Epic definitive picture project
Archive: 266 posts
Some people might remember this https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=37732-LBPC-Group-Picture-Complete!&highlight=group+picture That was soooooooooooome time ago. I say let's step up the game, keep up with time Can we realize a poster with all the active and storic members of the WHOLE Community? So, not only Central, I hope the other fansites will join this project too In the spirit of Community love and integration. At the moment it's still an idea that will require LOADS of time and resources. But I would love to hear what people think. I'll contact even the other forums amins and md and see how we can arrange the things. I will keep this post updated! Cheers! Confirmed editors Ostler Dasackboy samalot tynamite Giftfrosch OmegaS. (we still need MOAR) Involved fansites Central Planetarium Land The project has been feature on PocketMoonPodcast #29 so I hope it will get more exposure UPDATE I say let's start this project full force Sackomedia and Planetarium are onboard so far No uploading pics at the moment, this thread is just for planning, recruiting "workforce" LOL We will open a thread for uploading as soon as we have everything in place to start working We need to find first people that will take care of editing the submitted pics: basically the work is removing the white backgrond and save the pics without background in .png files So applies are open, obviously I want a prove that "you" are able to remove backgrounds, so I will consider the application of people that will post here 3 (three) pics of sackperson with a white background and 3 .png files without background. I don't set a limit of people because we might need to work on hundred/thousand pics and it takes time. | 2012-09-18 12:33:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

I support this. If everyone had the same white background some of the work could be automated, perhaps. | 2012-09-18 15:27:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
I support this. If everyone had the same white background some of the work could be automated, perhaps. One idea could be creating a level just to pose to take the pic, with a white background, set illumination and camera position, then upload it to LBP.me and everything should be easier | 2012-09-18 16:07:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

I support this to i love the idea...What do we need to do to get the ball rolling? Enough enthusiasm and support from all the other fansites because it's going to be a work that can't be done only by a couple of people. And it will take loads of time. So, let's do one little step at the time | 2012-09-18 17:52:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

I'd be happy to cut out and process people's sackpeople. Perhaps an admin could set up a dropbox or two? That way, everyone taking part can email their sackpeople to the first dropbox (all one address, and everyone working on the project can access it), we make sure they're identical in size, cut them out, clean them up, and email them to the SECOND dropbox for whoever is working on the final project? | 2012-09-19 23:27:00 Author: Weretigr Posts: 2105 |

I cant edit pics. Heck, I can barely upload them well, you need photoshop or Gimps, but don't worry, I appreciate your support. You can spread voice with your friends when this will go full throttle. For experience I can say that some people will be a bit reluctant (it happened with the other poster) so we need enthusiast people bridging this little gap, OK? | 2012-09-20 14:42:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I think this'd be fun. I'll volunteer to render some the images posted, however, might I suggest, instead of asking people to use a white background, just advise people to use a colour that contrasts with their Sackperson. The best way I'd advice doing this is to create a platform and backing out of Neon, set to 30% or 40% brightness. Enough to stand out as a bold colour, but not bright enough to blur the photo. I'm not rendering 3 Sackpeople right now, though. If you'll take my word for it, I'm a college student who's been using Photoshop and various other image creation/panipulation programs for around 3 or 4 years now. I used GIMP even earlier than that, but I wouldn't recommend it for doing something like this. GIMPs' selection tools seem to have a hard time achieving the same neat and tidy selection borders that Photoshop can. If you won't take my word that I have PS and know how to use it, I'll go take some photo's and render them at some point later tonight. | 2012-09-20 15:40:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
As I said we can maybe make a photo booth so that we can have all the pics with the same setting and RGB output. Yeah, maybe we can make a level with 5-6 "rooms" with different colours so that everyone will have an easier life, both the editors and the subjects I see you know what you're talking about, so I would skip the proof, but I have to ask it anyway to show fairness and possibly avoid some future complaints, I hope you understand Thanks a lot! | 2012-09-20 15:51:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Yea Ill tell my friends to try to get some pics | 2012-09-21 03:59:00 Author: DominationMags Posts: 1840 |
I could make that photobooth level for you, I would just need some schematics however. I could also work on some of those photo's but after what @Ostler5000 said I'm not sure if GIMP would be good enough for it, however I have dealt a lot with the resources on GIMP and it's pretty descent, but if I could afford it I would buy Photoshop in a heartbeat for this. For the level I assume that it needs dialogue text aswell as 5-6 different colored rooms, or just a color changer for one room, and then tell everyone to upload it, correct? | 2012-09-21 15:42:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |
You got the job Das, I think Ostler has more clear ideas about how the photobooth must be done, so I think he will answer you more appropriately | 2012-09-21 15:48:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Don't get me wrong, GIMP could definitely do this, there's just an ever so slightly noticable difference in quality. However, I suppose if we're scaling these images down after cropping them, odds are the slight difference will be completely unnoticable. As for the photobooth, my thinking was to just create a flooring with a back wall out of Neon with the correct brightness setting and then instruct players to use that stage to take their photo's. You could either set up multiple stages each a different colour, allowing players to pick the one with the best contrast, or, if you wanted to be really fancy, you could create the stage out of whatever material, and then layer multiple Sticker Panel stages over that. Then set it up so that players could toggle which colour Sticker Panel appears with the Triangle button. Other than that I don't think the level needs to be too specific. Well, maybe a password system or something which allows us to distinguish forum goers from randoms? Once the photo's are taken, they just upload them to the level and the Photoshopper's take care of the rest. | 2012-09-21 16:07:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
@Ostler5000, Gotcha, one question should I make it to where people can take the picture themselves, or make it to where a photo at an appropriate size takes the picture itself? | 2012-09-21 16:16:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |
Let people take their own photographs, for the simple reason that Photobooth pictures have a tiny resolution. I never understood why Photobooths took a much smaller image. | 2012-09-21 16:20:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
Kk, I'll get to work on this later tonight. Are there any specifics on titles, or which account this level should be published on? | 2012-09-21 17:08:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |
Thanks guys. As for the account...let's see if the forums give us enough push I asked Taffey and amazing to talk about this in a future Podcast, so eventually, people will be less hesitant | 2012-09-22 06:57:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

Sorry peeps, I have been very busy with LBPC9, but as soon as question on the thread will slow down I will be back to this in full force. What have you prepared for the booth Das? I also wanted to know if Taffey spread word about this on PocketMoon podcast | 2012-10-03 15:24:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
What have you prepared for the booth Das? I have a functioning white display, that can change into about eight different solid colors by pressing triangle, as well as adjustable lighting for each color, including white (ex: white, gray, dark gray) by using the right stick and pushing left or right. A;; the level is right now is a solid black studio like place, with the photobooth being in the center of the level. I'm thinking of tying a similar theme to it as the LBPCentral Community pick levels, but a little more universal design involving every theme from each fansite. Or it could plainly be just the photobooth with some pointers as to what the level is all about. Overall it just needs some polishing right now. I could make a copy of it and have somebody take a look at it if they need too. | 2012-10-03 16:46:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |

My "face" is surely not the most expandable around, so, maybe, trying to collect all the pics in each fansite is the simpliest thing I think | 2012-10-09 12:05:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
For those that are editing the pics, are there any plans for the format in which we decide who edits what image? Like, will people post their images in the thread, then 1 person splits all the images into an equal number, then we give each editor a group to work on, or are we just calling out 'I'll do the next 3 images' and so on? Just curious how we plan to organise the editing process. | 2012-10-09 14:06:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
My "face" is surely not the most expandable around, so, maybe, trying to collect all the pics in each fansite is the simpliest thing I think I can head over to LittleBigPlanetarium to make a thread about this, and maybe even LBN. Also, maybe we could contact warlord to see if he could make a front page LBPC banner. | 2012-10-09 14:47:00 Author: DominationMags Posts: 1840 |

Just wondering as I didn't edit the last project and I wouldn't know how these are organized. Yeah man. I want to see how many people and sites we will be able to get on board. I think we need at least 7-10 editors since if everything start to hit stride I expect LOTS of pics, we're just at half way. | 2012-10-10 07:25:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

I love how Tynamite and I asked the same question, but I was ignored. Yeah, thanks for that. Sorry man, I will check where is it and why I missed it. I can assure you I never leave anyone without an answer, must have slipped away. I apologize EDIT: For those that are editing the pics, are there any plans for the format in which we decide who edits what image? Just curious how we plan to organise the editing process. Yeah I totally missed it. OK, I was thinking to ask people to post the PSN ID and then the pic, then we'll divide the work between editors with Alphabetic intervals. Example Ostler does all the 0123...+A-D Omega does E-H Tynamite does I-M and so on so if the PSN ID is jwwphotos for example, Tynamite knows that it's his duty to edit it. OR...someone might collect the pics from the various fansites, rename them with the PSN IDs and send them via mail via .zip file But you're free to disagree with this method We can talk about it and find the best way. | 2012-10-10 10:11:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I'm Pumped for this! Hope this actually works out! | 2012-10-10 11:26:00 Author: Unknown User |

Went on Network but couldn't find the post Can you please link the discussion? I want to see if there's any form of excitement there Also no thread opened yet on Planetarium. Don't see much enthusiasm and will to help from other fansites so far. That's what keeps me from going full throttle. If we don't get all the fansites collaborating this whole things misses the point. | 2012-10-10 15:23:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I'll apply why not would be fun to do, and easy. I can take out the background I'll Send in my submission in a hour or so. Or 15mins lol it's not hard to take out a sackperson and take away the background and replace it. xD | 2012-10-10 18:53:00 Author: Unknown User |

@OmegaSlayer Very sorry about not being on LBP to show you the photobooth level, I've been very busy with school and such, so it's been hard for me to get on in my free time (and that's usually when I'm about to go to bed). | 2012-10-11 15:10:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |

If you guys need any assistance with background creation (for final picture/drafts), I'll definitely help you guys out with this. I also like Omega's idea with providing a preset level for taking the pictures in (hopefully Front View/front-facing camera would be required or implemented, makes editing easier if you guys haven't discussed it already ). Anyway, looking forward to the final rendition. The last one was quite the work, and this one is bound to be enormous considering the huge community growth. | 2012-10-13 23:37:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |

I do have a request for when we start taking pictures from everyone. Please, no moving Sackpeople or crazy backgrounds or color correction. Changing the background of a level may change the color correction/lighting and it will stand out (not in a good way). Also, I saw a Sackboy that was kind of blurry in the last picture project. Thanks NightAngel, we'll defo need that. And yes Tynamite, we need idle sacks and pic taken with a fixed background/lighting and stuff. That's the reason DaS is making a photobooth, I will try to meet with him today to have a look. Also...maybe we can even think of using sackbots to take the pic so that there won't be a mess. I thyink famouscustard is very blurry because it was a pic taken on PSP. Taffey had a PSP pic too. We might have to consider a photobooth for the vita too, eventually. | 2012-10-14 05:45:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

I thyink famouscustard is very blurry because it was a pic taken on PSP. Taffey had a PSP pic too. Ah yes, I see a few pixelated ones. But, Custard's looks like he was in mid jump Yes, you are absolutely correct. The reason famouscustard's looks so much worse is that it was taken using a standard def video capture unit early on, as opposed to the much better-looking PSP Sackpeople that I captured using my HD PVR. Speaking of that, if there are a few PSP people around that want to be involved and don't have access to either a PS3 or a Vita, I am happy to help out and capture those images. Just let me know what your costume items are (and what sections to find them in) and I'll take care of the rest. We might have to consider a photobooth for the vita too, eventually.Absolutely. Just a quick note here: I would highly suggest you ask people to use Vita system screenshots (PS button + start) instead of using the in-game screenshot utility as they are higher resolution. How do people get those screenshots from their Vitas to a computer? Easy! They can either tweet their picture or upload it to Flickr using the Flickr Vita app. | 2012-10-15 21:42:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |

Wait, that doesn't make sense? Aren't the PSP costumes different the PS3 costumes?Yes, they are. The way it works is that I just assemble the same costume that someone uses and take a screen capture. This works because A) you can't sticker or decorate costumes in LBP PSP and B) I have 100% of the DLC. Also, I have a PVR, too. So if you need help Taffey, I will give you a handCapturing HD video out from a PSP is a tricky-ish thing. Apparently you can do it if you have a PSP 3000 but I've never really been able to confirm if it's truly HD or not. Domick12 has an "alternate" way of doing this that involves some kind of voodoo - I still have no idea exactly how. But anyway, the only straightforward means I am aware of for capturing HD video out from a PSP is by using a PSP Go and a component out adapter (also for PSP Go). I have this hooked into my HD PVR and through a random collection of ratio and other video settings, I can get acceptable quality screen captures. To summarize, it's a pain in the butt. Basically, if you're not me or Domick, your best bet is just to take a photograph of the screen. literally, a hand http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/hands.jpg | 2012-10-15 23:32:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |

Yeah, I believe you're supposed to wait for now. You are correct. Unfortunately some others haven't really bothered to read the OP. There are a few instances of people posting rendered pics to show that they have the tools to be involved in creating the project, and I think those posts are what are confusing some of the others into thinking we're currently taking on photo's for editing. | 2012-10-17 11:58:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

Thanks for letting us know. Where exactly are we up to with this project? I assume the Photobooth is done. Everyone who's going to volunteer for editing already has. Thanks, the photobooth was almost ready when I saw it, so there's some need to make an announcement/poster giving all the instructions needed (where to take the pics, how to take the pics, where to post them, and so on) and posting it around. | 2012-11-19 15:01:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

WHERE IS IT?! :kz: Woah, I just realized something; how are we getting a picture of every sackboy from LBPC if only 7-8 people have posted theirs... Or am I missing something? We never said we were taking submissions for the project. The only images that were posted by users have either been; A) People demonstrating their ability to render images to a satisfactory level. or B) People not actually reading the thread, and thinking we're taking on images for editing. Hmm, thinking about that promotional poster that was mentioned on the last page, if nobody else wants to do it, I'll give it a shot. I'll wait until after I get a look at the photobooth, though, as there might be some useful screenshots to take from there. What do you guys have in mind for the poster, anyways? I'm thinking of splitting it into 'Introducing the DPP?', and 'How do I get involved?' Is there a third thing, or is that enough? | 2012-11-26 12:38:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
Third thing: "How I can submit my pic" | 2012-11-26 13:06:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Third thing: "How I can submit my pic" Ah, yes. Remind me, are we taking pics that are posted in the threads, or are we just taking images from LBP.me? LBP.me has the added advantage of keeping all submissions in one place, but it may be a little harder to keep tabs on what has and has not been rendered. | 2012-11-26 13:42:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
We ask to post them in the threads and we have to decide how to divide the edit workload by alphabetic order. | 2012-11-26 13:49:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
We ask to post them in the threads and we have to decide how to divide the edit workload by alphabetic order. Alright. I take it we'll leave submissions open for a fortnight or so, then we'll go around each fansite thread and gather up all the images? That'd be easier than gathering the images as we go, as then we'd have to monitor 3 or 4 different threads at a time. | 2012-11-26 14:01:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
Exactly. Fortnight might be short, maybe a month. It's incredible how people gets busy and have little time when there's an incoming deadline Holidays, exams, lots of stuff will slower down people. | 2012-11-26 14:51:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Okay so, the photobooth is ALMOST done, I got delayed last night a little bit, although it's definitely 90% finished and ready to be viewed by some of you guys. Yeah, exactly. I believe he'll get lots of Player pins Well, I would rather the level have its own account and name, so it will be easier to find. So we are suppose to send in our photos now right? *mew Hoohoohoho~ My goodness it was hard to pick just 1 costume for this photo! :O ..While a lot of my costumes are actually just for my levels. but as a costume creator I do have many i like to run around in myself which means I have lots of main costumes I wear a lot that all are completely different because I have many interests & I'm not the type of person who runs around in the same type of thing all the time. that'd be boring.. So which meant I needed something I wear a lot from time to time and that showcases who I am and my interests fairly well.. http://i4.lbp.me/img/ft/a24560dc2169fa187d6c6900c0d5db45556dfaa8.jpg So I gone for my unique Eggman/Robotnik costume. while I love many things and even have my own persona character. I feel this was the best choice since I wear it a good deal of the time even though I also have many others I do too. But this shows off my love for all things Sonic related anyways. :'D *mew | 2012-12-03 09:51:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |

The fortnight won't be active until we officially declare it active, however, people are more than welcome to commence taking and uploading pictures. I dunno if we're gathering up the photo's from the various (To be created) fansite threads, or if we're just gathering the photo's from the LBP.me photo section. I think if we just used LBP.me, it'd be easier, because then all the pics are in one place, and we can just name each submission based on PSN username. I'm going to get started on the promo poster just now, and make another post in a few hours with whatever I came up with. I realise I said I would do it last night, but I just got totally sidetracked by Twisted Metal. | 2012-12-03 18:25:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

It'll probably get scaled down, anyways, though. However, we'd appreciate it if you just used the Photobooth level like everyone else, that way when it becomes time to collect them all up, your pic is with all the others on LBP.me. I'm just thinking, is this exclusive to LBP2 players, or is there a Vita version or something? I'd love to insist that people just stick to the LBP2 Photobooth, but if Vita players can't access it or whatever, then what? EDIT - Poster. Still working on it. Took me 3 hours and I've a lot left to do. DaSackboy, could you do me a favour and take some snapshots of the EDCGP logo with Front View, and a no background and whatever other photos could be potentially useful? I took a few in-level, but the BG has made rendering them a bit of a chore. I've downloaded the LBPK fansite pack for it's fonts, so I'll be using those in the poster. Good question. I'm not sure what you did differently, but your image url contains "/ft/" and ours "/fl/". If I change it to use ft, it gets bigger. | 2012-12-04 12:39:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
OK, big update. I need all the magic mouths, I'll pass them to Eustoma, she will translate them into Japanese, give them back to me and we can add them as double language in the photobooth. Even the poster Ostler, if I get the text I will pass it to Eustoma so that she will translate the full poster too. | 2012-12-04 14:18:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Oh, cool. I'm still going over the poster text just now. I'm trying to avoid being too wordy, but still keep it interesting. Here's what I have thus far, if anyone wants to suggest alterations, please go right ahead - What's This? The Epic Group Photo is a project to create an enormous poster including as many players as possible! Everyone takes a photo of their sackperson, we then cut it out and add it to the project! LBPCentral already did this once before, but we want to try again, and this time, make it bigger! How do I get involved? All we need you to do is visit the Photobooth level created for the project! With a variety of background options, it's the perfect place to take a clear photo for us to edit! You don't have to use the provided photobooth facility, but we won't take any photos with backgrounds that the Sackperson does not stand out on. You don't need to be well known, or a regular visitor or anything of the sort, if you want to be included, you are more than welcome! Want to do more than just take a photo? We are still looking for people to help us cut the backgrounds out of the photos! Contact the EDCGP Crew on LittleBigPlanetCentral before the submission deadline to help out! How do I submit my pic? Simple! First, in-game, upload your photo to LBP.me, then post your picture in one of the EDCGP threads created on one of the major fansites. Please state your PSN ID, or your username, along with your photo, so we can identify you in the group photo. Also, to make things easier for us, please only post in one of the fansite threads, not multiple. You have one month to take your photo and send it in, before we gather up all the submissions. Once the deadline is up, we will not take on any more photos! Deadline TBA Useful links - Photobooth level -http://lbp.me/v/gwpw9b The original Group Photo - https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=37732 Oh! Eustoma, can you do me a favour, and post some Japanese characters for me? I want to see if I can copypaste them into Photoshop, and create 2 versions of the poster, or if I'll need to download a font pack first. | 2012-12-04 14:54:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
Maybe we should start after X-Mas, so that people will have a bit more time. | 2012-12-04 14:57:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Sure. Sounds like a wise idea. And just to be certain, are we definately gathering up photos posted on the fansites, or are we just going to take photos from LBP.me ourselves? LBP.me seems like to more convenient option, personally. Even if we do get a couple of randoms showing up. | 2012-12-04 14:59:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
Why can't we reuse the photos we already took and submitted for the LBPC version? | 2012-12-04 15:01:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Do you have the rendered version of your photo for use? Cause I don't think any of us have the original PSD or any of the original images on us. People aren't forced to use the Photobooth, but it certainly helps us out if they have clear photo's to use. | 2012-12-04 15:13:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

TBH, I haven't got a clue. I figured we'd probably start trying to work out what size to use, once we had all the submissions. Personally, I'd like to work slightly larger than the previous group photo, and just increase the canvas size as need be. | 2012-12-04 16:25:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

I have the pictures you ordered Ostler, here. (http://lbp.me/u/DaSackBoy/photos) Apologies for getting it out so late. One minor issue with the photo booth: I was trying to find a good arm pose and kept turning off the background light. At first I didn't even realise why it went black. Not a big problem, though. Fixed with an update, thanks for the feedback. | 2012-12-04 17:53:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |

I seriously underestimated how long it'd take for me to put the poster together. Anyways, here's what I have thus far - http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb369/Ostler5000/EpicDefinitiveCommunityGroupPhotoFirstDraft.png I like the layout. Still undecided on the colour, though. Might re-word some text still. I haven't rasterised any of the text, so it's dead simple to fix any typos or poor wording. EDIT- Hmmm. It looks a lot thinner when it's posted on the forum. I'll increase the canvas width and re-do the background to fit. Then I'll shuffle the text and graphics around to fit. | 2012-12-06 20:30:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

Here's my sack http://ic.lbp.me/img/ft/c4c7ea7ffa43d91147bfc0ffe68470afbfa3ef1d.jpg Also I noticed that there was a typo in the booth. At the start of the second (or maybe third) speech bubble you've written 'where' instead of 'wear'. I like the layout. Still undecided on the colour, though. Black and pink? Awesome poster btw. | 2012-12-06 20:54:00 Author: PGdafrog Posts: 277 |
Very nice! One minor suggestion... increase the size of the text boxes and make the text a bit larger. Ok.. maybe two suggestions..? ..maybe a bit of a white backing shadow behind Definitive. ..or maybe make the gradient shade not go to complete black. Gets a bit lost towards the bottom. | 2012-12-06 20:57:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Thanks for the comments guys - http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/3093/epicdefinitivecommunity.png Canvas width increased. Background re-done. Slightly lighter. Haven't changed colour to pink. If enough people think that'd be better, I'll do it later. Scaled all text boxes up. EDIT - Ah. Photobucket appears to be resizing my uploads. The image is larger when it's dragged from my folder into my browser, than it is when linked from Photobucket. EDIT 2 - Replaced PB link with unresized Imageshack link. | 2012-12-06 22:09:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

Awesome job Ostler! Looks great, I do think the text could use a little smoothing of the low-res picture, looks edgy, everything else is fantastic however! Also I noticed that there was a typo in the booth. At the start of the second (or maybe third) speech bubble you've written 'where' instead of 'wear'. On it, should be fixed by the weekend. | 2012-12-07 00:54:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |

Aww my head is cut off on the 2nd one, & the BEST place to upload pictures is http://www.abload.de/ it doesn't compress the images or add jpeg artifacts to it. Tut for the site Part 1 (http://i.imgur.com/hVbPE.png) Part 2 (http://i.imgur.com/hclIx.png) Part 3 (http://i.imgur.com/TopQs.png) Part 4 (http://i.imgur.com/ts4zy.png) Finished Product (http://www.abload.de/img/12-7-20124-50-53pmysp8d.png) The differences between the 1st and last picture are VERY slight but that's because they weren't heavily edited pictures, and not that much color in them. But yea abload.de is the best site for pictures to be uploaded to. | 2012-12-07 22:04:00 Author: lve_msg Posts: 408 |

No, I dunno how you took that pic, but it's tiny. EDIT2 - Forgot to mention, DaSackboy, I was expecting a nice Photobooth level, but you really went above and beyond expectation. Excellent work. I got it from my picture here, I'm not sure I still have the original, I'll take a new one. Poster looks really good, congrats Perhaps you could include the LBP.me URL for the photobooth though, that way people can queue it. | 2012-12-08 14:39:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
Perhaps you could include the LBP.me URL for the photobooth though, that way people can queue it. That would be written below. Typing it on the .png would mean people had to manually type it out in their URL bar. I get that some people might accidentally forget to include the URL in their posts, but those people are halfwits and probably wouldn't even be able to post the image in the first place. | 2012-12-08 15:52:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

PSN: leklack http://i3.lbp.me/img/ft/3039783d941e6d57ad0b854aa15ebecccd86ac5c.jpg Not to be mean, but this isn't a good choice of background. Your costume already has plenty of pink and purple, so I can see parts where your costume blends into the background. (Particularly the shadows on the ponytails.) You'd have been better with something green or yellow or something else because neither of those colours are present in your costume. It's not a massive issue, so don't worry about it, but Photoshops Magic Wand tool is going to be a pain in the ***, so I'd need to manually go over some bits. (Manual work? Oh noes!) Biorogues pic is an excellent example - his costume has blue, yellow, purple and red, as well as some white, brown and black so a green background ensures his costume outline stands out really well. I've added a little extra to the poster, regarding people using the same colour BG as the Sackperson. I've seen a few other instances of people colour-coding their BG when it is supposed to stand out. I also got the background looking more like the original. (I loved the depth it had. Looked like some cool neon tubes casting a shadow on a grey wall.) | 2012-12-10 16:18:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

PSN: leklack http://i3.lbp.me/img/ft/3039783d941e6d57ad0b854aa15ebecccd86ac5c.jpg I think green background would be a lot suitable for background in your case Guys, pick colors that are not on your sackboy, most contrast color from your sackboy possible and don't pick white or black (or else you so colorful that you don't have any other option). Ok here my hints how to do best pictures -Contrasty solid color background, not white or black if possible (as said above) -Make your picture as small as possible but the way that you sackboy does fit in borderies of picture, the bigger sackboy is on picture the more pixel it has = better quality of end result after editing. -Set lightning tweaks to night, in day there a nasty fog that wash out the colors, specially black and dark colors, making them look nusty Ok here by picture: http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/6c9b880acd958d81e524325c64c95b7152ee04ae.jpg I pick purple because it doesn't exit on my sackboy, only problem would be bird on top that is red which is close to purple but with good editing it should be fine. Wait, why avoid white? Could you elaborate? He means avoid it if it contrasts with your costume, in my case (if you look back a couple of post) white was the best color to use. | 2012-12-11 05:38:00 Author: fireblitz95 Posts: 2018 |

Remember that the photobooth also lets you change the brightness of the background, so if your costume is literally a rainbow, you can just adjust the brightness some so the colors are no longer the same. It's simply about making the background easily removable in editing, so having it the negative color of your costume is much appreciated. | 2012-12-11 12:01:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |

I'll keep an eye out for instructions, so I don't leap on others' work We haven't started editing yet, nor have we even announced the time period for submissions. (However, people are welcome to dump their stuff in here well ahead of us officially starting.) Current plan is that we'll go interforumal (Har, made up words.) after Xmas, give everyone one months notice to submit their stuff, then we round up all the photos from all the fansite threads, then we issue files to each of the editors, roughly proportionate to how much they can get through, then they all send their edited photos to one last guy, who sticks every rendered costume in one big poster. Then profit. Remember folks, we also need to know what to label you in the poster. Some people don't use the same username on PSN and on the fansites, so if there's any possible confusion over what we can name you, then please state what you'd prefer in your post. Otherwise we'll just label you 'That guy' or 'Him' or 'Whatshisface' or 'That dude nobody likes'. | 2012-12-11 22:46:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

Ah lookin at that old group picture makes me reminiscent for all the folks who have dropped off the LBPC radar in the last couple of years. I regretted not being in that one at the time, so im definitely gonna be in this, ill add a picture as soon as possible | 2012-12-12 10:35:00 Author: Skalio- Posts: 920 |

Here is my picture! ^_^ http://if.lbp.me/img/ft/24f168619a4b63bbc4e2ea5ee96b198828f9cc48.jpg You know,I don't think it entirely correct to have used a sackbot for this picture, although I think it might be a good idea, I don't know if it would be right to use it in the group picture. What do you think @Ostler? | 2012-12-12 12:10:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |

What do you think @Ostler? The image also seems a bit foggy to me. But I don't know if that counts in the qualification of image quality. | 2012-12-12 12:23:00 Author: Spanex Posts: 65 |
You know,I don't think it entirely correct to have used a sackbot for this picture, although I think it might be a good idea, I don't know if it would be right to use it in the group picture. What do you think @Ostler? Nah, I'm not for Sackbots, personally. If we open the floodgates to Sackbots, we start getting more and more bizarre entries. Can I submit myself as a 2D cardboard character? Also, blue costume on blue background. Plus it looks like part of the shoes are cut off. | 2012-12-12 13:30:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
Ostler, I posted my picture a while ago, but I'd like to be labeled by my forum name, "Flyin' Hawaiian"/"flyinhawaiian" can you make it happen? | 2012-12-12 13:58:00 Author: flyinhawaiian Posts: 357 |
You can still edit it into the original post, I just did it with mine. Seems less hassle for the photoshop crew. By the way, thanks for the reminder to label it, Ostler. | 2012-12-12 14:03:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |

Yea haha sorry about that, I just remembered I had an old pic of my costume bot and uploaded it- I couldn't get to LBP2 at the time. I'll upload a better one later today. | 2012-12-12 16:16:00 Author: theIronHorse Posts: 279 |

So I took 4 new photos in yellow and pink backgrounds, so you can cut me better. I'm also in idle and happy animation, so pick whichever you want! I think happy looks better, but if idle suits better, use idle. http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/409ed1e6d2e8f98460321f1546c1371ad526d92c.jpg http://if.lbp.me/img/ft/66f4660bc6a5640300b5bd484a86fd1822d9d0dc.jpg http://ic.lbp.me/img/ft/8ecfe0c2cf9dc0438971e321671fa22f659ff656.jpg http://i7.lbp.me/img/ft/2478debf01b90874c96092a57519a6bc7c6cc0a8.jpg Also, I want to be called just Patofan. | 2012-12-12 19:22:00 Author: Patofan Posts: 1185 |

@ Omega...what is the current status of this project? I did not read all "16" pages of this thread...sorry, very busy...but I was hoping you could update your OP with a link to the level everyone is taking their pic in, as I would enjoy being a part of this EPICNESS. Thanks! | 2012-12-13 17:30:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |

Hummm, I did not know of this level. Should I redo my entry? It's not mandatory. It helps, and it's for peoples convenience, but if the photo you took already was fine, then it'll do. | 2012-12-14 12:45:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

Just an idea, make a larger version of the picture with a high resolution, and provide a Zoom.it (http://www.zoom.it) URL to allow users to zoom in on it. It would be very helpful for names of players. If this hasn't been suggested yet. | 2012-12-17 21:07:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |

43390 There ya go. I took three pictures, but this one was the best. I have an epic Finger Hat of Doom that my sackboy occasionally wears, but I decided to go casual this time. This is actually my cross-LBP meta-costume, ie. I wear it 90% of time in both LBP2 and LBPK. Hat, specs, tash, scarf, circus coat, spotty boxers, wellies, Zen-like expression of brainless calm. Brainless calm comes in handy for kart races... EDIT: Hello, weirdy here again. I failed to post the image in the thread properly, because I suck. I hope the image link is okay, though. Also I realise that my sackboy's skin is mainly green on a greenish backdrop, but the costume is mainly red, so hopefully that's okay. If not, just hit me with a wok and I'll do it again. I'll even provide my own wok. Here. *hands it over* Try this, it's blue-er: | 2012-12-23 15:36:00 Author: weirdybeardy Posts: 123 |
