Totally Useless Logic
Archive: 13 posts
Hey guys, I'm here to start a meta-game. We've all seen people gathering around trying to make the biggest, baddest, most optimal logic in their levels, but let's flip that around a bit. I want to see your utterly useless logic! I'm after logic that does absolutely nothing, does something simple in a super-complicated way, or just makes no sense. Why? 1. Thinking about logic in strange ways can help you to understand it better. 2. To prove that my sense of humor is not entirely lame. 3. The confuse the people who check my vita.lbp.me uploads I'll kick us off with two simple ones. Lol. Can't wait to see where this goes. That battery one however, something like that would be useful, of course, that is not the finished logic, but something like that would be useful if there was some piece of logic implemented that shut off all external logic. A pauserizer, of you will. That is, it would only be useful in that case. | 2012-09-27 21:58:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |

Sure, but that's the line of thinking I would hope falls out of this thought exercise. | 2012-09-27 22:00:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
I have an entire section of these in my popit. I'll post some when I get home. | 2012-09-27 22:41:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |
Haven't really done any logic in LBPV yet, but I had this in LBP2... If that counts. It uhh... Does nothing at all. http://i2.lbp.me/img/ft/022f39affbcde2fabbc4335812cb79defc0b0fe5.jpg I like to think that if I put it in a level, it would take a whole ton of photobooth photos at once, causing the TV to implode on itself. I kinda doubt it though. ..I know I forgot the tail. | 2012-09-27 22:59:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |
@KlawwTheClown: Hey, that's really cool! It'd be neat to build pixel art like this with little square timers that fill at different speeds. Each art can be a multiple-choice button quiz. Players look at the blank grid and try to guess what the pixel art is as the timers slowly fill up, revealing more and more of the art, and pick the correct button (Link, Mario, whatever). The faster they correctly guess, the higher the points awarded. | 2012-09-28 09:15:00 Author: Unknown User |

I'm after logic that does absolutely nothing, does something simple in a super-complicated way, or just makes no sense. Add me as a friend and join me in create mode. I do this all the time. I'm not very smart | 2012-09-28 20:59:00 Author: Jovuto Posts: 2345 |

Follow this link! I made an always on gate, and SMB pixel art. http://vita.lbp.me/u/LBPLover2Day | 2012-12-03 14:06:00 Author: qwerty123456 Posts: 309 |
I should really get in on this game, it seems kind of fun. | 2012-12-04 02:41:00 Author: ChrisF2112 Posts: 265 |
(This was posted at the planetarium, and it was made in LBP2, but I think it still counts) Oh my. This is absolutely perfect. Absolutely. I think I can top you all here. Everything will pale in comparison to what I've made. https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=70162-Project-Simpleton! Pretty much, it's where I made all the advanced logic gadgets...with simple logic gadgets. http://cdn.motinetwork.net/motifake.com/image/demotivational-poster/0810/holy-crap-demotivational-poster-1222946596.jpg Pics: All the chips mimicking the advanced logic gadgets: http://i7.lbp.me/img/ft/06750e4390b120ae83ecfffa0f928d952603d16c.jpg Toggle: http://i6.lbp.me/img/ft/fe62c64d8c72d3284042bf1fcfad749c7ee2bcaa.jpg 3 stage Counter: http://i8.lbp.me/img/ft/f3802c6a921af2ac4bd529c4ed3282e0adc87519.jpg Timer: http://i8.lbp.me/img/ft/568bfa7a5b44465f659f671a2e890c7942c9fd1e.jpg (It times for exactly 128 frames. I just remembered something that made me think of this thread. Back in the days of LBP2, I once got angry at my brother for some reason or another. I decided to retaliate LBP2 style. My goal was to create a device that could destroy a level that someone was making (don't worry, I wouldn't have destroyed anything of his that he spent a ton of time on). Anyways, I ended up with a hologram that when destroyed activated other invisible holograms that emitted massive smashing balls that could crush things and went around your level, small devices that clung to the sides of the level and shot things at the player that would destroy anything they stuck to, and a device that made it impossible to move around while flying. On each of these devices I hid the logic inside three layers of microchips, to make it difficult to disable. This means that I filled the first microchip with microchips, and in turn each of those were filled with microchips, and the microchip on that microchip housed the logic. I would have gone to four layers, but a single microchip with four layers of full microchips takes up about half the thermometer. | 2012-12-07 23:05:00 Author: ChrisF2112 Posts: 265 |
