in/out mover & Touch-Problems

Archive: 6 posts

Hey,

i'm pretty new to the editor and yesterday i've encountered some problems with the in/out mover in combination with the touch sensor... well, i'll try to explain my problem (it's a bit difficult because i don't have the english version of the game so i don't know the english names of the functions...^^)

I simply want a block to move the layer. it is currently in the first layer and i want it to move backwards when touching it.

First Problem: How do i get the Block do be agravic? With this one option (don't know the name... this red-pinkish thingie with an apple on it) i can make it agravic but then it won't move at all^^

Second Problem: I put a touch sensor on this block linked it with the in/out mover. i set the sensor to direct touch and the mover to "move 1 time backwards". But nothing happens! if i touch the block the sensor lights up, but the block stays where it is^^

Simple one here : ) it happens to us all 'Is the block set to Static?' Any object set to static is rooted in place and cannot be moved. Adding an anti-grav tweaker to an object but setting it to 100% dampening like you said is the alternative which does allow for In/Out movement. Also make sure there is nothing behind the object you're trying to send backwards : ) hope this helps!2012-10-23 11:53:00

I have a problem too. I have the in/out touch thing doing it's thing now, the dampening was the trick. Thanks Hallm3!!

My problem is, I have it all sent to a timer, so lets say, you push the blocks out from the back and make a bridge. It works, but I want it so you can only push it once, before the timer expires.

The way I have it, you can just keep resetting the timer everytime you touch the sensor. So the player can cheat. I can't have that. :kz:

I have tried a few things but nothing works. There is no one-shot setting on the touch sensor, so I honestly don't know how to do this.

Any help would be great!!

The best way to make sensors only work once is to connect the output of the sensor into a one shot counter. That way it'll only turn on once and then stay on. If you are just resetting a timer, that'll work just fine.

Once the timer reactivates you can reactivate the sensor by feeding the timer signal into the reset of the counter.

I hope that was clear- I can sometimes confuse people.
