Phyical to Digital...

Since I got a physical copy about a week ago and today purchased the digital copy it would seem that when loading the digital copy it didn't load my saved game data... Is there a reason for this or is there something I need to do to load up data or am I now forced to start over again? | 2012-09-26 02:26:00 Author: Chris---Kristy Posts: 83 |
You shouldn't have needed to do anything special. You didn't remove the LBPV app/bubble before getting the digital version did you...I believe that would delete your save. The way the Vita handles apps and save data is idiotic. | 2012-09-26 04:05:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
Oh... That's what it would have been because I had first accidently downloaded the demo and once that installed I deleted it... The demo would have been saved over the physical game copy maybe? | 2012-09-26 04:11:00 Author: Chris---Kristy Posts: 83 |
Oh... That's what it would have been because I had first accidently downloaded the demo and once that installed I deleted it... The demo would have been saved over the physical game copy maybe? Probably, the demo is likely the full game because I think the demo is also 1.1 gb. If it used the same app bubble then definitly. Don't feel bad, this setup is so goofy no one would expect it to work that way, especially when the PS3 and PSP aren't this stupid. I hope you didn't lose too much progress and Sony addresses this in a firmware update. I know the save data is separate, they just won't let us see it! | 2012-09-26 04:18:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
Would have been nice if the game save were like the PS3 and have the ability for Cloud Save for us Plus users... | 2012-09-26 08:25:00 Author: Chris---Kristy Posts: 83 |
Hi Chris---Kristy, Just so we can be clear, could you please re-explain the exact course of action, including installing and deleting processes. Thanks, Olly | 2012-09-26 10:59:00 Author: Unknown User |
Im also very interested about the switching posibilites. I got my digital early copy by the reddem code. But to save some space on memory cardd and to support this awesome game I would like to buy the physical copy. But Im really afraid that I will not be able to keep the stuff from the digital version save daat. | 2012-09-26 11:40:00 Author: Agarwel Posts: 207 |
Hi Chris---Kristy, Just so we can be clear, could you please re-explain the exact course of action, including installing and deleting processes. Thanks, Olly My understanding is as follows: - Existing save from physical version. - Download PSN demo, assumed to be full game with ?purchase? option and thus uses the same ?id? as the physical and unlocked digital version. - Delete demo (instead of using option to purchase). Demo cleans up save data because Vita save system was designed by chimps. - Purchase and download full game...start over, yay! So, Olly...since you should know how this stuff works (because we sure as heck don't and Sony has done an incredibly poor job explaining it)...what happens in the above scenario? But to save some space on memory cardd and to support this awesome game I would like to buy the physical copy. Do you have other game cards? You get a nice 15 second "wait" everytime you turn on the Vita after turning it off if you have one inserted. It's pretty annoying...I thought having a single game card would be like leaving a UMD in the PSP with Auto-Start off...but apparently the PSP UI was superior to the Vita in this regard as well. | 2012-09-26 14:06:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
Actually come to think of it even when I started up the demo version none of my saved data transferred over but here is a break down... 1 - Was using physical copy of game because I didn't want to wait until the digital came out... 2 - Downloaded demo version and I thought I had hit cancel but I didn't... 3 - Downloaded full version right after demo... 4 - Demo version installed... 5 - Went to play needed download the 2 patches... 6 - Loaded up demo version and it started right from the start as if I had not played LBP Vita before... 7 - Full version install gave me an error... 8 - Deleted demo bubble which had taken over my physical copy bubble... 9 - Install of full digital copy work... 10 - Loaded up as if I never had played LBP Vita before... Maybe if I didn't load up the demo I would have been fine? But shouldn't the demo version been able to recognize my game save? | 2012-09-26 18:24:00 Author: Chris---Kristy Posts: 83 |
