Hi everyone, all who know me, knows my disc reader broke, BUT I got a new ps3! I did a data transfer utility thing and everything went well, even my cod blops save went well (I played it and it worked), except for my LBP2 save data. It did transfer but when I go on LBP2, IT CREATES A WHOLE NEW SAVE!!! I can see the data in the Game Data Utility but i can also see the new data... I haven't been on lbp2 since my ps3 broke (last year) and I have no Idea what to do. I've tried changing my system username to the same one in the data (Ryanz19 Littlebigplanet 2 account, or something like that) that didn't work. I've tried restarting the ps3. But it always just goes on the introduction level when I play. HELP meeee!! Thanks, I will try all your suggestions.... HELP!! Bytheway.. Ignore my signature pic.

start menu, import backup, done. Well i can't do that cause you can't import backup from Game Data Utility, only the Saved Data Utility AND I haven't backed up before my ps3 broke

This game, I love it, but the save data is like a house of cards. There is conflicting information out there about this problem, some folks swear up and down they can transfer save data between PS3s all the time, and some folks describe constant issues with profile changes, swapping hard drives or changing to a new PS3. My own experience has been the latter sort. Any sort of change to the system whatsoever voids all LBP2 save data. Backups don't work. Transfers don't work. Possible fix: if you have the old save on a USB drive, copy that to PC somewhere safe. Play through the game creating new save data. Just get far enough to unlock the stuff you want/need. Copy the new save onto USB, put that in your PC and copy the old save over the new save, renaming it to match the new save name if necessary. Get that back onto the PS3 and it should give you all your costumes and items, but probably not story progress or moon levels. It might also give you that annoying "this profile has been copied" message every time you log in from now on, and trophies are disabled. In the end I've never had full success with this stuff and just end up replaying and re-collecting all items to 100%. Check the troubleshooting hotline for Sony or the LittleBigPlanet people as indicated in the box. Hope you sort it out!
