Clocks

I've been working on an item for a clockwork/mechanical level which is basically a giant clock. You grab onto the hands and it goes round the clock. I've planned to line a few up and you have to hold onto one hand then jump to a hand on another clock. Just wandering whether you guys thought it was a decent idea or not.2009-01-13 20:45:00

I think it's an excellent idea.

Then again I also made the same thing last night^^. Look for it in my upcoming level "The Dream Reaper"

I made the arms out of grabbable material, and sacrificed having two independent arms on motor bolts (instead my hour and minute hands move at the exact same speed on the same axle) to keep my object down to 1-thick.

To have two independent arms moving at different speeds you would need to utilize at least 2-thick layers total.

I compromised by setting the distance between the hour and minute hands differently between all three clocks in my level. The visual effect is preserved, so even if they don't behave like real clocks, the idea works well.

Yes, I had a similar problem and solution. I'll have my clocks up on my level "Like Clockwork" when it's finished.2009-01-15 16:35:00

This sounds interesting. I always like technically complex stuff.

A whole level based around a giant clock certainly is an interesting premise. Keep us informed.
