Not a ton of new info, but a conformation on no image importing. Also, there will be rumble, and there's a limited amount to the times you can respawn. Other than that, it's mostly stuff we knew.

8. Glassy orbs containing prizes have now replaced the fluff that previously functioned as points.

This just makes me think that either a lot of these booth demonstrators just don't know what they're talking about, or the interviewer is interpreting the information wrong.

The still have "fluff" in the game, they just haven't come up with a new name for it yet. Prize orbs as the only means of collecting points would be stupid.

I didn't understand the London and Manchester thing, either. So, they're going to have LBP "kiosks" where you can go and play the game? That's what I got out of it.

I can't believe I missed it in Baltimore - twice! It's only two hours away, and both times I found out about the day after. Off-topic, but similar to the kiosk thing.

Read what it has to say about their release to the UK. I'm pretty sure that explains it.

I'm on about the November part.. I swear, if they don't release it in October, I'm gonna go fracking nuts.. I have Mocks in November, so if they screw me over, they'll never hear the end of it..

The release date for the USA is Oct. 21st isn't it? If so, and you guys get it later, I will be sure not to flaunt it...haha.2008-08-16 18:52:00

Don't trust this interview one bit. I'm 100% sure i watched a vid where someone from MM said you could alter the amount of times you respawn for your levels and I would think there would be a unlimited option. After all you ment to have the freedom to create a level and have people play it in the way you would like. This dude is just going on what he's played and i wouldn't take anything anyone says as hard facts unless it's from a proper MM member (even the demo staff at some of these smaller events won't know anything for sure)2008-08-16 19:14:00

"12. Everyone will be able to have a go at level creation! Shops are expected to be set up in London and Manchester from September onwards for a period of four weeks, though I am awaiting confirmation of this."

2. The rumours are true; only PlayStation Eye images are available for use in the game. All images will be stored as game data separate from the photo albums in the XMB.

im not sure about that one ^^^^^^^

I swear to God...MM needs to make an official statement about image importing...because it basically will nuke the majority of levels I had planned...2008-08-17 01:44:00

I think rumble will bring a little more fun into the game and if you only got one controller then you should get a second one and make it a dualshock. I enjoy the rumble in games but in some games it is not really needed or use it too often.2008-08-17 08:56:00

i dont think the rumble would bring anything "New" to video-games...
i remember fighting my brother for the rumble-pack for the n64... now its old news.

The fluff is the glassy orbs. The yellow balls that you pop are no longer in the game, instead theres glass orbs that you collect. They're absolutely correct in what the say. It can be seen from the videos.

About the image importing: It doesn't really limit that much at all. It just prevents you from 'cheating' and forces creativity. Just like the guys at Media Molecule couldn't cut corners when making levels to ensure that the editor tools were top notch, having to use the in-game stuff to create everything makes all the levels a bit more original and a bit more creative.

In the end, I don't think it's a bad move at all.

Exactly. Plus, it will limit the amount of bad quality images that people are sure to put into the game. It just takes the atmosphere from it all.2008-08-17 10:21:00

What do you mean "bad-quality"? Have you seen the Eye's resolution?2008-08-17 12:16:00

bbroman, if I'd have to guess, I think he meant that if it were that easy to import images to the game, people would import all sorts of crap without much of a thought. Not bad quality resolution-wise perhaps, but just lousy images.2008-08-17 13:11:00

Ah, okay. But at the same time, couldn't you argue that a lot of "good quality" images will be left out?

Yes, but that would be probably around 5%, and bad quality images would take over more than 50% of the total amount (my guesstimates). The rest of the imported images would be so-so - images that the levels might not really need to be good.

You'll come to find out that the good stuff really is just the tip of the iceberg. There's a whole world below the high quality products.
