My first level: LLUVIA
Archive: 10 posts
Hi everyone!, First of all, I introduce my selft, Im new in the forum and also in the community of LBP. I have to say that Im so excited to find out about this game. I wasnt expecting so many hours on the game (I didnt have PS3 so its really my first deep time), because I only play once with the company ps3 console, LBP1, but I didnt really get it, until I start creating with the Vita and I saw all the posibilities of the game in other community levels :O So I start making my first level, and I could say that its a beta still. I thought that maybe I can publish now and get some feedback, because Im really lost in some stuff that I cant find in the videos, or I think maybe its working and its not ![]() Right now, problems that I have that I remember: 1-Elevator!!!! my god!, The only tutorials that I see, its the elevator with switch or a button plus a chain, but I will like something authomatic, any clue?. 2-Position sensor: How to make them work just one time??. The lady that appear, before it keeps saying the same message everytime that you go close to her, until I use a label... but i dont think that its a good solution.... :S 3-The fire material: its posible to make it "Ghost" for the other stuff but still hurts the people? 4-The instant Camera After taking a picture: can I put it in the background just after its taking? while the player keep playing? there is more stuff, I will post it later ![]() btw: sorry for my english ![]() ![]() bwt2: I love this community! http://littlesigplanet.com/vita/v/992t8/wallpapers_vita/full/sig.png (http://vita.lbp.me/v/992t8) | 2012-10-22 09:31:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Hi! I just played your level and i have to say it's really really fun. I think the cog wheels are turning pretty fast, so the last jump was a bit challenging ![]() Unfortunately i can't help you with your problems, i'm also pretty new to LBP ![]() | 2012-10-22 12:15:00 Author: Chup ![]() Posts: 95 |

Lluvia Level (http://vita.lbp.me/v/992t8) Well, I can probably help you with some of your questions, and I'll queue up your level for when I have internet. To be honest though, your questions would be better served in the help area. 1) There are many ways to make automatic elevators. One of the best ones now would be to create a positional piston and feed it a signal that represents the length you want it to be. You'd need to have some way for the player to select the floor they want to go to, then just change the input into the piston to the desired strength based on the floor they choose. I think that covers what you asking. 2) If you only want something to activate once and stay on you can put the signal into a 1 count counter, that will make the input stay on forever. If you want it to just happen once and then turn off, you can put the signal into an AND gate and an inverted one count counter, then wire the output of the counter into the AND gate. Then you will get a single pulse when the switch turns on, and nothing for subsequent passes. 3) I don't know exactly what you mean, but from what I can tell dephysicalized fire material does not hurt players. 4) I don't believe you can use snapshots taken during gameplay in your level. The player could use it as a sticker, but there is no way that I know of to do it, and I highly doubt there is one. I'll play your level tonight and leave a review. | 2012-10-22 17:13:00 Author: ChrisF2112 ![]() Posts: 265 |
Thanks Chup!, I know the cogs its a little bit fast, but i dont know if i wanna make it so simple, what do u think is better?, i think its a little bit tricky in the bad way still. And really thanks for your help ChrisF2112!. If you play in the end the level, you will see that what i was looking was a really simple level. I didnt thing in the piston, i thought in a chain, but i guess now that the piston it make it straight and doesnt swing, so would be better (if is invisible posible, its more better). And about the level, is only one: down... so thats why i want to make it that goes down alone just when you enter in the plattform... i think mixxing a piston and position sensor will make it better... and then maybe drestroying the plattform, cos i dont really want the people going back. About the activation once, I will try with counter, I didnt think about that, I think I know how you mean. The dephysicalized fired doesnt hurt... but its really good efect seen how the fired is comming from inside the floor, thats why i wanna make it dephysicalized. And the snapshots its a shame, it could be really good ad ![]() Thanks to playing and the feedback! ![]() | 2012-10-22 22:01:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Hm... hard to say... but you're right, too slow would be too easy. I think the speed of the first two cogs is good. the last one is a bit too fast in my opinion, but after a few tries the passage isn't impossible to master... ![]() | 2012-10-23 10:21:00 Author: Chup ![]() Posts: 95 |
It was quite good! I thought that the graphics were good, and the gameplay was fun. The elevator near the end seemed unwieldy, but it wasn't terrible. Good first level! | 2012-10-23 19:26:00 Author: ChrisF2112 ![]() Posts: 265 |
For someone completely new to LBP that was a good first level. You created a nice spooky atmosphere and had some fun bits of gameplay. You just need to keep creating to get better and more polished. If you have questions, try the Help section here (http://http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?157-LBPV-Help!), as Chris suggested. Good luck! | 2012-10-24 16:11:00 Author: shropshirelass ![]() Posts: 1455 |
Thanks you! Well its good to know that im on the right way ![]() I continues with the level, and try to make the cogs easier. And the elevator i use a piston and works great now (thought I have to put a wall behind because sack jump back if the elevator go down! ![]() ![]() About the position+counters + NOT im testing some stuff and now I start undersanding better the game, its great!! ![]() ![]() I have some more question, but I will continues creating and then I will open a new post in the help forum (sorry about that ![]() If I update the same level and overwrite, do I loose all the data of visiters? or its just like a update?, i guess start from zero the counter again Thanks for the opinions, it really help ![]() EDIT: Well, I finish my first level, and update it. Its not how i want it, but i have many troubles in the way, but I think was a good way to start lerning. I still have a lot to lern anyway ![]() I wanna do more chapter of this level, but my next one I will make something different. And I will start using the grid from the beginning!!! (yes... i didnt know that the grid exits when i start to make this level ![]() ![]() I hope you enjoy it! | 2012-10-26 09:11:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
