It's been a long time since your last space flight, Sackboy. Time for some Space Corps mandated retraining!

Are you fascinated by rockets? Do you enjoy terrible jokes? Have you ever had any unusual cravings for dehydrated space rations? If the answer to any of these questions is "yes", then I've got just the level you've been waiting for. I am proud to present Space Corps: ReVITAlized, a mostly ridiculous adventure centered around the not-so-glamorous life of an astronaut. Make your way through a gauntlet of re-education procedures and prepare to blast off for a mission to My Moon.

This is my first LBP Vita level and the fourth in my Space Corps series that I started on LBP PSP. Although technically a sequel, this level is intended to be a standalone experience that serves as a reboot of my PSP creations. It took me a solid couple of weeks of VERY late nights to put this level together, but I had a blast working on it. I hope you enjoy it!

Queue the level here: http://vita.lbp.me/v/ht5h

Awesome work! I loved the humour in the level, I often found myself chuckling to myself as well as that the gameplay was unique as well. One bit that stuck out it my mind is the bit where you carry the touch material and have to avoid hitting the buttons, that was really fun and ragey! But not as ragey as this bit... 41963
Man, I must of died on that bit like 100 times! I'm sure I probably made it harder than it was. However when I played it the level broke at the cut scene just before you eat the delicious dehydrated food, I thought it might have been a one off bug so I replayed the level, and I got stuck at the same bit, it's really strange as I looked through the reviews to see if anyone else had experienced the same problem but it seemed to be just me :/

The level almost put it in a nostalgic coma from when I still played LBP PSP, the humour was just brilliant as I remember it and I love the little-piece-of-everything gameplay, varying things always. On a side note, was there not a computer named SAL 9000/3000 (both numbers were mentioned) in the cartoon named Recess? Anyway, the names were brilliant, as always. Downloaded the level so I can laugh wherever I go

I'm pretty sure I did not encounter any glitches on my journey, so that is good

Also, I will hopefully get back to you for the back-feedback when I have a level out :hrmf:

Oh, and I'm in first place on the scoreboard as I write this :33

Thanks everybody for queueing and playing the level - I'm really happy that everybody is enjoying it! Man it feels nice to finally have this one published. It was eating my life.

If it wasn't for the space corps series on the PSP I wouldn't've joined LBPC. Well that is quite honestly one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me.. Thanks so much Joruto! It's really great to have you here, so I'm glad I put those LBPC banners in my old levels.

Domick12Haha thanks Domick - I'm glad it was worth the two year wait! I originally thought about doing a direct recreation of The Right Stuffing but decided to change it up a bit so it would be new and a bit different.

Man, I must of died on that bit like 100 times! I'm sure I probably made it harder than it was.Hey Deadmn! Thanks for checking it out. The don't-touch-the-button room was inspired by the boardgame Operation.. Why I don't know, but that's what my brain does sometimes. The second room you mentioned, admittedly, was a bit tough. I was considering slowing down the cycling of the beams a little bit and I might still do just that. It's amazing what a difference 0.1 seconds makes when it comes to that sort of thing.

However when I played it the level broke at the cut scene just before you eat the delicious dehydrated food, I thought it might have been a one off bug so I replayed the level, and I got stuck at the same bit, it's really strange as I looked through the reviews to see if anyone else had experienced the same problem but it seemed to be just me :/Well now that is concerning... I encountered tons and TONS of other odd one-off bugs while playtesting endlessly, but that particular part never broke for me.

I am noticing a lot of fun and different new bugs that seem to have to do with being published to the community though... For example, the plastic "neon border" material that I used for the title screen works fine on My Moon but once published it refuses to actually turn off. Bizarre. I had to change the lettering to hologram to get the malfunctioning blinking sign effect I wanted.

Anyway, please do let me know if you encounter that particular bug again and I'll see what I can come up with. What exactly happened when you got stuck?

On a side note, was there not a computer named SAL 9000/3000 (both numbers were mentioned) in the cartoon named Recess?Hmm, I'm not aware of that but I wouldn't be surprised. "HAL 9000" is a famous (villain) computer from the movie 2001 and has been spoofed like crazy ever since. My computer SAL of course is a tribute to HAL, much like what it sounds like in Recess.

I'm pretty sure I did not encounter any glitches on my journey, so that is good

Also, I will hopefully get back to you for the back-feedback when I have a level out :hrmf:Yay! *does the no-glitch dance* Definitely let me know when you have your level published and I'll be very happy indeed to return the feedback.

Oh, and I'm in first place on the scoreboard as I write this :33Indeed you are! Well, for you score-seekers out there, I have included quite a few hidden ways to get points. Hint: Don't be afraid to touch the screen even when it doesn't seem like it will do anything.

Yeah, I thin that could help a lot but it wasn't too much of a problem after a while once I got the hang of it only 100 deaths later

I just found out the reason why it got "stuck", I feel like such an idiot lol it's because I didn't relise that you had to press O for next part of the sequence to come up. I'm so used to just seeing automatic cut scenes, that only took me 3 retries to find out . So you don't have to worry about any game breaking bugs, you just have to worry about stupid people like me not knowing to press O, btw that was a fun little mini game to throw in.

Yeah, I thin that could help a lot but it wasn't too much of a problem after a while once I got the hang of it only 100 deaths later LOL Well on one hand that's actually really funny... and fits in with the theme of the level quite nicely... but I do prefer to err on the side of easier rather than harder. After playtesting it a BILLION times it feels just right to me which means it's probably too hard for a brand new player.

Yes it is a little odd that it waits for you to press O despite appearing to be a timed cutscene. I'll add in a little 'press O to continue' in the lower right hand corner of the screen or something and maybe see if I can accomplish the same thing with logic. I could wire the touch sensor into the next magic mouth with an 'or' gate, but I'm not sure if that would suffice to skip the current magic mouth. Well, I just gotta try it and see!

Thanks for helping me narrow this one down - I'll get it fixed pronto.

Well Taffey, I told you on twitter that I was excited for this - and you totally delivered!! This is a quality level and it kept to your original psp style.

The humour is my favourite part, it's just stuffed to the brim with wit and fart sounds I loved that touch, with the rocket making fart sounds especially! The visuals are good, the cutscenes are beautifully set up and the gameplay is, although more challenging than your usual, is still awesome!

I could throw superlatives at you all day, but let's just say I enjoyed it greatly and I hope you make more space corps level for the Vita

Hey bud!!

Played this today. I was so happy when I saw you published this. I saw you had a locked level on your community planet the other day and I was crossing my fingers in hope you'd have something soon.

This level was awesome. It should be a team pick.

The writing, as in all of your levels was top notch. You are so funny dude.

Gameplay was fantastic too. And it is so pretty!!

I always thought your stickering was the best on psp, but your decorations placement is just as impressive.

I was happy to see you included your little mini game from the beta in here too.

What is next for you bro? Star Wars? Something brand new? I can't wait for whatever you come up with. I am a fan for life dude!!

Hearted of course. <3

I downloaded this level last night after you published but then didn't get a chance to play it until just now. (And I re-downloaded it to make sure that I got any changes you may have put in.)

Naturally the humour of the level is just as fun as everyone has already pointed out and the tongue-in-cheek allusions and references were plenty enjoyable.

The room traversing death mechanism was interesting and not immediately obvious but it was simple enough that a few experimental deaths cleared up any confusion pretty quickly.

The different rooms were diverse and none too tricky. Actually the room I had the most trouble with is the second room, the one with bounce pads on floor and ceiling and the hallway is shaped like a drawn out 'C'. It took more than a few attempts to get the write path to bounce to the upper hallway. It never got to the point of frustration though.

I ran into the same confusion on the meal segment as I waited for the next set of text to appear but you've already got that section on you list of things to look clarify for the player.

In the asteroid avoidance sequence I moved to the right to avoid the second asteroid, but not all the way to the right, just to about the 70% spot. The asteroid never came even though I waited almost 20 seconds. It wasn't until I moved more to the right that the asteroid got triggered. Possibly there is some sensor radius things that could be cleaned up or using a fixed timed sequence if you want this to be an actual risk/reward sequence. As it stands it looks more like a scripted event that the player plays through rather than another mini-game.

I also noticed as I was pushing buttons during the asteroid segment that I could open my popit. It may be a bit more streamlined to disable popit controls while in the DCS of the rocket. Also another nagging bit was the sackbot you used in the cockpit scenes was not set to copy player 1's costume which also pulled away a bit from the sense of me as a player being a part of the sequence.

The moon section was decent enough though the lack of reduced gravity nagged at me a bit. I was also wondering about the reference one of SAL 9000's comments about reaching "My Moon". Is this a play on LBP terminology or a bit of late night word-smithing? It seems like it is significant, a joke item maybe, but I'm missing something.

Having said all this I really liked the level. The set design was clean and fairly polished. The room to room navigation area was very busy in terms of on-screen elements but never overwhelming. The writing was creative and funny and the situations off-the-wall and and enjoyable.

The flow of the level was pretty good up until the rocket launch sequence where the long, non-interactive movie brought the game play and momentum to a halt. Having said this, the rocket launch sequence was also a very nice part of the level, lots of detail, beautiful rocket modelling and skilled use of the camera and set pieces really gave the whole thing a believable, majestic feeling. (It is just a bit of a shame that it comes in at about 85% through the level, inadvertently leaving the moon section as a bit of an anti-climax.)

The level design and implementation is sophisticated and mature while the writing and antics are smart and refreshingly adolescent. I'm glad to see that the long-time LBP creators are able to come to the new system and benefit the new game launch with their experience and skill. There is a whole crop of great levels published and the live servers are barely a few weeks old.

Nice work on this level. It was fun to play, warts and all.

<3 and a for a wicked levelThanks for playing Coxy and for the excellent review! And for the record, you can throw superlatives at me anytime. (...is a superlative a type of coffee drink? Hmm. *runs to Google it*)

Hey bud!!

Played this today. I was so happy when I saw you published this. I saw you had a locked level on your community planet the other day and I was crossing my fingers in hope you'd have something soon. Haha yeah I started getting the level-is-almost-done paranoia jitters and started backing it up online. I wondered if anyone would notice.

This level was awesome. It should be a team pick.

The writing, as in all of your levels was top notch. You are so funny dude.

Gameplay was fantastic too. And it is so pretty!!

I always thought your stickering was the best on psp, but your decorations placement is just as impressive.

I was happy to see you included your little mini game from the beta in here too.Well heck, thanks man! Feels like we're back in the good old days of LBP PSP what with VJ levels popping up on the community moon and a rumored amazingflyingpoo level coming soon I think as well. Thanks for the kind words - they mean a lot.

What is next for you bro? Star Wars? Something brand new? I can't wait for whatever you come up with.I'm not sure really, but it occurred to me the other day that the Space Corps has never visited Mars, and I sure had a heck of a fun time rebooting this series. I had forgotten how much I love the space program stuff... In a lot of ways it's way easier than Star Wars as I don't have to adhere to a script. We'll see.

I downloaded this level last night after you published but then didn't get a chance to play it until just now. (And I re-downloaded it to make sure that I got any changes you may have put in.)Trindall! Outstanding - THANK YOU very much indeed for another one of your patented, well-written, and carefully thought out reviews. I really do appreciate the time you put into these! They are a huge benefit.

The room traversing death mechanism was interesting and not immediately obvious but it was simple enough that a few experimental deaths cleared up any confusion pretty quickly.I was really concerned that section would be a total mystery to most people, and I kept adding things to (hopefully) make it more obvious what you were supposed to do. It was inspired by Save, Die, Reload and I was hoping maybe people would remember playing it.

The different rooms were diverse and none too tricky. Actually the room I had the most trouble with is the second room, the one with bounce pads on floor and ceiling and the hallway is shaped like a drawn out 'C'. It took more than a few attempts to get the write path to bounce to the upper hallway. It never got to the point of frustration though.Good to know - I have on my list to look into tweaking that, as it can be annoying without just the right trajectory.

Yes, this is pretty much the same exact problem as the food cutscene - mostly an oversight on my part. A couple other people had the same exact problem as you. The logic behind the scenes is VERY simple and is literally just waiting for the player to do something before it will ever move on. A couple timers and 'or' switches will take care of that very easily.

My intent with adding the (very simple) asteroid dodging bit was simply to re-engage the player, if only briefly, and make them feel like they were still playing and not just watching a 3 minute movie. I like how it came out but the implementation leaves something to be desired.

I also noticed as I was pushing buttons during the asteroid segment that I could open my popit. It may be a bit more streamlined to disable popit controls while in the DCS of the rocket.Agh, I just realized that I am an idiot. I've been fooling around with the settings on the movie camera and simply forgot that particular tweak is on the controlinator. *facepalm* Ok, I'll be fixing that - thanks for the heads up!

Also another nagging bit was the sackbot you used in the cockpit scenes was not set to copy player 1's costume which also pulled away a bit from the sense of me as a player being a part of the sequence.Aha, a new bug. That sackbot is indeed set to copy player 1's costume and, as evidenced by several community uploaded photos, it does actually work.... but apparently not 100% of the time. If you happen to play the level again I'm curious if that bug recurs for you. I have never had that particular issue pop up for me, but thus is the way of things when hundreds of people suddenly start helping you bug test. You find all sorts of wonderful little gems! LOL

The moon section was decent enough though the lack of reduced gravity nagged at me a bit. There is reduced gravity, but it's only turned down to about 70%. Anything more and the player is able to completely leap over any/all of the critical final speech bubbles.

I was also wondering about the reference one of SAL 9000's comments about reaching "My Moon". Is this a play on LBP terminology or a bit of late night word-smithing? It seems like it is significant, a joke item maybe, but I'm missing something.I always forget that it's actually called Create Moon on non-PSP versions of the game. I'll have to change that! Old habit you see.

I keep searching for Taffey on LBP Vita but nothing comes up? What's going on?

Oh! You're that "special" guy from PSP who has a different name on Twitter, forums, and in-game

This was a special treat, not only because I got my community ouch pin from the giant burping lazer, but because it was neat to see a classic PSP series reimagined on Vita. And you didn't slack off with the imagining I was a fan of the Space Corps levels on PSP, but this puts those levels to shame. That is due to your fun use of different Vita functionality as well as the fact that Vita has much better graphics, and your ability to make incredible set pieces really shines on it!

I'm looking forward to your next level and will try to spam you at least twice a day asking when it is coming out since I know that these levels only take you about 2 hours to throw together

Ok! I did a significant update and fixed all the little bits that seemed to be troubling people:

Adjusted gameplay in the C-shaped bouncy hallway thing to make it less annoying
Adjusted gameplay in the "alternating beams" room to make it less rage-inducing
Added an animated 'O' button during the food minigame intro
Touch now works in conjunction with 'O' to skip to the next cutscene in the food minigame intro
Added timers to the asteroid dodging minigame - doing nothing will eventually get you to the next scene
Successfully dodging an asteroid will earn you points.
Fixed a bug that allows the player to potentially skip the final cutscene.

During this update I encountered a VERY nasty bug related to emitters and captured objects. Long story short, I had to re-capture and re-emit every object in my level from every emitter - a process that took me about 3 hours. I'll be making a detailed post in the help section later today. The level once again works, so that's the good news. If you happened to play the level last night between 6pm and 9pm Pacific time you probably got the bugged/broken version - sorry about that! Please redownload the level and try it again when you get a chance.

More payback to SAL

I forget ,what does SAL stand forJK! Always great to see you here, and thanks for playing my level!

omg LOL you have no idea how much this cracks me up... Ok, so when I was building my level I had your video of The Right Stuffing on my computer so I could try and recreate some of the various bits like the spike trap, etc. That's right where you get out your sticker edit tool and take the eyeball off of SAL and say "WHO'S LAUGHING NOW" haha That part always cracked me up, and seeing the battle continue between you and SAL here on the Vita is just priceless. I should also add that your antics were a direct inspiration for an Easter egg I don't think anybody has found yet. I'll just say that SAL has sensitive eyes... er, eye.

You know, I never really thought about what SAL means. HAL stands for Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic computer, so maybe SAL stands for Sackthing ALgorithmic computer?

Oh por dios, yo AMO Space Corps para el PSP, no puedo imaginar como esta para el Vita, debe estar ?INCREIBLE! Que mal que no tengo Vita I hope you get a Vita soon!

This looks pretty incredible! The pics are epic as well! This is... The first level I queue using vita.lbp.me, you should feel honoured Mr. Taffey jeje. Coming back with a review for sure!Wow! I'm honored to be your first ever queued Vita level. I hope you have fun playing!

I keep searching for Taffey on LBP Vita but nothing comes up? What's going on?

Oh! You're that "special" guy from PSP who has a different name on Twitter, forums, and in-game I just can't make my mind up who I am. I'm considering changing all my names to Alowishus and calling it done once and for all.

This was a special treat, not only because I got my community ouch pin from the giant burping lazer, but because it was neat to see a classic PSP series reimagined on Vita.WHAT. I.... I earned you your community ouch pin?? My god, THAT IS THE MOST EPIC THING EVER. All of my life goals are now complete. I'm going to publish over this level with Greenskeepers now.

And you didn't slack off with the imagining I was a fan of the Space Corps levels on PSP, but this puts those levels to shame. That is due to your fun use of different Vita functionality as well as the fact that Vita has much better graphics, and your ability to make incredible set pieces really shines on it!Thanks John! I did have quite a bit of fun with the set pieces... I got the level pretty much all the way built except for the cutscene and I had only used half the thermo, so I said what the heck. Might as well make the cinematic as complicated as possible! It was really fun to put together - I might have to start doing movie levels like kaiju.

I liked messing with the different Vita functionality too. At first I wasn't even going to bother to try and squeeze in tilt/touch or anything like that, but it was immediately apparent it would fit in just fine - better than button controls even. I'm really digging all these new gizmos.

I'm looking forward to your next level and will try to spam you at least twice a day asking when it is coming out since I know that these levels only take you about 2 hours to throw together I think we can come to some sort of arrangement here. You know how badly I want to see Freeing The Monster 1.0.... Perhaps we can arrange something?

Nothing I can add, that hasn't already be said on my review on your level page.

I can't find it humorous enough that the great Taffey, most hearted on the PSP, is in the double digits on Vita right now. You'll be first to 1'000, I'm sure!

Mwahahahahaha I told you I'd be back! And I bring a review with me! By the way, this is my first review for a Vita level, so this is quite exciting ( and you should feel even more honoured) Beware:

PRESENTATION

There's nothing I can possibly complain about the level thread. Everything is perfect! The badge is epic, and makes me remember those old days from LBP PSP. I'm really willing to play this!

LEVEL

You see, I usually prefer giving feedback to uninown cretors, so that they can also get some attention for all their not-so-recognized-hard-work, but as soon as I saw that a Space Corps level had arrived to LBPV, I couldn't help but downloading it right into my Vita!

I also prefer to make the reviews as I play the level, but not this time. Why? Because I was so inmersed in this thing that I couldn't stop playing until I actually finished! The length is perfect, and it shows us creativity and talent to a point that truly shows us LBPV's true possibilities. From the hilarious minigames, amazing cutscenes worth of their own movie to the well designed and challenging puzzles, this levels shines as a confetti-granade exploding in my face.

It also seems that my Vita hates me becuase of the 5 photos I took in the level, only 1 appears in my popit. Oh well, no pics for the review then...
Anyway:

One thing I really liked was the food minigame. It was brilliant and very funny. It was the perfect excuse to include some minigame-mayhem in the level. Still, I feel it really didn't fit with the level's theme. I would be much more pleased if you could make a minigame level, where you can put many eccentric minigames of yours!

I don't know if I hitted a bug in here, or if I just missed what was supposed to happen, but after the launch sequence, where you can control the spaceship by titling the Vita...

http://i9.api.vita.lbp.me/img/ft/6692d52dbabc156c29ffbb77160de23c5f7fc3c6.jpg

There were some "incoming asteroid" messages along with an arrow, but no asteriod ever appeared. And after about 2 messages of the kind with no threat at sight, it finished and it brought me to the next part of the level in the moon. I read you made modifications to the emitters in the level. Maybe you should check this out.

THE GRADES

Gameplay 4.5/5 Brilliant. Excellent puzzles, amazing minigames and great length. My only complain is that bug I told you about.
Graphics 3.5/5 Ok, to be honest I think they could have been better. The level at times seemed a bit empty, especially at the very beginning and the first challenges. Not bad, but could have been better.
Sound 4/5 Great! The music choices were really good, and all the sounds effects like the ones used for the lasers are great as well.
Overall 4/5 As I said in my in-game review, Taffey's LBPV debut couldn't have been better. Awesome job!

Other than a quick look at a couple levels when I first put in the online code, I promised myself I wouldn't start playing user created levels until I finished all of the story mode. But I just couldn't help myself when I saw this was published.

What can I say, SC:R is bigger, badder, funnier, cooler, and more TV-dinnier(sp) than its PSP predecessors. The intro was great as were all the cut scenes. The Sci-fi nerd in me feels all warm every time I hear the swooshing sound sound as I pass through the doors. This level oozes over with little touches like that. I loved it! It's a shame to hear you had to scale the difficulty down. I thought it was fairly easy as it was. I think I could ace it in a few more tries

Sorry I am going to keep this short but I did want mention the one issue I had. But it's an something that bothers me on most touch control games. In the area where you have to avoid the switches with the ball, I could not see the darn ball because of my big fat finger =( Heck, I couldn't even see some of the switches when I was trying to move it through. I guess it's something I am going to have to deal with until they invent invisibility gloves.

Aha, a new bug. LOL
I did play the level again and the sackbot did get the costume matched up without problem. Must have been a rare occurence, sun flare induced type event.

There is reduced gravity, but it's only turned down to about 70%. Anything more and the player is able to completely leap over any/all of the critical final speech bubbles.
What!? If the gravity isn't set to 16-some-odd percent on the moon I'm calling shenanigans! If we can't have realism in our comedy, sackthing-goes-to-the-moon, genre-tripping farces then nothing is sacred.

I'm pretty sure that this was in earlier versions of the level but at this room you can use either the front touch or rear touch to move the block. I'd definitely recommend the rear touch for just the same reason you mentioned, it is so much easier to see where you are going that way.

Also I'd really like creators moving forward be conscious of the fact that a rear touch input method is preferable and critical when the user needs to control small objects. I'm guessing this will be a new pet peeve on the Vita.

Great Remake Taff, I loved it. I found a few parts a bit confusing at first, like the buttons section. I was trying not to die, imagine that! Only to realize I'm trying to kill myself to spawn on the other side. Other than that, the level was cherry. I'm really impressed with the cutscenes and overall visual effects and visuls, but then again thats always been your strength in levels. Hearted2012-09-28 19:40:00

I can't find it humorous enough that the great Taffey, most hearted on the PSP, is in the double digits on Vita right now. You'll be first to 1'000, I'm sure!Haha I doubt it - there are some truly great creators on the Vita these days and they've got me by a mile.

Mwahahahahaha I told you I'd be back! And I bring a review with me! By the way, this is my first review for a Vita level, so this is quite exciting ( and you should feel even more honoured) Beware:Wow, great review yugnar! Really detailed and in-depth, and you make some great points. Thanks for taking the time to write it up! Let me know when you get something published and I will be very happy indeed to F4F.

I won't quote your entire (excellent!) review but I'll hit a few points.

One thing I really liked was the food minigame. It was brilliant and very funny. It was the perfect excuse to include some minigame-mayhem in the level. Still, I feel it really didn't fit with the level's theme. I would be much more pleased if you could make a minigame level, where you can put many eccentric minigames of yours!Yes, I definitely agree that the food minigame doesn't really fit in at all, but I think that's also kind of funny. The thought of people playing the level and saying to themselves "uhh.... what the heck is this now?" just makes me laugh. Good point though! You are absolutely right.

I may do a minigame level. I have a few random ideas I can't really figure out how to fit in with anything else, so I might just stick as many in a level as I can fit and publish it with a menu screen or something.

I don't know if I hitted a bug in here, or if I just missed what was supposed to happen, but after the launch sequence, where you can control the spaceship by titling the Vita...

There were some "incoming asteroid" messages along with an arrow, but no asteriod ever appeared. And after about 2 messages of the kind with no threat at sight, it finished and it brought me to the next part of the level in the moon. I read you made modifications to the emitters in the level. Maybe you should check this out.Well the good news is that it worked exactly like I wanted it to... If you don't dodge your ship to the left no asteroid comes and it just moves you on to the next part of the sequence. This is mostly due to the fact that I don't have logic built in where you can die and respawn - it's just a short little 15 second segment. I have an idea of how to improve this though. Thanks!

Graphics 3.5/5 Ok, to be honest I think they could have been better. The level at times seemed a bit empty, especially at the very beginning and the first challenges. Not bad, but could have been better.I agree! I am probably going to go in and decorate a bit more - there are some areas that seem a little plain to me now that I have the level published.

Sound 4/5 Great! The music choices were really good, and all the sounds effects like the ones used for the lasers are great as well.I just want to say thanks for including a separate rating for the sound. I think audio is one of the most overlooked things in a level, and I spend as much time adjusting the sounds of everything as I do anything else. The right sound (or combination of sounds) makes even the most boring things much more interesting. I'm very glad you noticed this part of my level!

Overall 4/5 As I said in my in-game review, Taffey's LBPV debut couldn't have been better. Awesome job! WOOT! I am VERY happy with that - thanks again yugnar!

What can I say, SC:R is bigger, badder, funnier, cooler, and more TV-dinnier(sp) than its PSP predecessors.Hey Xenon, thanks for playing! Sorry if my level made you hungry... or.. maybe it made you lose your appetite? Haha "TV-dinnier" is the best adjective I have heard in a very long time.

I think I could ace it in a few more tries Hahaha If anybody out there could do it, it'd be you. Just a few more tries Xenon - I know you can

I'm guessing this will be a new pet peeve on the Vita.I had the same exact problem Xenon when I was testing the level and yes, Trindall is right - you can use rear touch as well if you prefer. I really do hope the community picks up on that little nuance.

i played it yesterday, very good and fun level but i don't like forced respawn to continue but it's only my opinion and i know that this level needs itHey Darkabbestia! Hehe yes the forced respawn is kind of an issue for some people, but I'm kind of sadistic that way. Well, ok, it isn't my fault - it's SAL.

Regardless, thank you so much for playing and for the kind words! I'm always happy to hear from new folks.

I did play the level again and the sackbot did get the costume matched up without problem. Must have been a rare occurence, sun flare induced type event.Ah, good to know. I still haven't come across that one yet but I encountered another lovely one during the "death maze" - instead of respawning from the active checkpoint the level ended and I got the 'replay/continue' screen. Apparently the game thought there was no new checkpoint to spawn from and promptly gagged. GAH. I sure hope that one isn't happening a lot when people are playing it.

What!? If the gravity isn't set to 16-some-odd percent on the moon I'm calling shenanigans! If we can't have realism in our comedy, sackthing-goes-to-the-moon, genre-tripping farces then nothing is sacred.LOL Yes, yes, you are right of course. I'll also look into removing the atmosphere (hmm, air vent and space suit powerups anyone?) and varying the temperature by +/- 120 degrees C. Hmm, any thoughts on how to implement unshielded cosmic radiation?

I must say you've inspired me with the cutscene thing - I can feel the pull of the Dark Side, and it is strong.

I had no idea you could use the back touch, DUH! I should have tried. Maybe they should have a universal Back touch sticker that would clue people in on that. Now if you'll excuse me I have to get back to acing your level

Now you're cooking with fire!

Maybe give the player 30 seconds to survive on the surface of the moon before they die from lack of oxygen. Throw in some snarky comments by SAL on the unfortunate nature of the emergency space suit being packed in the other spaceship and you've really got something here.

Also on a side note I remember that on my last play through the HERP pamphlets were all white at the end. I'm assuming that this was just sticker glitches with the game engine but thought I'd bring it up just so this wouldn't be a complete junk post.

I'm assuming that this was just sticker glitches with the game engine but thought I'd bring it up just so this wouldn't be a complete junk post.Ahhh, yes. That is a manifestation of the very nasty little bug (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=74397-Emitter-and-captured-object-bug-how-to-avoid-it) I found that broke my level for several hours. If all of the emitters were working and those stickers were white squares, then the game simply had trouble loading part of the level data. If everything in the level appears broken (e.g., no laser beams, no electricity, no food appearing, no asteroids, etc.) then you were playing the fully bugged version.

Either way, it's an issue that is just now starting to get uncovered. I've posted it on GetSatisfaction as well, and the good news so far is that it seems very few people have actually experienced it.

I really liked this level when I played it (though i only could enjoy parts of it because it has trouble with multiplayer). The only part that messed up completely was the incoming asteroid part where it just froze in that situation with no asteroid ever coming and we had no control of the rocket. It's very likely that it was just a connection problem as I was in a party of 3 when it happened.2012-09-30 21:06:00

That's very strange about multiplayer because... well.. it's not supposed to be possible. The global gameplay settings block parties larger than 1 so I'm not sure what could have happened there.

Anyway, sorry you had issues but still enjoyed it.

I want to play this level so freaking badly but I can never get it to load. I have had it in my queue for ages. That seems to be a common problem around the community, and not just with this level. Try changing your wireless settings as described in this post (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=74410-Are-the-servers-overloaded&p=1047530&viewfull=1#post1047530) and see if that helps. HERP A DERP. Okay you are better at making that funny. This level brings back memories, great memories. You made the Space Corps series shine on the playstation portable, but this is taking it even further, using many of the Vita's key features. I recognize some aspects of the level design, if my memory serves me correctly. But hey, your humor is even funnier, more bolder and even more outrageous. The way the space ship breaks away is cinematic and very realistic, I love the way you gave us control of the space ship, one moment that I'll never forget. You have a unique style and texture to your levels Taffey, and I look forward to seeing more of your levels on the vita. It sounds as though you put a lot of effort into this level, well let me tell you, it shows in the final outcome. Flawless, only thing I love more than eating is eating on my vita....in a space place. A like (yay) heart and I hearted you and I think I downloaded the level. Is this F4F? If it is could you watch my intro cutscenes, Enter the City? You can queue it here http://vita.lbp.me/v/8228d thanks! Much appreciated 2012-10-02 21:27:00

If I ever manage to make a level half as fun and creative as this I'll be happy. Great work, will be following what you put out next closely. First thing I checked after reading this thread was to see if lbpPSP was on the PSN network for the Vita so I could see your past creations. Sadly it's not there of course.2012-10-04 05:16:00

I finally got to play this level and even got it saved in my downloads. Wow, that was awesome! I didn't realize it until I played it, but you must be the guy, or gal, who created the space level way back when on the PSP LittleBigPlanet. That was my favorite level and this one is even better. Well done!

This was the first community level I ever played on the Vita (sorry I only came around to review it now ^^; ) and it was amazing! Space Corps: ReVITAlized is every bit as funny as your PSP levels. In addition to that, it looks great; not as cartoony as your former levels (those had a charm of their own) but more polished and with equal amount of character. That said, it's never been more amusing to get killed repetitiously by a crazy computer. And the (SPOILER) death by spike trap's vengeful comeback was unanticipated (by me, anyway) and really, really funny.

What I liked best was the variety. All the tests and challenges of doom were all fun, frustrating in an amusing way, and well put together. The two mini games were both excellent additions. The eating could probably stand alone as a level. It's unique and tricky and quite addictive. I kind of wish it was a little longer.

The level was such fun, I really can't find anything to critique. Honestly, I hope it becomes a Team Pick.

I made another series of small updates to the level last night to fix a few random things, including:
Fixed issue with asteroids sometimes not emitting
First speech bubble on the Create Moon will now only trigger once
Fixed a checkpoint bug that could potentially end the level early
Added stickers and decorations in a few plain-looking spots

This level brings back memories, great memories. You made the Space Corps series shine on the playstation portable, but this is taking it even further, using many of the Vita's key features. I recognize some aspects of the level design, if my memory serves me correctly.Hey Liam - thanks for playing! I'm very happy indeed you enjoyed it.

Yes, you recall correctly - a lot of the design, sequence of events, and lame jokes are straight out of The Right Stuffing (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=19533-The-Right-Stuffing-by-tsr13-%28PSP%29). I was convinced by SalieriAAX that doing an exact remake was a bad idea, and I owe him a lot of credit for making me rethink things a bit and put a different twist on them.

only thing I love more than eating is eating on my vitaLOL Well like I always say, the LBP community needs more food-based minigames. I'm just doing my part.

In addition to that, it looks great; not as cartoony as your former levels (those had a charm of their own) but more polished and with equal amount of character. That said, it's never been more amusing to get killed repetitiously by a crazy computer. And the (SPOILER) death by spike trap's vengeful comeback was unanticipated (by me, anyway) and really, really funny.I was just as nervous about this level as my original one on the PSP - I had no doubt people would hate being killed endlessly... To my continued surprise (and delight!) everyone seems to think it's as funny as I do. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU SICK PEOPLE

The eating could probably stand alone as a level. It's unique and tricky and quite addictive. I kind of wish it was a little longer.I originally had that idea on LBP1 and made a version of it I only sort-of liked. I did end up making a (slightly different) standalone level of it for the LBPV beta, and again finally as a minigame for this level. It only took me 3 years, but I'm finally happy with how it came out.

Thanks for the review, and I'm really looking forward to seeing your first level on the Vita!

Sorry that I haven't even dropped in to leave feedback. Well, here's your review.

First off, the visuals were great. The first little section was some quite simple platforming. Then there was the respawning section, which I didn't enjoy as much because of the forced respawning. But the next section made up for that, because it was a great little mini game. I enjoyed eating to my heart's content for 45 seconds. Then the cutscene was pretty funny. I got gorred by a smiley face. Then I headed to my spaceship, which had a great cutscene. Overall, the gameplay had some great variation. It was a very enjoyable level.

F4F: Sackenstein. Thanks for the review unc! Sorry you can't ace the level but... well, I'm kind of evil that way. I'm glad you had a good time and enjoyed your astronaut food. hehe

I'm heading over to Sackenstein now for your F4F.

OmniBump! :kz:

I promised feedback before, and now a 1000 years later, it's finally there.
First of all, you did it again ... Making me laugh out loud troughout the whole level, HOW. DO. YOU. DO. IT?
The funny cutscenes, dialogue and silly abbreviations kept a smile on my face. The gameplay was very clever, although the bomb storage shouldn't be placed in the testing area. (That reminds me, I should remove the burning goo from my testing chambers sometime ... )
The visuals were very well done, you used deco's and objects in a smart way. The testing area had very clean and pleasing visuals.
Overall, a nearly perfect level. My only complaint is that it felt rather short. Space Corps 2 anyone?

If the F4F still counts after a 1000 years: Nys Labs OmniCircle Battle. (Thread must be around here somewhere. )

This was the first level I played on when I got online with my Vita and it was brilliant.
Obviously, everyone should be trained to HERP and DERP before being let loose on the community!

I've been trying to avoid anything to do with the PSP Vita and LBPV so i don't get too excited and spend all my cash on it, Guess i should have stayed away from the forums because now i'm more tempted than ever.

I haven't played the level but I'm sure its magical and worth a heart and 5 stars or whatever they use to rate levels in the new game.
