Loop-de-loops

Archive: 5 posts

So, I thought about creating a Sonic-style level with a sackbot behaving like Sonic, but I can't get the loops right; no matter how fast I go, he just refuses to run up more than 90?.
I tried the rocket rotator (that succeeded in rotating the bot in the wrong direction), changing movers to local space, including a mover that moves it down so it's always "pressed" against the loop, but everything to no avail.

Any ideas?

OBS: I thought of Attract-O-Tweaker, but I don't own the Muppets pack and don't intend to, so I'm looking for a better alternative.

Do you activate an antigravity tweaker when you enter the loop? The local space mover should work with the tweaker activated. You can use a speed sensor to turn the anti grav tweaker off when you're moving too slow, or else the sackbot would just float there! You may not need to set anti gravity at 100%, just strong enough so you make it around the loop.2012-10-09 07:31:00

I've seen a tutorial of this on this website. Try googling site:lbpcentral.com sonic loop, it works and gives you this tutorial (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=67302-How-to-make-a-Sonic-the-Hedgehog-looping) as the first result 2012-10-09 13:15:00

Tried following the tutorial, it mostly worked but the bot still stutters when entering the loop at high speed, I hope I'll sort that out next time. Of course, I didn't follow the tut strictly, since my bot works differently in terms of gaining speed, and have yet to implement the layer-changing part (planning to do it once I get the loop physics right).

Still thanks guys, I needed that help : D I still have a lot more to work out on that but wanted at least to get the loop right, by now. Now if I only knew why he still stutters...
