I just got this the other day and i'm so bad at it xD I much prefer ground combat to aerial. Anyone else playing this game right now?

Also anyone got any tips for me, like what game modes to play etc? lol im so bad at it!		2009-01-12 22:47:00

Oh my gosh, I love this game. There aren't many good 3rd Person Shooters (or any in general for that matter), but this one takes the cake.

What you're experiencing right now is how everybody starts Warhawk. The flying seems impossible, and you wonder how others are such masters of the sky. Naturally, you'll prefer ground combat, as things are less high octane and you're less of a huge target. One thing that probably bugs you a lot is how quickly you get targeted as soon as you enter a Warhawk. Trust me, you're taking the right steps by starting off on the ground.		2009-01-12 23:30:00

Warhawk was fun for quite a while. I love multiplayer games like these when they're still fresh and everyone is new to the game. Definitely a solid game, the aerial fighting is really cool.

Didn't like the XP system though. Dominating DM/Team-DM dogfight servers didn't really give any XP compared to CTF. Also would've wished there were even more difficult awards to be had, and some sort of a system like that in Unreal tournament where an announcer gives news about the success of your opponents in-game (if someone is unstoppable etc).		2009-01-13 01:37:00

My tips for dogfighting is stay on the edge of the map and if you see anyone who breaks away from the pack, target them, i only go into the main dogfighing when i have enough weapons to do a lot of damage.

DOes any one play in pro-flight because ive tryed it and i like it but also dont like it because i found it was easyer to keep on top of the enimie but hard to dodge missles		2009-01-13 16:32:00

Rather, always have a couple of chaffs with you, mainly use homing missiles for kills, only fire missiles when you're really close to the opponent, as shooting from afar makes it easy for them to dodge. I usually get a lock on the enemy, then use afterburner to get right next to him (as getting a lock doesn't give any warning so they're not alerted) and release the missile(s) when you're just a few meters away from him, so it's impossible for him to dodge.2009-01-13 17:44:00

DrunkMiffy started a thread for that, and started the clan in Warhawk. It wasn't until I started playing Warhawk that I found out about it, but since nobody else plays, I didn't join it.		2009-01-13 22:59:00

I FREAKING love this game. I wish more people would experience this aweomsely fantasmic game.I've gotten really good at sniping, it's one of my favorite things to do. I believe My first non-ranking based trophy was the 'Dead-Eye' one (sniping someone from 1000 yards) and always manage 30+ sniper kills each game.

Oh and for those starting out, it's difficult, yes, but one day you'll just click and be good at it. I remember playing Close Corridors CTF and getting killed 70 times, and just recently got 170 kills and died only around 35 times. I had the most points in the match without ever touching the flag.

And I don't care about ranking up. Playing unranked matches are WAAYYYY more fun IMO and I love setting up a player server with Standoff, Close Corridors and Northern Bridge. <3		2009-01-14 04:31:00

Hey Crowlerzors, I have a tip for you on ground combat. When you see somebody coming but that don't see you, and there is jeep around, run and get in it. I mean that literally because you jump on the top of the jeep and crouch down on top of the driver's seat. You also might want have a rocket launcher out so when they least expect it with there back's turned......BAM! Instant annihilation. Recommended for the chernovan's because they blend in better with there cars.

I love Warhawk. Don't play it much these days, but I do occasionally dive in. I'm always happy to see the online community is still strong, people are still playing it.

I love the broken mirror pack. the APC changes the game in such a huge way. I wish there were more servers with that pack. Any game with the APC in it is a good time for me.

The drop-ship is just a pain. The only time it's really useful is in taking a flag-carrier in a jeep. when I first saw it I was so excited - I thought that every game, people would be rushing, climbing over each other to get in the drop-ship, and every time it took off, it would be this huge event, and the sky battles would just be epic.

If you were at your base on defense, and you saw one of those juggernaughts coming toward you, you'd poop your pants a little and scramble for the rocket launcher and some cover.

but it's not like that.
In my experience, people rarely EVER use it. It's always just sitting there. Occasionally, when 2 or more clan-members are playing in a public server (grrr), they'll organize, which happens so rarely in Warhawk that when it does, it grossly unbalances the teams, and then use the dropship to carry a flag-running jeep, back and forth, to and fro.

Anytime I've tried using the dropship, enemy warhawks just circle me en masse and shoot me down like I was a **** flying potato. NOBODY else will climb in the thing to man the missiles, no matter how many stops I make at bases and spawn points. **** thing.		2009-06-12 08:39:00
