OK, I've been able to ace the first part of the final boss really easily. It's the second part that drives me nuts. Does anyone have any helpful hints for the second part? Thanks! If you want, I'll post something for acing the first part easily.

Yeah, the 2nd part of the battle can be a real pain until you figure it out. Specifically, that very first part with the guided bombs was the bane of my existence. When the fight starts, the first bomb will come from the right so stay towards the left side (I didn't like using the jump pads because they turn off just before the last bomb hits and that threw me off). When the bomb gets close, jump away to the left and you should be safe from the explosion. Then IMMEDIATELY move to the right and repeat the same thing for the bomb that comes from the left. Repeat once more for each side, and then the fun starts. There will be TWO bombs from the right side, and here's you avoid them. Move from right to left as the first bomb arrives. You want to be about in the center when it starts its final trajectory, and then quickly move left to avoid it. Jump for the second bomb in the same way you did for the earlier ones. Repeat this process for the two bombs that come from the left. If you can survive this part, you have won the fight - period. I believe the next thing to happen is the laser beam sweeping, but that's easy to avoid. It goes from the far right to most of the way to the left - when the beam switches off move underneath it to the right side so that you can avoid it as it moves left to right. Repeat and don't die. From here you get Grabinators, which make your life MUCH MUCH easier. The trick with these is that, as long as you are always holding R1, the bombs will never kill you. Catch a bomb and throw it IMMEDIATELY - it doesn't matter if you have anything to throw it at, just get rid of it. Keep doing this until you manage to hit all 6 "X" blocks. Then come the laser beams, then more bombs, then more beams, then you win. Simple. (Note: I may have gotten part of the exact sequence wrong, but the key part is surviving that first wave of bombs anyway.)

I actually died until madness (a.k.a. until my last life) in the first part of the boss level, but not even ONCE in the second part. Actually I remembered that the second part was really easy! Easier than the boss in LBP2 at least! Maybe I just got lucky then...
