Skylanders: Giants

Archive: 7 posts

Skylanders: Giants is the sequel to the very fun and quite addictive, Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. This game works a lot like the old game: you have the Portal of Power, and have plastic figurings to put on it, and play as in the game. There are still all of the 8 Skylander types: Fire, Life, Water, Undead, Air, Tech, Earth, and Magic. This game will be for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, and 3DS. The figurings still work in the same way: they work for all systems and save all of the data. The Wii U version is said to have more features, like online play. There will be new Skylanders, and the Giants. There is one giant for each type, so there are 8 in all. They are twice the size of a regular Skylander, and can break down walls, throw giant rocks, and can smash planks. There will be 2 versions of the game to buy: The Starter Pack, and the Portal Owners Pack.

STARTER PACK:

Portal of Power
Poster w/ all the available Skylanders
3 Skylanders (Tree Rex, Cynder, and Jet Vac)
Game

PORTAL OWNERS PACK

1 Skylander (Tree Rex)
Game

You will be able to use your old Skylanders from the first game, with all of their saved data still with them. If you got your old ones to level 10 (the highest level), you will be able to get them up to level 15, which will take a VERY long time. Something I find cool about this game is that there is a trading card game in the game. In the game you can collect cards from defeating opponents or buying them, and can be traded or used to play the card game. Its like playing Pokemon TCR in a video game. I'll show you guys the trailer now:

Also, Kaos does return in this one.

Have you actually played them? They're really fun games. And it's not like the post-Insomniac Spyro games were good anyway.

I agree. I got this game on opening day, and it rocks. it sucks that it is 5 chapters less though. But,Elijah Wood was in the Legend of Spyro trilogy. I have to say that my favorite has to be Swarm, the Air Giant.

I have played them and it would seem gameplay was a second thought to the (admitidly very clever) money making scheme behind the games. Due to the success of these titles spyro will likely never return to form and will forever remain a wierd bullfrog creature. they were actualy disgusing releasing a new game similar to the originals if this bombed but now the is unlikely to ever happen.

also I recon the legend of spyro games were alright. not great but definately better then games like enter the dragonfly...

I will fully admit that I am a little bitter about their use of Spyro. However, as someone with experience in game development, I have to applaud the developers for creating what appears to be a very fun and unique game that has received both critical and financial popularity. Good for them. Though I'm still not playing it.2012-10-26 00:37:00

I have to say that this is WAY better than the first. What sucks is its shorter. But atleast all of my old Skylanders transferred and my Darklight Crypt stuff works.2012-10-26 02:31:00
