Whenever I click on the blogs sections to keep track of my progress on my level i get a 403 error

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /forums/blog.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

If comments have been enabled, you can post comments when the blog is published. If blogs are like topics, then the entry will be the OP as the comments will be the replies.		2012-10-11 23:07:00

LBP Central faces technical difficulties, usually. One time, the site was down for over 24 hours. There was also another time where topic pages are weird looking with HTML words in it. To be fair, we don't know why these issues happen until the situation is resolved.		2012-10-12 01:32:00

Why are there so many negative comments about Apple2012? I don't get it... I haven't been caught up with LBPC for a while since I faded away from LBP2 since a mixture of PS3 problems and other things took my interests elsewhere. From what I hear Apple seems like that guy that's so ridiculous, everyone just loves to hate him. He's a conversation starter/icebreaker topic that people allude to in order to relate to one another on LBPC. No one actually hates him, it's just they can't take him seriously because of his odd or offensive or whatever type of comments. Am I close?

On topic though, is there still no word? It's been down for like 3 days. I don't want to have to retype my plot intro!		2012-10-12 03:38:00

Well, I asked the administrator, and he said that he doesn't know why blogs are down. In fact, if anybody knows why the blogs are down, we have to contact him and let him know why.2012-10-15 22:36:00

Thanks for checking in Rogar - nothing just yet. :| Seems to be permissions-based on the backend (perhaps something to do with the hosting server config). It's still being looked into and is most definitely on the top of my list. 2012-12-11 21:03:00

The blogs are simply down till a solution can be found. Taffey is a really busy man!

However as a suggestion ... if you are wanting to apologize to someone, wouldn't it be best to send them a PM directly or possibly post on their visitor page? For some reason the thought of doing a blog to someone who may not read your blog or be interested in your blogs seems a bit nonproductive. Sort of like plopping a wet paint sign to warn folks about the front door in the kitchen pantry. Just not reaching your intended audience.

...unless of course they have added you to their "Ignore List" here on LBPC. Then you simply have worn out your welcome in their mind and you might just have to learn from the experience and let it go.		2012-12-23 15:43:00

On a serious note,

With all due respect to the administrators of this site, I find it appalling that for the past couple months I have had no access to blogs. It has always been one of my favorite parts of my experience on LBP2, writing my own experiences and thoughts ,as well as reading the thoughts of others. I do not know that much about web design, and I know there are some technical issues I dont and probably never will understand. However, it doesnt feel like anything is being done on the matter and I think it should be addressed. It has been about two months...

Funny, blogs are the first thing I clicked out of habit, and I just noticed its becoming really annoying that one of my favorite sections is gone. Just a friendly alert to the administrators that people actually enjoy this feature and is something I hope is addressed in the near future.

I do not know that much about web design, and I know there are some technical issues I dont and probably never will understand. My sincere apologies for the continued broken nature of the blog section here on LBPC. Rest assured that it is actively being looked into but, as you've noticed, it's still work in progress. As administrator, it's unacceptable to me that a valued feature of the site does not function as it should - it bugs the heck out of me.

I have an extensive list of to-do items (the rest of the site staff can vouch for this ) and fixing the blogs are right there at the top.




However, it doesnt feel like anything is being done on the matter and I think it should be addressed. It has been about two months...That's probably my fault for not doing a better job of communicating progress on the issues being fixed, i.e. blogs. I haven't had much to report and so haven't reported anything, thus the perception that nothing is being done.

Don't worry though - I have kidnapped a good number of Santa's Elves and so far they seem to be making progress. We've been bribing them with cookies as well, which is never a bad idea.		2012-12-27 18:27:00
