Mine worked fine the last time I tried maybe it's your laser that needs cleaning or do other games work?2009-01-12 14:49:00

mine has the same problem, but that's probably because of a crack that mysteriously appeared near the central hole :/.2009-01-12 14:57:00

This might be better in the general video game talk section... you could always PM a mod and ask them to move it...

And last time I checked, Resistance 2 was fine. I haven't played it for a few days though.

The help section of this forum is generally about specific issues or problems with LBP itself or possibly about this forum, although the last part is normally handled in feedback.

People who are checking this part are not thinking about other video games. Your posts will get more people who are in the correct mindset if they were moved to that section. If you leave them here they will likely get ignored or possibly even a warning for being off topic.

I'm trying to help here...

sorry but that didn't help at all

We can't do much for you. We can't tell much about what happened to you, there's many possibilities.

When your PS3 is starting to show aging, it will begin by having a hard time reading certain disks. After that it will an entire type of disks it won't read anymore. The fix for this problem is normally to clean your PS3 lense and sometimes, especially in the case of the PS2, re-adjust the laser lense.
If that fix doesn't work it means there's another part of your BluRay drive that is aging and you cannot do much about it.

Another possibility is that you have a scratched disk or dirty disk. And the more your PS3 will be aging, the more picky he will get about reading scratched and dirty disks.

One last advice I can give you is to use your PS3 horizontally and on a clean surface that can take alot of heat. (well, glass or wood is fine). Give the PS3 ALOT of air around it. You can even put a clothe on it when it's turned off so there's less dust accumulating. Don't let the room get humid too much, this can also create condensation inside the PS3 preventing it to work properly.

I hope I did help somehow :/

I'm not a moderator, so I cannot move threads. But as I said earlier, anyone is free to PM a mod and ask for a thread to be moved. There are a lot of posts about the place and it can be easy to miss some, so I don't think they mind if you ask nicely.

With that being said, this topic is now in the right place. Hope it helps.

UPDATE

I've gone and rechecked Resistance 2. Everything is working fine for me. I still can't see anything when the user agreement comes up (It's just blank with no text to read) but if I accept I can play online.
