Controlling Sackboy's head movement
Archive: 7 posts
This is a minor quibble, but a constant one. Sackboy's head always seems to be looking down when the Vita is tilted at the angle I usually play at. Could an option be added to recalibrate the default angle for head movements, or disable them altogether? | 2012-09-21 03:57:00 Author: Behonkiss Posts: 229 |
You do not know the new method. The new method to make Sack look about is by touching the front screen - or the rear screen if the level uses rear touch. Also, the angle you're playing at is either in dire need of adjustment or I'd really be interested if the rush of blood to my head when I create upside-down further amplifies my already prodigious ability. | 2012-09-21 05:38:00 Author: SLS10 Posts: 1129 |
Me too. I also. His head tilts down and all sad like. Just my natural holding style. Its nasty. That is one of my only gripes with the game though, so I can't complain. They should have a tilt calibration option for those of us with... What I guess is an unconventional play stance. | 2012-09-21 10:24:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
Had this issue all the in the beta,I wish they'll let us just disable head movements with the Vita's motion and let us control it only with touch as an option... | 2012-09-21 11:32:00 Author: ythyth Posts: 400 |
The head tilt, as with all tilt in the game, adjusts itself to how you are holding the Vita when the tilt function starts receiving data. For head tilt, this is on level load. If you are holding the Vita flat when the level loads, and then angle it up, Sackboy will look down. It will adjust to "re-center" over the course of a few seconds if you keep the Vita at the same orientation. It is a bit strange, but I'm pretty sure it's because people will all tend to hold the Vita in different ways. Some will have it in their lap, some will hold it up when they lay down, and some may even play while lying on their side. Thus, it takes the starting point at level load to be "not tilted". | 2012-09-21 13:05:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |

That explains my experience with the eyeball rolling mini-game. First time I played it the tilt directions had me really scratching my head...but I restarted and everything made sense. | 2012-09-21 13:55:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |

That game can go straight to the Orifice. I ground through just so I could get the highest score possible to get my prizes and never touch or think of it again. (sorry to anyone in present company who designed said level :B) | 2012-09-22 05:13:00 Author: SLS10 Posts: 1129 |
