So I played the "Journey" demo..

If I didn't like the demo, should I bother getting the game? :/

Everyone says it is so great, but it didn't seem to interest me that much.
Just the little things kind of annoyed me... like having to walk back to the recharge platform in order to re-attempt a jump (it's the first jump in the game requiring accuracy, yet there was very little/no player feedback(I don't even remember a shadow) and you punish me if I fail?), the camera assuming I am a ******* (oh, let's direct the player to the only landmark in the entire area so he doesn't get lost), delays in hopping(?) up steps/ledges (of course I want to go that way, it's the only path! Why bother delaying the inevitable?)... etc.

It certainly looks like a nice game, but I found the gameplay seemed like an after thought.
I don't think the average gamer should notice the gameplay flaws if the goal is to deliver a visual/emotional experience (it's like good UI design, only good if the player doesn't notice).

What are your experiences with the game/demo?
(no spoilers please)

If you didn't like the demo, then I can't really say that you'll like the full version.

I really liked it. I remember the first time that I came across another player online. Not knowing that they could see where I was, like the socially awkward penguin that I am, I hid behind a rock.

It's not particularly expensive (I don't think), and it's a welcome change of pace from most games. If you're still unsure - wait until it comes available on special offer.
In the meantime, try the game 'Flower' - made by the same company.

There are no gameplay flaws in this game. It's as perfect as they come. You need to sit back and enjoy it. If you can't do that then it's not for you2012-09-10 11:59:00

I played the demo and thought it was okay.

I bought the game, finished it and thought it was one of the greatest game ever made. I've replayed it 3 times already and gonna replay it some other time to get all the collectibles and robes.

Game was good on launch. A lot more people online and a lot more surprises to expect. Now that it's been months after its release, you'll meet people online who know where everything is at, so no point in wandering around. IMO, it's a very relaxing game, but the online's "magic" is over for the most part.

Also you die at the end.

Please remove your last sentence. There is absolutely no need for that to be there.2012-09-10 21:24:00

For as long as I can remember, I've had two favorite games that I loved above all others. Then I played Journey. Now I have three favorite games above all others, this hasn't happened in years, as my first two favorite games both came out around 1998-1999. Now I do have specific genre tastes, so it may not be a big deal to others, but Journey was definitely one of my greatest gaming experiences, and I absolutely love it.

As for missing a jump and having to recharge, that shouldn't be a problem later on, as there are more places to recharge, and when you have someone with you, you can recharge each other. From what I understand, the demo has no multiplayer, which severely kills off the impact of the game.
