Small Rant (and an excuse to catch up with things)
Archive: 14 posts
So yesterday I found out LBPV was out for well over 2 weeks now. Splendid. I bought the game, downloaded it, and played it for a good 10 minutes before reenacting LBP PSP's launch week all over again: the levels loaded terribly, the online is ridiculous, and the Create Mode is confusing the hell out of me. Now I'm no rocket scientist, but I'm pretty sure that's not what's supposed to happen. Now I'm stuck here with a 1.1G download and $36 less in my pocket thinking that maybe Gravity Rush wouldn't have sucked as bad as this. So now I ask you guys because it seems that my lack of interest in the devs has caused an apocalypse in the LBP universe: what in the world is going on, which levels should I try out if I can ever get to them, and why haven't I introduced myself yet (again)? | 2012-10-08 20:04:00 Author: CyberSora Posts: 5551 |
Just calm down and relax. Just see how many things the first LBP2 update has improved the game: http://www.mediamolecule.com/blog/article/lbp2_game_update_1.01_-_cupcake/ Probably tarsier will improve all of those annoying things in LBP vita soon | 2012-10-08 20:48:00 Author: cakito123 Posts: 353 |
First of all,You hadn't actually explained any issue except for issues with online,Which is quite a promising thing to happen with a new LBP...And yes,There are problems with create mode,But what do you mean by "Confusing" ? Almost everything there is as it should be beside crashes... | 2012-10-08 21:12:00 Author: ythyth Posts: 400 |
Cyber! Always good to see you around, especially in rant mode. the levels loaded terriblyWhich levels, the story mode ones or online? Online is understandably SLAMMED right now so there isn't much fault to be had there. If you want your offline experience to speed up a bit, go into your Vita's 'settings' app and put it in flight mode. Go back to LBPV and things will be much speedier. the online is ridiculousAs above, yes - it's very slow at times. All of the LBP titles have had this issue just due to the volume of traffic. Try this (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=74410-Are-the-servers-overloaded&p=1047530&viewfull=1#post1047530) - it helps a lot. the Create Mode is confusing the hell out of meI hate to tell you this man, but that ain't the game's fault. You're a bit out of the loop, but that's ok. BELIEVE ME, I can sympathize - it just seems so alien and impossible to figure out that you'll never get it. My suggestion is just build things like you're familiar with already (using "old school" logic) and slowly start using the newer stuff. You'll get there before you know it, trust me. LBPV's create mode is a dream. So good. So now I ask you guys because it seems that my lack of interest in the devs has caused an apocalypse in the LBP universe: what in the world is going on, which levels should I try out if I can ever get to them, and why haven't I introduced myself yet (again)?I'd say you addressed that last bit just now, so you're good to go. As for levels to play, well, the first edition of the LBPC Vita Spotlight is due out in less than a week. Welcome back Cyber! | 2012-10-08 21:58:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
Have you played any of the LBPs on the console? The games have had the same create mode since 2007 so if you're still confused with them by then well.. maybe Gravity Rush would have been a better choice | 2012-10-08 22:33:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
The games have had the same create mode since 2007Sorry, please try again (http://littlebigplanet.wikia.com/wiki/LittleBigPlanet_2). | 2012-10-08 22:36:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
Why do these thread appear. I have and see NO flaws in the game whatsoever. Its probably your internet or vita. :/ | 2012-10-08 23:07:00 Author: DominationMags Posts: 1840 |
Just calm down and relax. Just see how many things the first LBP2 update has improved the game: http://www.mediamolecule.com/blog/article/lbp2_game_update_1.01_-_cupcake/ Probably tarsier will improve all of those annoying things in LBP vita soon Never owned LBP2, but I owned enough LBPs to find the launches extremely annoying in terms of online compatibility. At least these updates don't break the game even further like LBP PSP's one (curse you cheesecake; I never liked you to begin with!).Time will tell I guess. First of all,You hadn't actually explained any issue except for issues with online,Which is quite a promising thing to happen with a new LBP...And yes,There are problems with create mode,But what do you mean by "Confusing" ? Almost everything there is as it should be beside crashes... I'm confused because these new gadgets and gizmos are new to me: my fault. Online, however, is bad because the beta flowed more easily. I expected it to be smooth and not Internet Explorer slow. Cyber! Always good to see you around, especially in rant mode. Hello to you too. I do my best when I get bored. Which levels, the story mode ones or online? Online is understandably SLAMMED right now so there isn't much fault to be had there. If you want your offline experience to speed up a bit, go into your Vita's 'settings' app and put it in flight mode. Go back to LBPV and things will be much speedier. Online's the problem, naturally. I'm just annoyed by it, that's all. Also, I wanted some info on it since I'm only seeing threads about it and not ones like "Well [dev] said they're doing so and so." As above, yes - it's very slow at times. All of the LBP titles have had this issue just due to the volume of traffic. Try this (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=74410-Are-the-servers-overloaded&p=1047530&viewfull=1#post1047530) - it helps a lot. Seen it, and thanks. Although I wasn't expecting traffic at all. Vita didn't sell well, so I assumed the game's servers would be working a-okay. I hate to tell you this man, but that ain't the game's fault. So good. I've played the beta and I'm getting the hang of it; but yes, I'm mainly at fault for not playing LBP2 to begin with. Still, I'm finding it odd that the tools were thrown in there and not given a proper tutorial like LBP1s tutorials on tools. It seems way more helpful than a video explaining it. Or maybe I haven't run across these do-it-yourself tutorials yet? I'd say you addressed that last bit just now, so you're good to go. As for levels to play, well, the first edition of the LBPC Vita Spotlight is due out in less than a week. I'll take that as a subliminal way of saying "Try my Space Crops levels!" Will do. Welcome back Cyber! Thank you Mod Taffey! I hope the Vita community lives as long and prosperous as the PSPs. Have you played any of the LBPs on the console? The games have had the same create mode since 2007 so if you're still confused with them by then well.. maybe Gravity Rush would have been a better choice Owned the first on release and the PSP one. LBP1s was an easy thing: simple and basic creating tools. PSP's was a horribly coded Create Mode, but at least I was familiar with everything. Having not played LBP2, however, I suddenly jumped from a Windows XP to a Linux with no idea what I'm doing. I'll learn it eventually, but man is this so foreign. Why do these thread appear. I have and see NO flaws in the game whatsoever. Its probably your internet or vita. :/ So I guess all these (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?139-LBPV-Everything-Else-LittleBigPlanet-Vita) threads criticizing some aspects about the game do not hint that the game is having some difficulties because your Golden PS Vita is immune to such flaws, thus making this our fault? I'm sorry I wasn't blessed with such luck and immunity. Well that was refreshing. I'm back and I got something off my chest. | 2012-10-08 23:39:00 Author: CyberSora Posts: 5551 |
[spoiler=cakito] Or maybe I haven't run across these do-it-yourself tutorials yet? All of the tutorials are videos with a nice "Do it yourself" Kit right next to them, except for stuff there's really no reason for them to make you try (Like costumes,How to cut down on your thermometer,Etc...) I have Gravity Rush.... got bored about half way through. Played through the story mode of LBP Vita - awesome awesome awesome. You made the right choice. And yes.... go play Space Corps: ReVITAlized - great stuff! | 2012-10-09 15:57:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
You'll figure cratev mode out soon enough, I mean ... Even I understand it now ... Sorta. | 2012-10-09 20:31:00 Author: nysudyrgh Posts: 5482 |
Play the tutorials, they are worth a mighty chuckle, not to mention that they adress almost everything in the game and should get you on track with creating and so forth. Stephen Fry does a brilliant job! | 2012-10-09 20:47:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |
Create mode is like a hybrid PSP/Ps3 creator. It is awesome. Making the transition is a pain at first (if you never created anything on ps3). Though it is a blast after some time. Ionly created in the beta though, I haven't really touched the full version as I've gone back to school and its killing my free time. | 2012-10-10 04:41:00 Author: Captain Rule Posts: 360 |
