0.2 has brought some great changes:
Class abilities are brought closer in line, while increasingly different from one another.
A new resource system has been added.
Classes have a new ability called Second Wind that activates while under 30% health.


Mystika

Welcome to Mystica. I'll discuss the procject furthest in production, and the one I feel most confident about, Mystica. Mystika is the name of a powerful energy source that has vast potential. In a world with such power, there are those who wish to abuse the energy, as well as those who fight to preserve it for the use of good.

From this conflict two armies, the Blue Mystics and the Red Mystics, sprang up. Red Mystics are known for syphoning the energies around the world to call forth ancient Mystika beings for power and domination. Blue Mystics command the power of Mystika to destroy Red Mystics and the various aeons that do their bidding to bring justice to their opperations.


Characters / Classes

There are 4 classes with universal (easy to pick up controls) with various fighting styles. All classes have 200 HP and use a 100 point Mystika Energy resource system. Abilities cost various amounts of energy, and energy recovers at a rate of 10 per .2 seconds or 50 per second. A new ability can only be used when the person has full energy.

PVP and Dungeons
There will be pvp and normal dungeons with bosses that are well thought out with 1(-2) player mode and 4 player mode. 4 being the most challenging or Hero modes, that will require higher effort.

There will be several pvp levels including kill levels with several settings.
Elminiate: fight until one side is dead.
Kill 5: fight until one side has lost a player 5 times.
And kill 10 for longer harder fights.

I currently plan on adding at LEAST 1 base capture pvp zone.

It's a 2v2 zone with 3 bases, which are Mystica mines/rigs.
For each base your team has you gain 10 mystica every so often.
Standing at a base slowly claims it. Neither side gains ownership if there are an even amount of enemies in a single base. (if you play wow, it's basically Eots esq)

Oh, I was very excited for Last Hope, but as discussed somewhere, Lbp2 just isn't the game for mmo depth controls, complexity, buffs and debuffs, and later decided, even role filling. If people play it'll be on the fly. So I have to compensate, I can have classes, complex fights, but they play style has to be less vigorous and less complex.

It works out well, I think I have hit a very good balance on rpg elements, complexity and still playable in a lbp2 environment.

I like to think of it as easy to play, hard to master. Which is where pvp and Hero modes come in.

Interesting idea. And I agree with your comment above. I've noticed to on alot of the things I create. I have to pull back or scale down because currently lbp just can't handle it.

Question. Will there be non southpaw controls? aka flip the sticks for movement and turning

As with and top down I make, the down/up arrow will toggle manual/auto turning. Manual, r analog turns, auto you face the direction you move. There are pros and cons to either. However auto facing takes away strafing which isn't something I'd ever give up.2012-09-23 21:51:00

To be honest. I'm not sure I need help in those departments, if anything I mostly need music. I'll post photos, animations, and abilities soon!!! I've been doing a lot of work out of game trying to come up with theoretical pvp balance.

There are two sides, the red Mystics drain Mystica from the earth using rigs and magical being for power and greed. The blue Mystics fight in attempt to restore balance and Mystical to its origination.


This made me laugh, (no offense) because this is the basic simplified liberal outlook on life, right down to the two colors the media uses on charts and graphs to illustrate the political climate.

(I don't perscribe to any particular political dogma. I feel it is a mistake to categorically dismiss any particular side of an argument (within reason) simply based on its source.)

Sounds like you have a lot of work ahead of you. Good luck on everything. =)

Apparently you do need help in the logic department if you think that a solid RPG isn't possible in LBP2. I'm not really sure what you meant with that, but its entirely possible. Especially if its top down.

Thanks much! There are some large graphical, story and some small combat changes underway, I'm hoping it'll be for the best. I'm trying to bring Mystica closer to Last Hope.
