You Can Do Anything With A Sackbot! (sackbot programming tutorial and item giveaway)

Archive: 4 posts

This is an item give-away level demonstrating some of the things you can do with sackbots, and then giving you the items so you can experiment with and learn from the logic.

The level demonstrates 3 sackbots:

The first one is a sackbot that copies the player 1 sackboy completely, a good blank template. (includes ability to use all emotions as well, which had to be programmed in)

the second one is a sorceror sackbot! Aim with the left hand and press Triangle to shoot fire from your left hand! or aim with your right hand and press R to summon a bounce bad! Imagine the possibilitties!

Sackboy 3 has achieve man's oldest dream - HE CAN FLY!!! With some simple and easy-to-tweak logic, I've made a sackboy that can fly for short periods of time. If you want to use him, or tweak him simple grab him and edit the logic in your level!

I made this level because I'm going to be using a sackbot with a different (and much less impressive) special power in my next level, so I made up a few variations in the hope as to help teach and inspire other users with the possibilitties of what you can make sackboy do in your levels providing you have him control a sackbot.

I hope you enjoy it and find it usefull!!

I played it, and I can see how it could help some people, but it was really no use to me. The flying sackbot didn't really fly either, he just kind of bumped himself into the air. I would have just put a mover on it, but that's probably a bit harder to regulate.2012-10-18 13:21:00

The sackbot is connected by a mover. I set up the logic so that with the gravity setting he was flapping his arms into the air, but also would land as he grew tired.

The aim of it was to help demonstrate what kinds of things you could make a sackboy do in your level as well as show the chips and logic used in each one so that they could be customized or explained.

Like I said, they're all just variations of the work I was putting in for my next level, however since I'd put time into getting the default one to work I figured I'd share it and some of the experiments.

It's actually already recieved a lot more plays than I was expecting

Already at 100 plays? I find it funny that it got more than both your actual levels combined. Geez... sometimes I just don't get people.
