Climb treacherous volcanoes, cross dangerous waters, and crash land from the heavens on your journey through the level. Choose either 'race mode', and dash to the finish line as fast as possible, in an attempt to smash the reigning high score in a race against the clock. Alternatively, you could choose the new 'treasure hunter mode', and take your time while you hunt for the twelve piececs of treasure, lost by the infamous Pirate Sack-beard. http://i4.lbp.me/img/fl/1b4224b732710edcb9d9574b787c6f2312a7f7e1.jpg http://ie.lbp.me/img/fl/c5e57ef41b842155a626fbe44512218e0c241385.jpg http://id.lbp.me/img/fl/cfd84c542a42544ee096cc561a897b28aeccb37d.jpg http://i3.lbp.me/img/fl/57390f0513cc3c975b88c4548fd6b2b0941c78fd.jpg http://if.lbp.me/img/fl/55fd0de9752bb2f6557f8df15f4a2480018a17f2.jpg http://ia.lbp.me/img/fl/36a16b7ecd719ebfc2d1a245985aa10180b814bc.jpg Much credit to co-designer, matt590, and further credit to CWisAWSOM3 (Ben21 in LBPC) for his suggestions and modifications to the level. Thank you for viewing the thread. I hope you enjoy the level! | 2012-09-16 20:01:00 Author: Unknown User |
looks great i've got it q'ued i will give feedback after i am done playing through. EDIT: Ok i played it and here is my review. First, I would like to come in the level and help you out on some things to make it look better. Ok REVIEW TIME It was a neat level with simple platforming except alot of the deaths were really cheap. Complaints: I would start off slowing down the emiter that emits the lava ball that rolls toward you, i would remove the race factor in the game it really ruins the level all together to be rushed through such a senic level, the begining makes no sense as to why the player is riding a skateboard into the water i would make that a different vehicle, something that bugs me is the fact that when you plumit back to earth the arrows are just lying scattered on the ground and there is no scuba mask for the player, and the chairs can have WAYYYY more detail put in them, THE MUSIC IS UN-ORIGINAL, Finally my last complaint is the fact that the sponge at the top of the volcano is a little too distant so it is kinda hard to grab them even with a grapling hook. Likes well for one it has a nice calm platforming effect, it has neat detail that can be increased Ten-Fold, It is not copied and took some effort to create, the score-board is a neat idea, and i aslo like the way sackboy is launched out of the volcano. Remember I would like to help add decor Have a great day, Ben21 | 2012-09-16 20:50:00 Author: Ben21 Posts: 127 |

Ben23, thank you very much for your detailed review. Matt590 and I much appreciate it. I am grateful for your offer to help me to decorate the level a bit, but my only concern is the significant time difference (of six hours) between the United Kingdom and the state of Arkansas. There will be very few time periods that will be convenient for us both. You could either tell me your suggestions, or we could try to arrange a time to play. | 2012-09-17 16:32:00 Author: Unknown User |
umm we can arange a time to play i can stay up on the weekends so if you or i get up early on a saturday and one of us stays up late to play wouldn't that work. OR HECK even you getting on at Noon your time and me getting on at 6:00pm would work right or would it be the other way around with me on at noon and you at 6:00pm? | 2012-09-19 13:37:00 Author: Ben21 Posts: 127 |
Looks good, queued. And -lol, what a coincidence- thanks for playing my Dark Cave level, EDIT: REVIEW First of all, I don't regularly see race levels, and when I do they are usually not of this high quality. WOW! Littlebigplanet's race-platform levels are most of the times a lot of fun (but like I metioned earlier, not of high quality) but this one really stands out in the crowd. As you may know I'm a huge fan of the grappling hook, and I like it if water is used well in a level too (because unfortunately, people tend to just cut a hole in a material and publish it with the name 'swimming pool&apos, and you did both grappling hook and water very well. The volcano was visually pleasing and my favorite part. One single thing: the scenery quality is very... irregular. Some areas in the level look brilliant, others look good but nothing special. The start had something I call a "scenery gap"(meaning you see the material you walk on and maybe a gameplay object but barely any scenery), I have uploaded a picture showing it. The part that came right after it was looking great again though. Wait... did I mention how awesome the rowing part is? I didn't, huh? Well, the rowing part is awesome and works flawlessly. This is just my personal opinion. Overall I give this level an 8.5/10 yayed and hearted. | 2012-09-19 18:31:00 Author: Stuifie3 Posts: 37 |
Attention, LBPC users, the long awaited (and much anticipated) updates for Pacific Run have finally arrived! Apologies for such a long delay, but I have been very busy since September, and have struggled to find time for LBP. The following issues, first addressed by Ben21 (or CWisAWSOM3 as he is known in PSN), have been seen to: i would remove the race factor in the game it really ruins the level all together to be rushed through such a senic level I consulted matt590, and we both agreed that the race aspect should not be removed completely. Instead, we decided to make it so players can choose between racing, and treasure hunting. There are a total of twelve pieces hidden throughout the level, and players can still rack up a decent score from the points awarded for finding each treasure. when you plumit back to earth the arrows are just lying scattered on the ground The arrows have gone, and are replaced by some fish swimming via waypoints, and their path resembles the shape of an arrow, to point players in the right direction. the chairs can have WAYYYY more detail put in them Ben21 kindly came into the level with me, and completely redesigned the deck chairs, which can be found at two points in the level. While he was there, he also changed the appearance of the volcano's lava flow, which can be seen before its make-over in the following link: http://lbp.me/p/qyj2f7d Also, the race timer has been slightly increased, allowing higher scores! | 2012-11-10 20:52:00 Author: Unknown User |
