Archive: 29 posts

Hello sackcommunity, i want to inform you about my new last level: Blobby
link lbpme: http://lbp.me/v/fmg4de
It's a new kind of game, never seen on LBP, enjoy this new gameplay and have fun finding all the hyde secrets and collecting more points you can!
This time you'll play as a cute pink blob, Blobby, he has no arms or legs, only a round and bouncing body, so start bouncing and eat all you can eat!!!
(is 1 player only, for a better game experience without lag too).
Now i try to upload some photos (is hard and unconfortable from PS3 XD):

now THAT is how you post a level. Great job at selling and promoting this level. I actually saw it on Twitter first and had queued it from there.2012-09-20 17:04:00

Looks cool, are all those pictures ingame? wow. queued.

REVIEW

It isn't good for a reviewer to be speechless. But you made it. The instant I saw the title screen I knew it would be great. And right I was. The environment is very detailed and the character looks great. Controls are smooth and simple and I am yet to detect any glitches. Seriously, your creativity scares me. Visuals: Top notch. And I'm seeing a lot of Locoroco in here, am I right? Pickories, Nyonyokies, and a reference to those spiky things (right?), straight out of Locoroco, and don't worry that's not a bad thing. You're the first to create a Locoroco-like level. This level is just... beyond awesomesauce. I can't find the right word to praise this level appropriately.

Let's just say... 10/10 yayed, hearted, author hearted. This deserves no less.

Now excuse me, I'm just going to play this again.

EDIT: LOL. My brother just came to my room and asked if this is some kind of demo from the PS Store. Me: "Nope, it's LittleBigPlanet." Brother: "Really? Well they weren't kidding when they said you can create whatever you want on that game."

True story.

These pics really don't even begin to crack the ice of this level. SO many little minor details were implemented in this such as the grass moving as you bounce or the dandeloins floating whiskly thru the air.

This was by far one of the greatest levels I have played on LBP.

So to all who play it, there may be some tough parts in the beginning, but trust me when I say if you succeed to make it past them you will not regret it. Also, something about muscle memory and how we typically play LBP. In a normal sackboy platformer we are accustomed to holding R1 while swinging (hence muscle memory). In Blobby you simply jump near a grabbable object say a flower, branch, etc and it auto grabs it for you. then you tap x to release yourself. Once my brain figured out that after I jumped I could let go of x and not letting go of x would release me, it became a much easier rode and the fun-o-meter skyrocketed.

This is one of those levels I will consider towards the Sackies

Also, amazing job Comishguy

but... what are Pickories and Nyonyokies?
NyoNyokies are those coloured things that come up from the ground (near the beginning, you have 3) and pickories are those fly-like creatures you used for points (and they're used as points in Locoroco too).

Lol, I never thought you didn't own Locoroco as this is a lot like it.

And this level has 1144 plays! Yay! Congratulations

A very... VERY good level! It is mind blowing to play this, little things like the grass animations and how the spikes move are amazing. I did think that the very first tutorial part could have done with a few more respawn areas though.

A specific example is I worked out the jumping mechanic and got past that part, went up the cool looking pillar things and then learnt about a new power; the thorns. I excitedly jumped and pressed R1 instead of L1, died and was back at the start. Not overly frustrating... but I really just wanted to see the new power!

Great stuff all in all though!

I don't even know what to say. completely speechless. everything from the gameplay, visuals and all the little details were just freaking unbelievable. I'm playing this and thinking, there is no way this was made in LBP! No possible way. If I'd seen this on youtube and someone said it was a LBP level, I'd call them a big fibber and that it isn't possible to create something this epic in Little Big Planet. My mind is completely blown away. Also, that scoreboard is quite possibly the very best scoreboard I have ever seen. Very unique way of displaying it.

Thanks guys, I appreciate that you appreciate my level XD

I did think that the very first tutorial part could have done with a few more respawn areas though.

I've fixed the first liana, now it moves slowly, and is easyer to cross the first thorny pit. Adding checkpoints is hard, especially at the beginning cause the thermometer is full and i have to leave space for all emitters; Blobby weighs a lot, and takes up about 1/5 of the thermometer, as you saw the level is long, and then combine everything is difficult and dangerous to the good operation of the level.

there is no way this was made in LBP!

Really thanks, just be nominated for sackyes would be a great honor but I'm not a famous creator, and probably people will already have forgotten my level to the next sackyes XD

Thanks, but like i wrote in the comment of the level, the composer who made these wonderful songs is comishguy67, maybe is better that before you ask to him if u can upload the songs, if you already did it, it's all OK

This was one of the most amazing levels i have played in a long time. I really felt like it was a downloaded PSN game and not a little big planet level.
It had a lot of similarities to the art style i have been working with lately which i like and the animations where very good.

I did think it was a little too hard in places and not enough checkpoints added but overall a very fun and well made level.

I have a love-hate relationship with this level. On one hand, the adorable (and amazingly executed) aesthetic and wonderful mechanics make this a great level, but the control method makes things very tight and needlessly difficult at times. I think a few more checkpoints would benefit the level (as the difficulty makes dying frustrating and flow-breaking), but as you said the thermo's full. In the future, I think you should give the player more time to learn the control methods rather that throwing tons of danger at them at the start.

You earned an author heart and a level heart because it was phenomenally well done, but some of the frustrations kept me from yaying it.

This is a fantastic level, but quite tough at times, despite the rather child-friendly visuals.

I agree that there needs to be more checkpoints, perhaps it would have been better if you split the level up into parts, to avoid the thermo issue?

thanks to all.
of course I had thought initially to divide it into two levels, but then I could not put the final panel with counts secrets.
However, I think it's just a matter of practice, obviously the commands (even if simple) are new, and overturn the usual gameplay of LBP, trust me the difficulty level is not very high...

I freaking love this level! I have played it like ten times by now. My sister has played it. My neighbour has played it. I'm sure that if I had a dog, I'd make him play it too,

I hope you don't mind if I record your level and upload it to my YouTube page

I played this level a few nights ago, whoa!! this level was super awesome! I laughed in my head in one part though, Blobby fell not too far from the hide n seek area and yet you designed the level to go very far into diverse lands, which kind of confused me, but whoa, still, it was an awesome level, I loved it, it kind of reminded me of Kirby mixed with something else, it was 10/10, I REALLY REALLY hope you make a sequel!!! I played this level almost a week ago, and you did an superb job. This level is filled with amazing visuals that has a great mixture of silhouette style and detailed characters. The gameplay has some unique ideas, too. The music by Comishguy are brilliant in this creative game. This is one of the creative games ever made in LBP2.

I'm going to have to agree with bonner123 on this one. I spent a total of around an hour playing this, and most of that was on the same 3 areas. The very first bit, the bit after that, and the bit with the kites. The level really was a joy to play for the rest of it, but these were really unenjoyable. I think I agree that bouncing everywhere makes it difficult to get precision, and more checkpoints are needed. I also think swinging could be improved, and some areas were very unclear as to what happened. I never found out I the smiley platforms went up, and why am I being killed by kites? How are rainbows dangerous?

However, the visuals really are lovely, there's plenty of originality and it's so difficult not to be charmed, and when it worked I really loved it. Congrats, but please do something about the difficulty, even if it is just a couple more checkpoints.

Man, I laughed so hard when I read this! XD
You have a point man! I had a difficult time in about 3 areas too, and then one part messed up cause the vine that Blobby swings on broke and I had to restart the level, and then the kites I was like O.o and the rainbows were like "why?"
but yeah, the visuals were awesome, the level was by far one of the best I've ever played, and if you ever make a PART 2, just work on these parts and others

One of the best mini-games i have ever played! It reminded me a lot of the mini-game in LBP Vita Story Mode called "Tapling"

Really fantastic game!
