange) Maybe he's just a really big fan of the Mandarin Duck in this continuity. | 2012-10-28 01:59:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
Agreed. I absolutely LOVE Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts. If they make her die, I will immediately stop watching this film. I would be completely shocked if they killed her. At the very least they have to turn her into Rescue first. | 2012-10-28 03:01:00 Author: Patronus21 Posts: 266 |
I'm just glad that Don Cheadle returns. Terrence Howard made Rhodey miss out on his character, while Don Cheadle just made the character fit all the way. But it would also be cool to see Pepper turn into Rescue, although it feels like they are trying to add another one of them (like how they added War Machine in Iron Man 2). | 2012-10-28 05:51:00 Author: amoney1999 Posts: 1202 |
I am wondering what this version of the Mandarin will be. He considers himself a teachurrrrrr. | 2012-10-28 10:37:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |
He considers himself a teachurrrrrr. And he also doesn't believe in heroes. | 2012-10-28 19:32:00 Author: amoney1999 Posts: 1202 |
