Archive: 14 posts

I saw a commercial something about gaming. i forgot the name but it started with "bridge" in the name i think. I saw kevin playing on an nintendo system? what happened to him? his videos from his account is gone... was it really that bad? had sony fired him? did he quit? yes it was a wii since they said it and played mario kart wii. :/ and why would he play on the enemies system? he created "long live play" thing going on as a saying for playstation and other videos for years. I still like kevin buttler but why?2012-09-14 03:58:00

Well, to be fair to him, he is an actor. And actor's tend not to say "Hey guys, I can't do that commercial you were gonna pay me 250k to do, there's a wii in it"

And they arnt really our "enemies". This isn't a war, though some youtubers may disagree. Plus, have you ever considered that some people, well I don't know, enjoy Wii, Xbox AND Ps3?

Sorry for my sarcastic mini-rant, but just saying.

He's an actor, he will act in a commercial if they pay him enough to do so. See what I did? I answered your question without the unnecessary sarcasm.2012-09-14 11:32:00

That's not possible.

Why someone plays Wii? Answer is too simple. Because Wii is better than PS3, of course!2012-09-14 15:42:00

I'm guessing this doesn't extend to the Wii U? Otherwise that'd be stupid, Mario (Kart) sells loads usually. Sounds like a way of pulling people over to the Wii U. Maybe they should've done it with the DS to move people to the 3DS.

just found out.if you played "hey pikachu" on 64, if you say "playstation" pikachu gets angry. (Did you know gaming youtube channel by jon and egorapter had proven that) and i was making a review in lbp2 of a stupid ps3vsxbox level and i typed "xbox360" and it censored it. :/

so there is your proof. :tophat:

According to reports surfacing in the last hour or so, Sony are (as far as I can tell from a quick scout) suing Bridgestone and an advertising agency over – it appears – the inclusion of Jerry Lambert in a Bridgestone advert that featured the Nintendo Wii.
The advertising agency has Lambert as the president.
Jerry Lambert, who played the character Kevin Butler for SCEA for some time, recently appeared in a Bridgestone advertisement that had a Wii insert, sporting Mario Kart Wii. It was a part of a promotion by the tyre company in which buying a set of tyres bagged you a $70 credit card or – yes – a Wii.
About a week before the promotion ended, Bridgestone swapped out the advert for a Lambert-less version, but it’s since emerged that on September 11th Sony filed their complaint (http://dockets.justia.com/docket/california/candce/3:2012cv04753/258962/). I won’t pretend to understand the legalese, but the first filing is here (http://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/california/candce/3:2012cv04753/258962/8/), the second, dated a couple of days ago, is here (http://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/california/candce/3:2012cv04753/258962/14/).
Sony’s case appears to be based on Trademark Infringement of IP rather than being specifically about advertising a competitor’s product, even if it’s by extension. Does this mean Sony are claiming that the actor’s likeness is an IP?
