Item Help Megathread

Archive: 113 posts

Because of experience with LBP1 and LBP2 I know lots of threads regarding "where is prize X on level Y" will surface in the coming days. Instead of cluttering up the forum with lots of threads that can be answered in one post, why don't people just post their item woes here?

I'll get started: where are items 33 and 39 on the level Hooks & Beats?

So yeah, either post the item you're looking for or the item number on a specific level and I'm sure someone with a handy strategy guide / crazy skills will assist you.

In the coming weeks I'll edit in categorized lists of tricky items. For now I'm getting ahold of my bearings with LBPV.

I'm missing 39 too! I was missing 2 items but managed to find one...I don't know what number it was though...

I'll attempt to describe it anyway in case it was 33. There is a cyan ramp/incline leading up to a check point right before one of the deadly pink sections where you grapple and tilt the controller to roll across (towards the end of the level). The ramp is 2 wide, you can walk behind it to collect the prize which is partially visible under the ramp/behind the blue floppy disks that denote the end of the ramp.

Great idea bonner - thanks for making this thread. Stickied!

It would also be a huge help if anyone/everyone from the community were to help out by posting lists of objects and where they can be found in which story level. *hint hint*

I found 39 and it's here (http://vita.lbp.me/p/wfye).

Also, adding on to what Taffey said: it's also helpful if you mention if it's available through a sticker switch, 2x section, hidden or available from the score challenges.

where is the key to the mini game in mino o' threat?

lol I had fun making all those secrets. If you go to the final section with the spinning hammers, before going towards them, go down and left. There's a small cave with the key hanging down : )

Hi everybody!

/! 1 missing item problem incoming ! /!
I made this level at least 10 times, and I miss a single bubble.
I can't it find anywhere!

And when I do this level with my girlfriend, at the end it says "100% of item collected", and just after it count the items from 0% to 97% .... I don't understand.

I don't know what to do.
Is there a super secret item? Or is it a bug?

Thank you very much for your help!

1.) Does anyone happen to know if there are any Glass materials other than "Smooth Glass" in the game, and if so, where they might be located?
2.) Where should I look for the "Snow" and "Ice" materials?

Also, on my 100% mission today I listed out every level with a x2 area.

Palace of the Peculiar
Cogwheel Creek
The Odd rocket
The Discard Factory
The Mainframe Heist
Spare Part Pursuit
An Appetite for Metal
A Recipe for Unpleasantness

If you want a bash at doing those at some point soon, I'm willing to help. I have the exact same list lol. That Appetite for Metal 2 player is going to be awkward. I can't for the life of me see how two players could help with that section. It's just a large block with 2X on it and a small block, just before the tube. Unless you have to get a long way ahead of the metal eater and pull that big block together?2012-09-23 05:55:00

Ignore the blocks, they are just a "sign-post". Stand to the right just in front of the tube, pick up the other player with the grabinator and the standing throw will toss them clean through.

Have you gotten 3 stars on the eyeball rolling game? I think you get an eyeball sticker that controls these switches.

Coaster valley, Makeshift Transportation. Cant find one bubble and don't have the sticker for the panel.

So I have two questions: Does the sticker switch have the last bubble and where is the sticker for it?

bubble was at the very end of the level. sticker panel is probably for a race or summat.

In palace of the peculiar I just got the four prize bubbles for the two player section. When I played it again all four bubbles are now empty but I'm still missing those four. I really hope this hasn't bugged out on me. Would another install put this right because they are definitely the only four I'm missing.2012-09-23 19:16:00

Stretchy pink goo material, can't seem to find it anywhere.. If you're not sure what I mean, Play level A Wander Into Wonder.

Edit: Have just aced The Land Of Odd, still no luck getting goo I guess it's not possible then.

and: I'm missing a prize bubble in Main Frame Heist. I've checked behind the only checkpoint you can get behind but there's nothing there. I hope my game hasn't got a bug because I Know I've already lost 4 bubbles in another level already because it messed up after I got them.

would a reinstall make me lose everything I've collected?

When I can't find all the prize bubbles I usually assume it's a bug in my copy of the game too. What # are you missing...maybe someone will remember where it is?

I believe when you delete a downloaded Vita app you also delete your save; would be nice to hear I'm wrong about this because it seems pretty dumb. Installing over top of an existing app shouldn't adversely affect your save data...but I also wouldn't expect it to make any difference for the same reason.

How does one "mess up" collecting prizes btw???

I guarantee your missing the same 4 I was missing. Towards the end of the level when you get to the part where you use your finger to shoot a pinball. Go to the right and you can go behind the pinball wall. Then there is a sticker switch

I've looked high and low for that missing prize bubble in Heist but I just can't find it. The reason I'm suspicious is because I played with someone and got the two player prize bubbles from Palace of the Peculiar, but It doesn't register them in my percentage and the prize bubbles are now empty.

I can't remember...I think it might have been a 2x prize. You don't need it to collect prize bubbles because I never used it. I assume it just triggers a race gate...I should go back and try it...I loved that level.

Ok, so I was wrong about the Palace of the Peculiar! LOL. There are four prize bubbles hidden right at the end of that level, to the right of the last jump up. You need a oval sticker for them. Where can I find it?2012-09-24 20:15:00

Edit: Have just aced The Land Of Odd, still no luck getting goo I guess it's not possible then.I'm pretty sure the goo is just the "jam" material tweaked to be pink.

The "sticky" part of it has nothing to do with the material itself, but rather a very clever trick using the dephysicalizer tool. The goo doesn't actually stretch, it is a regular old piece of elastic that has been hidden behind it. What you do for the stretching effect is make two long, thin triangles out of the jam material, dephysicalize them, and stick one to each end of the elastic so that their points are overlapping each other. When the elastic expands and retracts, the two triangles overlap each other and give the appearance that the material itself is actually stretching, when in reality it isn't.

Nifty trick, eh?

No, I've got it and it's not the jam, it's a separate material called Flowing Slime. You get it from Spooky mountain: Reanimated Station

I suppose i could make you a nice list of the prizes won from each level, but how i'd be able to diferentiate between what's a 2x, whats behind a sticker panel, and whatnot i don't know.

As far as I know there isn't any neon material. There IS neon outline but that's not good enough. I would use sticker panel material with invisible material placed where the player needs to interact with it.2012-09-27 19:01:00

I'll look and see where the neon material is, but I can't say I can tell you where in the level it is. Gimme a minute or 10 to boot up the thing and faff around and I'll let you know.

Ok, for now here's what i know. It's listed under the Effects heading of your popit.

edit!: It's a prize in collision course.

nah. that game is built on patterns. just look for them in it that way and you'll grind past it. that's what i did. it seems that there are somewhere abouts 3 patterns per the first 3 or 4 rounds that it could possibly be. Or i could have just been out of it when i played em.2012-09-27 22:03:00

I'm missing item 22 in Flounder's Jump and Jive. Where might that be?

I'm also missing item 22. Did you manage to find it?

Anyone else have an idea where the item could be?

those wheels that you jump into to get to a higher platform with cloth on the inside that you ride up...i wish i could explain it better but I've gone the better part of two days without sleep. At any rate, hold onto the cloth for a full revolution. the platform you are supposed to land on is hiding it.

Edit: Most likely hiding it. I think there are at least two wheels set up like that along the course.

Three star all the challenges in that area and complete all the 2x puzzles. It seems like a lot of the stickers for the switches are hidden there.

eh. Mine o' threat is one of the simpler ones. only remotely hard part is the hammers. and that's more perception than reality. which is a discussion I am not quite sober enough to get into.2012-09-30 17:05:00

My main problem is the fact that you have to control it from rear touch screen, it'd be way better if it was at least controlled via front screen.
Anyways, anyone want to keep the topic back on topic? =P

just keep your finger right in the general area of the sprite. no need to go wandering off to the edges of the pad. It may take a couple or four tries but as i say, its one of the least rage-inducing (wow. that's actually in my pc's dictionary) levels to ace.

and yes. the topic is now Items and Help.

Yeah, I'm all done except for four bubbles in The Discard Factory. I am missing the Arrow for the sticker switch on the same level. I'm pretty sure after I find that the other 3 will be unlocked. (the wiki for this level is still not finished)

But Im am worried that I already have it and it's just not registering. I have had a few issues on the mini games where even though my points were over what was required for 3 stars I did not get the prizes.

EDIT: A HUGE WTF! The arrow sticker for the sticker switch in The Discard Factory is in Tutorial #31 in create mode. That is just crazy. A special shout of thanks to MIKOLE06 for leaving it in the comments section.

Lol, reading is fundamental. Just keep walking to the right of checkpoint where you release the peppermint candy, like a pinball, to hit the switch that changes the spikes to a springboard. It's towards the end of the level.2012-10-01 17:40:00

I just finished collecting everything yesterday - I'm now at 100%. I was able to meet up with some folks online and knock out the 2x challenges fairly easily, and the rest was just poking around for the prizes I was missing. Overall less work than LBP2 I think, and more fun too.

This was posted earlier in the thread but it was such a big help for me it's worth mentioning again. IGN has a (mostly complete) prize bubble location guide in their LBPV Wiki page (http://www.ign.com/wikis/littlebigplanet-ps-vita). In the panel on the left of the page, open up the "Prize Bubbles" section and from there you can select detailed walkthroughs of each level.

http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/LBPV20prize20bubbles20IGN.jpg

The descriptions are kind of vague/confusing sometimes, but they are detailed enough to at least let you know what you missed and where to look.

Heh...I just went looking for this the other day too. It's actually in plain sight midway through the level at one of the parts where you have to press a blue button to queue box bombs. Think it was on the screen where you have to blow the green box towards you to cross an electrified pit. The key is in an alcove just below a ledge that you have to bomb your way through.

Blue button? Box bombs? Green box?

The level I was talking about is the one with the electrical currents and where the girl with the French accent (i forget her name) breaks out of the crate and pulls the switch for you. It's the level before the final boss level.

And I still can't find the key in the level. Does anyone else know where it is?

PM me your PSN and I'll gladly help you out (or post it here if you prefer, whatever works for you). I've done all the ones up until Coster Valley now, but I don't mind back tracking with ya if you have gaps before then. I know how hard it is to get randoms to stick with you during the lag issues with this game long enough to get to the x2 rooms, I had one quit right as we got to one once :-(

Those had me stumped for a while.

About half way through the level you get to an area that requires you to face left and jump over two gaps which have falling rubbish alternating between the two. Both bubbles are on the underside of the platform in the middle.

And to heck with the eyeball maze, the controls are jacked up.)2012-10-09 14:49:00

Oh god thank you so much. I don't feel dumb at all, I swear I tried to go behind that exit before :-)

Now to try and find someone patient enough to suffer the lag issues to get all the x2 prize bubbles and I've maxed out the game. I didn't have too much of a problem acing the game, also I never, EVER want to see that collision course level again now I've 3 stared it.

I believe that the key is in one of the areas where you must bounce up over the electricity that runs underneath you, either one of the obstacles near the beginning of the second part of the level or slightly further into the second part. If you are talking about the level I am thinking about (I can't play right now and check), I'm nearly certain it's at the top of one of those obstacles.

It's actually pretty hard to miss if I recall correctly... It'll be right above where you have to go anyway, if it's the same key I'm thinking of. The screen may be a little dark in that area though, making it easy to miss.2012-10-23 19:51:00

It's in one of the areas (a tad earlier on) where you dodge the grid-like electric blocks while you navigate across a platform, a bounce pad, and another platform. The key is hanging over the first platform, and is actually clearly obvious against the dark background. I missed it frequently on my run-throughs, and it may help to increase the Vita's brightness to find it. Hope this helps!
